This is my first guide so please bear with me. But I think this tactic will help alot of people.

You do not have to do it like this and depending on the strength of your forces you might not need to use all these steps.

Preparations

Explosive devices DO WORK!!!!

It would be best with a full group, graba couple of docs of some people with rez arms. In order to prepare properly for this quest you will need to suicide a couple times. Load all of your group disbanded into separate instances. Pick up the explsoives from the second Mining Camp (3 total) and DIE!!. lol

If you have 8 in your group that will add up to 24 total Explosive Devices.

Get out of the instance wait for the timer. Get buffed and ready for next entry let an enhancer with FR3 grab all of them.

To set the Explosives you Use from radial menu on your inventory. A Detonator will appear after each set just click on detonate and BOOM.

You need some defenders/tanks and a runner (FR3)

Actions taken at objective

You start off speaking to the Foreman he then sends you to the second mining camp (where you pick up some more explosives) Have your runner grab the two NPCs there and use radial to Follow you, bring them back to the first Mining Camp. and set Employ your Forces.

The best tactic to use would probably be send your forces united to the north path of the second Mining Camp. You will have a total of 10 spawns of patrols with some Reapers and some Hammers with some GK-5 Sentries.

Have your group aggro most of the incoming patrols one at a time, have your runner draw some aggro and trail it around the compound. Ensure your runner has plenty of Ruby Stims Force Heal and Synth.

The forces will overwhelm you at some point, fall back to the 2nd Mining Camp, where you try to kill everything in site aggroing on your defenders. You will be able to hold the fort until the Forward Commander MK.I Spawns with his 3 dozen men patrol or so. Proceed to fall back to your 1st Mining Camp right next to where you loaded at first into the instance. The NPCs you deployed together with some more NPCs that will spawn in he area will help you quite a bit.

Now the key is tohave the runner feed aggro to the group and drop the aggro and bring some more, be careful not to have bosses landing on the defender group at the same time, just to make you life easier. You can run withReapers and GK-5 Sentries aggroed on you for quite some time. The key to aggro is once they commence targeting the2nd Camp once you have retreated to the First Mining Camp you can take them from behind and not have to aggro the whole bunch only a few at a time, that you can feed slowly into your defender Group.

If you do this correctly your group will not be overwhelmed and your runner will be able to carry on with the aggro for the most part of the quest until EVERYTHING RED IN SIGHTIS DEAD. lol

The runner can set explosives again by using radial menu on inventory and make it explode, to drop some health on the aggro he has also to pick up some aggro, lay a few of those babies down and enjoy the fireworks.

Hope this helps you as much as it helped us, again depending on the force of your groupyou might be able to approach this differently.

Thanks to Columbus, Rnsthn, -Kindbudz-, Tiino, Skarkbait, Dakota-James, Max-T, and the ALMIGHTY "ORKIN" courtesy of Rnsthn, lol, that bug can tank like the devil himself.

Well enjoy and feel free to correct any typos and or Name changes. Good Luck.

We followed this guide verbatum. It is priceless.

I would however like to put emphesis on the following statement.

1. Report to the "Mustafarian Scout" (3430, -3130) with your full group. This is a very tough fight, so make sure everyone is ready for the hardest combat you have seen so far in this quest. When ready, have your Group Leader speak to the NPC to be sent to the Koseyet Mining Camp (Instanced Dungeon).

I mean to say... Daaaaaaaa*n bobby that's a mean fight. We took 6 jedi, 2 lvl 80 combatants on top of that and the pain, oh the pain...

This fight really wakes you up. When you go in, seriously bring everything you got. It's very refreshing to see SOE put serious hard content in this game. Get "zerg" out of your mind and think tactics. You will not complete this the first time, just accept it.

Thanks for the awesome guide.

question... if you fail the second droid factory can you go straight back to it or do you have to do the war again?

Once you do one instance, you never have to do it again (unless you want to). The Operational Droid Facility has a 4 hour lock-out timer (maybe 5 hours, but we always spend 1 hour in there).

Okay, we figured out the last area of the Operational Droid Facility. Of course you need to aggro the Hands of Doom before they attack the reactor, no brainer. However, only ONE of them turns into the "Doom Bringer," that's the one that can be hit. Everybody focus on that one. We even had some members of our group accidentally hit the reactor and we still did okay. Then the final Double Gold Doom Bringer in the other room aggros and you're done!

We did the Volcano and got up to the CP-K whatever Jedi Droid. When the Beetles started spawning en mass and the explosions went off, most of us died. Also CK drains your force, so some ranged people with Doc skills would be very valuable in this mission. We had 1 more boss mob then HK. I think if we could just manage the Beetles better we'd be okay.

Help! Getting this far:

12. Head to the second level's power core room to find terminal Delta-5 ("J" on the map). Take your time reading, and once you receive your quest update converse with the terminal again for a little laugh.

13. With the Old Research Facility completed, you're now on your way to the Droid Factory on the eastern portion of the map.

But even though we do everyhting the damned terminal wont turn on...any hints??

Did you install the spare parts you get form the spare computer parts boxinto the Main Computer Terminal AND reboot it?

We did and the exact same thing happened to us...... I know we did it the way it was done when this guide was done......I even printedout the guide just to be sure....done it twice both times we get "the terminal has no power".....

Ok heres my solution to the droid invasion no win scenario. Other solutions are certainly valid, but this one is mine

First mistake my group made on the first run was thinking that it was actually all that terribly important to save the bases from attack. Do realize that the ONLY objective that matters is destroying ALL the droids. And that makes a difference because if you try to defend the immediate area of any of the given bases you will end up getting overrun pretty quickly. Also you have 2 hours to win this battle so you have some time to spare. (but not too much, 2 hours to be exact.)

Pre-Invasion Setup

I found that its best to place mines to the left of the power generator base right along the path to that base. Place the troops in the lower canyon of the main base. Posistion your own group roughly on the opposite side of the power generator across the lava pools so that you end up roughly in between the 2 incoming spawn points for droids.

Invasion Begins

At this point in the invasion your main objective should be to stay alive whlie taking on as many incoming hks as your group can comfortably handle. I mainly try attacking the incoming troops near the main base, and I tend to only go after the troops coming from the other side if were just a little too bored near the main base. At all times you want to more or less hug the middle and drag incoming hk's into that middle point between they're spawns at the edge of the lava pools. If you stay close enough to that center most of the incoming hk's should walk past you, andallow your group leader to choose your targetsinstead of your targets choosing you.You may have to swerve a little bit now and then to avoid them as they vary they're paths slightly incoming. Its important all thru this that your group members stick by your side as close as possible.

Under Siege

At some pointyou will recieve a message to the effect of "the commander has entered the battlefield" and shortly after the incoming hk's will cease. If you've done well to this point you will have destroyed the majority of hk's near the main base and will have a blob of hks on the left side of the power generator over the mines you placed previously. Go ahead and blow up the mines and see what kind of damage you can get on them. After the fun with that is over send either a tank in, or have a rifleman draw agro from the rear of the group into your group. Be carefull of course to not pull more than a few bad guys at a time. Keep in mind you do have 2 hours so no need to rush too fast. That just cost lives.

This outlines the majority of how you will procede from here on out. Simply agro the hk's from behind a few at a time until you've killed them all.

Field Commander

After you've pulled enough hks off the army at some point the commander will become a relatively open target. You have to be good and ready to take him on however as while your fighting him he will spawn additional droid reinforcements around him. Ignore any reinforcements he spawns and concentrate all your firepower on him until hes destroyed, then destroy any remaining units. It becomes pretty easy going after the commander is out of the picture. Simply destroy theremaining droids for the win.

Final Tips

- If you have only 1 rezzer available to your group, his best bet in life is to not get anywhere near the fighting and try to stay as non-combative and alive as possible. The loss of 1 extra rifle will not make any sizeable difference to your campain, but if your whole group dies, an alive andhealthy doctor/cm becomes vital.

- Don't stress too much about the placement of mines or npc troops. Although good placement of both is certainly helpfull neither is any sort of requirement. You can accomplish this mission without mines or troops at all.

- Don't become attached to any one piece of ground, be ready to run for the hills if need be and run quickly. Trying to pull a few hk's off the rear can sometimes quickly become 10 - 15hk's, and a slow retreat will only lead to lives lost.

Further bit of advice: if you're a squadleader, do *not* have the "Retreat" command on a toolbar.

I thought I killed our group when I accidently hit it--I'm just lucky they were thinking fast enough that we managed to pull through it.
