Since the levelled thing came in, I can't seem to hit any critters with traps. I have scout trapping at 3, but everything fails to affect my target. Anyone else noticed this, or am I just being unlucky?

I thinks ur just unlucky. I have trapping 2 and I hit creatures most of the time. It just doesn't grant as many experience points. But as far as failing to hit ur target I think you're just unlucky. Keep trying.

I cannot trap anything unless it is a Gray con. I assume its due to the level changes. I'd say trapping needs to be based on your Combat level again.

yeah, I'm having the same problem - either 1 point of xp or the animals just shrug off my traps

there was a discussion about this on the ranger boards. apparently the traps are only sticking on creatures of a specific level due to the way that the skillset was layed out.

Unfortunately this doesn't take into account how much the creature levels have changed, or how the experience system is currently set up.

For the time being (as you probalby have already found out) your traps will stick mostly to critters that only give you about 1 xp of combat class exp.

The problem I have found is that if i try to use one of the entry level traps on a higher level creature then it does not work. For example, if I try to use a wire mesh trap on a mutated womp rat then it will not work but if I use a stink bomb or a noise maker on the same creature then it works perfectly. I am level 17, so i guess using traps on MOBs that are close to my lvl i have no problems and i have been getting pretty good trapping xp. BTW trapping 4 is the only skill i lack to get novice Ranger. YeeHaw!!!!

I have been using Sticky Mesh and Stink Bombs on creatures of lv 75 in comparison to my 80, and they have been sticking "every other time" from what I can tell.

Im not quite sure I understand what you mean, but you get 1 xp for any creatures 10 or more levels below you in skill (2xp during the double xp period). At level 80, level 70 and lower creatures gain you 1xp (or 2xp).
