Thread: a thread for all your early swg memories..
I remember when I got my first DH17 and set of Bone Armor.
The first time you passed 20k (woot! I'm rich!)
hehe, I remember the first time I saw Composite Armor, I was like 'OMG! That armor is so cool! What is it?'
1) WhenI setup my first wind-harv about 1500m outside of Moenia in the swamps, got DB'd by the Nargs more then a few times

-not knowing what the clone function does
-sitting in the med center for hours while my wounds go away
-enterting battles without novice medic, then sitting and having my life regenerate for 3x as long as the battle lasted
-getting medic and making a wound pack. i remember telling my friend that i could heal my wounds in less than 30 minutes and it ruled!
LOL, I remember my first toon , didnt know how to change the name so I cant even spell it duh, logging on to discover everyone was speaking french and thinking Hmmmm do I have some sort of language filter set wierd? The first thing I did was to run to the edge of the city and out into the brush to see what the red dot was. It was night and I didnt know about ctl L so I couldnt see much and suddenly a thug pops out in front of me and bam im dead. I didnt even get a shot off I was trying to get the movement down and failing miserably, thinking wow this is so cool. Next think I know im getting to choose where I get to go next. Of course I had no idea where my corpse was so I had to wait for daylight to find it. I remember the happy moment I found out that the Num Lock key was my auto run, when I finally saved enough money to get a ticket to Naboo and then died when i got there. I though I had discovered a gold mine when I got paid 1100 credits for a Naboo deliver run, I was able to buy my bone armor 1 piece at a time. I thought I was sooo protected when i got my first slice on my uber bone armor even tho the smuggler must have thought I was nuts to slice it.
Bah, time to get back to work,
Good thread, made me chuckle at the end of a crappy day at work
Thanks
I remember when I got my scout pistol certification and picked up my first scout pistol. OMG i was so freakin uber back then. I unleashed hell on everything that was so hard to kill up until that point. Things like worts, gorgs, mutant womps...lol
I remember once saying to someone "There is nothing on this planet tougher than a Scyck! So **edit** about it!"
The first day i went imp, I declared, and flew into AH. People used to scream back then over such an event: "Theres an Imp in town, eveyone at arms!" I had no chance, so I just asked "where the imp women at?", and was incinerated.
I think the memories are twofold.
First I remember finding out that Imperials could have AT-ST's and spending 36 days solid grinding missions in Bestine to get the faction for my first AT-ST. Needless to say the rebel PC's constantly camped newbies' missionsin Bestine (like the cowards they are). It was REALLY rough, and I didn't know anything about the forums or any of the information on what other professions could do *cough* rifleman *cough*. Let's just say there were a lot of days where the rebel players would get 50% of my faction for little effort.
Then I got the AT-ST and it was marvelous! Back in the days when the guard command actually worked the macro was set up to yell follow and guard and that got hit before anything else. For four days I spent 12 hours+ online at the Imperial missions areas around Bestine patrolling. I purchased my second AT-ST alone off of the faction I got from rebels (trying to) camp newbies.
Second, we moved to Dantooine and my world changed. The houses we set down at the Imperial Outpost opened us up to some serious adventures and hunting. The raw danger of Dantooine was unlike anything I ever experienced before. Literally EVERY MOVE YOU MADE was dangerous. Now you can go across the planet without hitting a mob. Go figure.
I remember the day they turned it into a no build zone and we either had to move or run 1km to get to our factories. We moved, but to this day my group still owns one of the little houses left at the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine. But the early memories when everything was so new, and people actually hung out together are missed. We have gone through 2 towns to finally settle in SiN CiTY Dantooine. I think the people there continue to make the game for me. If the grumpy ones! ![]()
great thread!
nothing beats the 20 odd people armed with CDEF's raind caves!

ROFL
How many people will get that one.
Here's a quick one before I go to work:
I had gotten the game the day it came out, but started a week after launch because the computer I was building wasn't done yet. I remember the first time I was in a camp with a guy I met in my starting city of Doaba Guerfel (oh the memories of that place!) who had taken me on a mission with him to shoot Corellian butterflies. He said "watch this" and started to (ack!) dance and move like a woman, lol. I remember I felt kinda strange at first, thinking ewwww this is gay. But after a few minutes we were laughing like crazy and making gay jokes about it.

1) Getting ready for the nightly Tusken Raid Adventure in Mos Espa. We'd stand outside the Cantina, /shout and /yell about forming a Tusken Raiding Party, and then tear off, usually a couple full groups, in Congo Line Fashion, streaming to the cave entrance at the Fort. Then, getting killed right outside the door. Whole groups wiped out, mothers gnashing their own teeth, children crying, grown men weeping. It was excellent.
2) Finding a 30% spot for my wind harveys, and thinking to myself "I will never need power again."
3) Having to borrow 40K credits for a Wearables Factory from a friend, and thinking what an "Advanced" crafter I was.
4) Toting my Bone Armor around likea badass. I still wear it to this day. Screw you Composite Clones. ![]()
5) Surveying like a kid in a candy store - till I realized that harvesters are my friend.
6) Realizing for the first time that it kinda does matter which weapon you have, and that CDEF Carbines really aren't all that good.
7) Not having a damned clue how experimentation worked until I had already sold about 10 bone armor suits. Sorry customers! I know how it works now, you'll be happy to know. ![]()
8) Having to leave towards the one end of the town of Mos Espa that had random Squills running around, and getting incapped by them almost every time I had to pass by.
9) Realizing that battle fatigue is not my friend, and that I had over 400 of it.
10) Realizing, on the whole, that delivery missions were quite the waste of time. If nothing else, you would gain XP along with gaining cash if you did destroy missions, even though I was a lowly artisan.
How I miss the old days...
"I didn't know I could talk to people!" - I didn't get the online part. I bought the game in germany, didn't bother reading the package and I'd never heard of it before I saw it in the shop.
