Thread: Tuesday Tips May 31st Armor Break
Can next weeks Tuesday tip please be about Saber DPS, or maybe Group Visibility for Jedi. Maybe even the Respec Warning popup box. Maybe we could get a few of these things fixed as well, as I'm sure the devs are not aware of these either.
P.S. Premium crystals are not dropping either.
Th honestly do you guys even play this game?
It seems to alot of us your are reading from a piece of papre that says how its supposed to work but in reality its not...
/shrug.. im sorry th i know your just dong what your told but do mind telling the engineers(the devs) that before you can take the car out to the track to test it needs to run first
and that jsut about sums it up

TH - What we are saying is if you have Armor Break you get like a 45% reduction in your target's defense.

isn't this broken if you have the higher levels of it?
No, this ability is working properly. It is a straight number that has been checked.
If I had an idea of what your template was, what weapon you were using, which follow up attacks you used and what your were fighting, I would be happy to look into it further.
However, once you get Improved Armor Break that percentage drops to like 25 or 30%. It should be either the other way around or the Improved Armor Break should be higher than 45%.
I gotcha and I'm hearing you. I've spoken with the developer and looked at the code with him. The code does indeed show a higher percentage than 45%.
I'd like to work with you folks to understand how you are seeing this number so we can duplicate it internally.
(Sorry, but I haven't played a melee character since the CU yet).
I GOT A TIP FOR THE DEVs.
Test the next ability you plan to use on next weeks Tuesday Tips before you actually post it as a tip. ![]()
Sometimes I am not sure whether to laugh at you Devsor cry for the players.Such is the way of SWG. LucasArts, if you ever check these boards, please step in and fix this... by this I mean the entire game.
love, no wait, hate it.

Hmmm... we have to wait for TH to make a toon of a particular prof to get something noticed and tested?
This point alone is very amusingTC-Prime is full of established melee players who have shown time and time again that they're utterly willing and able to test real numbers and give detailed reports, has QA who can easily direct testing through messages on /tcpa or directly to certain players, has players who drop *everything* to respond to specific requests for testing. The tools are clearly there for issues brought up in the TC bug threads, the Live issue threads, and through the devoted correspondents to be actually tested. They'd have copious amounts of specific data in one hour, assuming TC-Prime is, um, up (and, uh, populated). SWG doesn't have to wait for TH to make a certain character, or for a Tip to arrive, or for Live players to suffer for weeks on end.
But no. Instead they give a glance at the numbers in the code and say (to themselves) it's ok... until a Tuesday Tip just so happens to come along![]()
Did you not have all of this information ahead of time? Why didn't you do the math and respec to what you wanted before your time (3 weeks) + 6 extra days was up? It's not rocket science or brain surgery. If you can't figure it out you simply don't deserve to be a Jedi.

We understand some players are experiencing issues with the respec ability ending. Unfortunately, Customer Service will no longer be able to fix these issues. The respec timer started when first logging in after the Combat Upgrade went live on April 28, 2005. The timeframe has since been extended multiple times. If you logged in on April 28th, your respec timeframe would have ended on May 25, 2005. We have given advanced notice in the update notes, as well as posting multiple warnings on the forums about the respec time ending and to be careful when respec’ing.
Unlike many other games, SWG offers players the ability to respec at any time, via standard gameplay and the surrendering/earning of skills. Going forward, all character template changes will need to be made through the legitimate earning of experience and application of that experience to the appropriate skill boxes.
Again, Customer Service will no longer be assisting with respec issues.
Thank you for your patience.
