Do have to defeat all of the droids to succeed at KMC or is there some trick to it? What are the demolition charges for? There were about 100 droids in that army. Can anyone drop a Bothan a bone?

Whipe them out, ALL of them. (always liked that line)

The demoiltion charges are worthless unless you want to blow your buddies up.

Help! Getting this far:

12. Head to the second level's power core room to find terminal Delta-5 ("J" on the map). Take your time reading, and once you receive your quest update converse with the terminal again for a little laugh.

13. With the Old Research Facility completed, you're now on your way to the Droid Factory on the eastern portion of the map.

But even though we do everyhting the damned terminal wont turn on...any hints??

I've been down to Doom Bringer 3 times. The first time we didn't know about the radioactive material, second some guys got killed off and there wasn't enough to save the material, and third someone was using an AOE. Moral of the story DON"T USE AREAS! You will hit the radioactive material.

...

So we got down to the Doombringer. What do you do when the droids start activating?

Okay, some additions after we wrapped up for the night. (Gated at the Doombringer, but we have our battle plan for tomorrow.) This isn't an official part of Kindarin's guide, but some info that's valuable to know.

The droid army attack on the Koensayet mining camp is fairly easy to turn back for the first few waves if you have a good group. Our group tonight consisted of four Jedi, two MCMs/MBHs, a MBH/Carbineer, and a squadleader/smuggler. As far as I'm concerned, the Jedi could mostly have been swapped out for good dependable melee tanks--I know Kindarin's character is an awesome tank that I'm glad to have in-group.

Anyways, the mission's pretty straightforward until the commander comes. Now, we got smoked twice by him because we weren't planning ahead far enough, so the third time, we had two people hang back while we took out the initial waves of droids. Those two people layered mines near the forward outpost until they had used up *all* the explosives we were given. They also deployed both groups of guards near the forward outpost to prevent the droids from just walking in.

When the commander spawned, we had some lag issues, but we lured the droids over the mines and detonated all of them. Yeah, all of them. It outright dropped some of them, and most of the group had only half health by the time the field was finished detonating. (Incidently, one of our Jedi was still inside the field when we started detonating...poor guy never knew what hit him. We did rez him, though. )

With the droids heavily damaged and some engaged with the guards, our group ran in and took out the commander. Taking out the commander gives a huge edge to the group--you get an automatic buff called "High Morale". It adds +100 melee defense, +100 ranged defense, and +10 combat speed. It lasts for an hour. I'm not quite sure how, but you can also get a debuff for low morale if you fail to kill the commander--I think it's if you fail to kill the commander before they take down the forward outpost.

In recap, you don't need seven Jedi and a squad leader to do the quest--you just need a balanced group. I was the SL and I even screwed us up really, really bad early on--I accidently hit "retreat" instead of "blaze of glory". We almost lost it right there due to my mistake, but we pulled through and made it all the way through the battle.

Oh, and my hats off to the devs for the most awesome instance in the game. Not a one person in my group didn't enjoy it. The entire quest line has been very well-done--dungeons that require thought and teamwork instead of just raw power. I'm having a blast, and looking forward to completing the quest and getting the YT-2400.
