Thread: Friday Feature July 15th: Architect FAQ
However, this is not what Friday Features are supposed to be. This is truly sad.

I'd like to echo the sentiment that the guide is very well-done and 'grats to Pawlin (sorry if I'm butchering the name... it's from memory).

I agree.
I think the FAQ is great.
I think something involving new content would be great for a FF, sometime soon.

In addition, Architects are VERY stagnant in this game.
You've done little to nothing about it, Dev team.
You gave them candles and lamps. That decayed, but never burnt out. Then you made them burn out and poof in a very recent patch. Then you took away the decay.
Houses are boring and old and cookie cutter. There is no colorization for houses externally or internally. There is NO character in any house in SWG, except how it's decorated inside. Towns look so bland. C'mon - we can do better, right? Make the cities look interesting, like NPC cities. Need floorplans? Work off the already existing building scattered all around this game.
You guys haven't evenimplemented colorization of furniture. When was the last time you wentshopping forfurniture, and all that was available in a rounded couch was tan, worn out, old and leathery that could only seat one person? Hell, people have been putting Ottomans inside couches just to get them multi-person. They clip like hell, but it achieves something that you folks haven't seem to have been able to do in 2 years' time. It's not just furniture, there'sa lot more stuff in Architect that doesn't need an overhauling - just some good touching up and a bit of expanding upon.
Experimentation on Fusion Ion Generators remains broken. Want to repeat the steps? Build a Fusion Ion Generator and experiment on it. BINGO!!!!! Been like that for a long time.
Architect is a profession that needs to have new life pumped into it.
And you post a Friday Feature that features a STICKY of what's been the same old, same old since God knows how long? Could have thrown in some glimpses into the future for Architect, at least. Maybe add the few potted plants that are missing, so there's a nice variety of plants. Or those flower beds that hang on the Tatooine housesin Mos Entha, to the left out of the starport -surrounding the recesssed area of tables and chairs? While you're there, lookIN the houses surrounding the area - lots of player-crafted rugs just waiting to be available in-game. How about some railings, like in Dee'ja Peak, at the top of the hill off the shuttleport? Some hanging gardens, for outside? Archways for cities?
Care to follow-up this FF with some nifty Architect information?

dont even bother posting a FF next week if it's the same thing like this
Thanks.
And I do understand most people venting here are just unhappy cause they'd prefer NEW content /info from SOE rather than a link to an existing post from a player. I would too.
I wonder though when SOE looked at the stickies in the Architect forum if they happened to notice ..

This one ?
/hi5
EXACTLY.
Just one of many Architect posts I hope the Devs have noticed in the past year and a half or so.
/boring
Come on....use the force to feel the community here. There are better things we want to hear about
Examples:
--What are the 2-year Vet rewards?
--When is the Bio-Clothing Bug going to be fixed?
--What is in store for the new FRS (and tenative schedule)?
--Any new loot going to introduced?
--Astromechs on current professions (been awhile since a new one was released).
Just some suggestions because architect is pretty easy to figure out on your own ![]()
omg...this is the worst Friday feature ever
next week : How to call your droid

Glad to see you understand that most of us are not bashing your Guide. Simply that it shouldn't have been a Friday Feature. Perhaps when it was first writen it would have been more appropriate... it truely is a great guide, and is very helpful. I used it many many many months ago when I was considering makeing a full time Arc (I gave it up pretty quick). When Q-3P0 did the FF's we almost always got something new... even if it was only a little look at something to come. Now we get garbage 9 out of 10 times becuase SOE just dosnt care.

To be fair, I don't think it's because they don't care.
I just don't think the Friday Feature isbeing giventhe level of priority it used to get.
I understand posting FAQ's draws attention to them, but that's what the profession boards are for. You won't need to draw attention to an Architect FAQ, when the Devs mention a new Architect feature coming up, or an update to decorations or house schematics, or new city structures or decorations. Some Dev posts in the Architect forum would draw attention to the profession itself.
Keeping things fresh and interesting, and evolving, is what drives people's curiosity of different professions.
Really there are net vet rewards all over the place on TC, maybe a feature about would have been helpfull to folks who don't crawl the boards on play on TC.
Oh well, what do I know... I also think software should be tested by the dev group first, then a totally seperated QA group before the beta - then after all that you deliver to your customer
I must not now how to run a big professional shop like SOE
