The biggest problem for me is the draft scematics, the are all not in groups anymore, it takes me ages to find anything.
In your datapad while viewing draft schematics, if you:
Click "Change View"
Click "Name"
Click "Type"
Click "Change View"
your schametics will all be sorted in groups of the type of schematics they are and within those groups, alphabetically.
(but I do support having an option to use the old method for anybody who doesn't like this method of sorting)

Options in inventory sorting would be good. I prefer that all equipped items are shown at the top, as they used to be, however long ago that was. It seems a few months ago, equipped items were showing up randomly in the middle of my inventory, regardless of when I equipped the item.
Nice that the devs think about us enough to want to help us out, but instead of forcing us to choose a sort option of our inventory, why not just make all equipped items displayed at the beginning of the inventory, looted items/traded items displayed at the end of the inventory, and everything able to be arranged according to our wishes and *gasp* stay in the place we put it?
Sounds like a nice, pleasant solution. *shrug*

Sort like this... Alpha sort equipped items, then alpha sort unequipped items. I would like to see it like that. Personally I don't have a problem with the way it is now, just like any change to a portion of the game that is used a lot it takes some getting used to.

1) I hate the new inventory sort. Removing the way customers have interacted with your product since day 1, without logically adding an easy-to-find option to continue using the product the old way, is a very easy way to destroy customer satisfaction. See "switch to Classic View" in Windows XP. Without it, personally, I would have despised XP from the 1st day I got it.
2)I haven't quite figured it out yet, but sometimes my inventory doesn't alphabetize, and sometimes things DO end up at the bottom of my inventory, like how it used to. I think (total speculation) it had to do with opening your inventory window, and when you're done with it, hit Alt and do NOT close the window. Kill/loot - then hit Alt, your inventory window pops up with new items at the bottom like before. Close the window, it alphabetizes your item. I've noticed that opening a crafting tool will sort things the old way, too. Sometimes. i.e. I pick up 200k of Steel, it sorts under S for Steel, open crafting tool - there's 2 100k stacks of Steel at the bottom of my resource window.
3) This new sorting method has helped me develop my photographic memory skills - I loot "something" and I open my inventory, and think - ok, Warr - what changed? That's kinda helpful, I guess - but, if this alphabetized system was going to be put into place, why weren't loot messages changed to tell us WHAT we looted on the ground - now it's "You completely looted the corpse of all items." What item did I loot? Why will you people tell us in SPACE, but not on the GROUND? If I knew, I'd know where to LOOK for it!
4) Thanks for the news, Tiggs - lots of veteran players in my guild are going nuts from this change, lol.

Hey, how about giving us an update on the completely broked Tier 4 missions stopping us from finishing pilot.... Your "Focus Thread" has absolutely no dev posts or comments in over3 days. We would like to master pilot now? Mind pitching in?
You started the thread, figured you might actually post in it...

I'd settle for categories, you select the option on the bottom of the invetory (near your cash?)
- By date the item was received
- By item type: example like the armor all grouped, weapons, resources, loot, clothing ect.
- Alphabetical order
- Maybe customizable grouping, you select the order of the stuff...and any new stuff is automatically put last unless you move it to first or wherever

when i drag an item/loot and item/accept a tradei should be able to place or recieve that item at the end of my inventory and the inventory should be remembered when i leave the game/shuttle somewhere/go to space/return from space.

Thanks for the reply Tiggs. Just keep in mind that a few people really appreciate the new method too.
We could do something... a little bit... like this:
Options / Misc /
Item Sorting
[ ] Sort by Name Alphabetically
[ ] Sort by Name Alphabetically
[ ] Sort by Name and Type Alphabetically
[ ] Sort by Order Placed in Inventory
[ ]Keep Equipped Items at the Top of the Window
You'd pick just one of the first three and the other option would be a toggle.
This way it wouldn't have to save the setings for each different window. The settings would simply be applied when any container or inventory window is opened.

My positive feedback = it wasn't broken in the first place. Please revert it to how it was before. Thank you kindly.

I'd be happy if I could always have it sort the newest item at the end.
