Did you know...

that armor break done by a swordsman being stacked on a target along with a jedi's armor break results into doing LESS damage to the target? Be sure to avoid that and if it happens to you, /bug it.

Armor Break

The Brawler Profession has a great offensive special ability that works well both solo and in groups. The ability is called Armor Break. Armor Break is a special ability that is granted at the Two-Handed IV skill box and acts as a de-buff on an enemy target.

Armor Break will increase the amount of damage that will be done to a creature, NPC or player for a short period of time. During combat, use the Armor Break ability and then follow it up with your strongest damage dealing move and you will notice a significant increase in damage done to your target. The Armor Break de-buff will last long enough to get off a few attacks - - it's not just a 1-2 combo!

While in a group, all of your teammates that land damage while the enemy is de-buffed will also benefit from the Armor Break effect.

For advanced melee characters, Swordsman Defense I offers Improved Armor Break and Advanced Armor Break at Swordsman Defense III. At the elite profession level, the Armor Break de-buff lasts longer and your opponent will take more damage.

Is Armour Break working properly now? I think that is some cases lower level armour breaks are working better than higher ones.

Except that the Armor Break specials for Brawler/Swordsman and Jedi Lightsabers are busted at the moment. The lower version of the abilities are actually increasing the damage taken by the target MORE than the improved versions...

Yes, yes.

Also just tried to level up a new character for kicks the other day, and discovered the following:

Scout XP is relying entirely on your combat level to determine the amount you gain when you skin a creature.

That means that, if you're a new character and you're trying to level up Scout, be prepared to grind several hours a day for each box.

So my tip: Don't work on Scout until you're halfway to Master "Something combat related." Or else beg Sony to fix this.

"So what you’re asking is “can a lightsaber block a magic missile?” The answer is no. A magic missile always hits its target. Period. The Jedi would move to block the missile, the missile would move, the Jedi would move to intercept again, the missile would move again, etc. Eventually the Jedi would tire or make a mistake and that’s when the Magic Missile would hit." -- Red Mage

Or group with people on high-level hunts... you'll get around 3-5K scout xp per CL80 mob. You do not even need to fight, just stay grouped and harvest after the fight.

I just have the basic armor break and it increases the damage by 45% for slightly less than 30 seconds. Makes a huge difference.
