can a novice ranger ( like myself 4 1 4 0 ) actually place a htfb?
I had a master ranger make me one and I tried in the past and it said I lack the skill to place the camp?
Any suggestions?
What fronterring box do I need so I can place the HTFB?
And if i can place the HTFB can I get additional fronteiring XP by using it as opposed to a
advanced camp?
Thanks

"...hard for mobs to break through..." ???
pssst... the lazer fence is for show only. Freaking durnis get through it with impunity.
Oh yeah, the roof leaks too. Same cheezy fire. And guess what?... the game board is inop also.

HTFB is in the last line of frontiering.

You need to have frontiering IV to use a HTFB (High Tech Field Base). I believe if you place one while overt it shows up on the planetary map as well and you can buy faction items from a terminal? I never actually set one up while overt.
It also instantly teraforms the area around it, so set one up on the top of a tall spire and you have a beacon that can be seen from meters around.

I think it's frontiering III to use the HTFB and IV to craft it. Although the normal Field Base requires the same level to craft as to use. But maybe FS survival might change that.

I know it's been mentioned several times but I was dismissing it as "them old time rangers having a pick on us newbies" BUT...
... if you are overt Imp/Rebel you CAN use your HTFB (mabe others, haven't checked) to requisition weapons and faction installations.
What I haven't been able to check is whether other overt players can also requisition through your HTFB's datapad, also is the camp attackable?
Oh, and you DO appear on the planetary map under the Imperial/Rebel tab. There will be an extra tab in there called "Camps" and that's where other same faction players will find you advertised....
Now, if I could either call a recruiter OR a mission term, I'd be delighted either way.
Anyhow, sorry "old time rangers" for doubting your voracity, lol.

Did you disband the camp? Its on a little data terminal next to the camp. And you max out points after 22 minutes

Leaving a camp and going to fight forfeits all points earned while camping. It's not a good practice. Do what Fodder said and disband before leaving. Also read Brisc's guide at the top of the forum.

So how do you get wilderness points from camps??
I have been in one for 30 mins, then went off to fight. And nothing.
Do I need to do anything special to disband the camp?

I set up a camp and call out 15 things from my datapad (pets, droids, vehicles) and then disband the camp via the radial menu from the camp control thingy. It takes about a minute and a halfand I get around 400-500 xp every time.
