Level system made it impossible to grind up a lower level skill in scouting. Forget about getting Master Scout back after CU.

Yes, you will be able to respec on more time. See Tiggs' recent announcement.
In order to gain trapping xp, you have to trap creatures equal to or slightly above or below your combat level. If you respec'd in and have a combat level of 80, but are a low level scout, this is about impossible, as low level Scouts "can't" stick traps on high level creatures. The trapping skill is just not there.
For people really working their way up it's not that much of a problem. Just trap everything you fight and you will be ok.

Alright, I'm seeing different approaches to gaining trapping xp. Some are saying to drop to a very low lvl combat rating to get around 50pts per kill. Others are saying, we can respec one more time....and I want to know if it's just some kind of f'd up bug that will hopefully...eventually be fixed. DOES ANYONE KNOW??

Lo people, i decided to reroll BH and some marksman skills to scout and ranger, got all the harvesting trees up to lvl 4 but i cant seem to get my traps working on CL80 things... They do work on CL 1 stuff but i dot get any xp from those

As it stands right now yeah you pretty much have to drop enough to get your combat level around your trapping level and you'll get decent exp. GreenMarine stated that the trapping exp is supposed to be fixed in publish 20 however there's reports that even that fix is broken right now on TC.

So basically there is no way to get to novice ranger then? i'm stuck too 4x44 and no way to get trapping unless i want to do 1 point trapping.

Ah, in your case you just might have to, main compromise I can suggest without dropping any of swordsman is to drop all scout exp boxes till you're just novice scout and try using some dweezil. Honestly thought I don't quite think that'll make enough of a difference for you to go any other route than the trapping greys for 1xp.

Well it really depends on what your CL is and what other boxes you've got besides scout 4x44.

i'm at 4440 Ranger and i have +50 Trapping. With the Food that gives roughly 20 to trapping. What level creatures would i be able to trap? I'm assuming 70+ ? But how high would you expect?
