Best solution is not make it chainable. Example person gets hit with +Root+, once the root breaks he cannot be rooted again by anyone for a period of time.. 20 seconds? 30 seconds? whatever. Doing that would keep it fair, and still usefull.

Suprise, suprise, this turns into a BH/Jedi debate.

Hey, kids, don't forget that Jedi also have a root!

Not every Jedi template does and they do not extend to 60m either.

Ok, serious reply this time.

My suggestion - diminishing returns on rooting. As a BH, I will admit that a chain root can be a bit overpowering. Have the chances for root to stick be reduced to 75% or so on the second attempt, 50% on third, etc. Keep it a viable option, but not overpowering. Problem solved.

First of all there should not be -Root- moves in a star wars game. Its inappropriate to even call it that. At least make up some realistic term for this rather than using a magicesque term. Second, this move is way too powerful. There needs to be a counter to it. Perhaps a -Root- Recovery like the other state recovery moves or just make it break on damage.

Kurt,

Any word about the +ROOT+ that are being exploited? Or is it working as intended that players can use them to keep others perma rooted? I was also reading that damage should break a root? Is this true?

Stopping Shot does not break when damage is done.

Although you shouldn't be able to "perma-root" someone one on one. There is a timer to prevent that, though there are combinations that can makerecovering from the rootdifficult.

Now in a multi-player PvP situation, it is entirely possible for four pistoleers to "chain-root" a single opponent in combat, but hopefully that person brought along friends

OK, smart guy. You take this exact statement to the Dev team and have them then explain how Jedi vs. multiple BH can NOT BE HELPED by anyone else in the exchange.

How about you "Devs" work on actually...oh, I don't know...balancing this game after your glorious CU? Lightsabers have a pitiful DPS to the point of Jedi using RIFLES for God's sake to do any REAL damage. Pathetic! Force regen is stupidly slow and effectively is a penalty to Jedi - nobody else deals with FOUR HAM bars, do they?

Stop allowing this game to be the biggest joke of MMORPG's and save it like ol' Smed insinuated with his post. DO SOMETHING. This game is falling apart, and all you folks seem to do is keep your mouth shut and your nerf bat flying.

Thank you for confirming that we Jedi have no hope against BH chain rooting, what a GLORIOUS addition to this now "balanced" game - complete shutdown of a melee player's ability to move, with no hope of recovery. That's what I call FUN!

P.S. For the umpteenth time, MAKE ELITE ENTERTAINER SKILLS USEFUL AGAIN. Each and every Dev should be absolutely ashamed that they left an OBSOLETE skill mod in elite Entertainer professions' skill trees(Dancing/Musical Mind Enhancement). Hang your heads in shame, then chins up and DO SOMETHING.

What a horrible state this CU has put the game in, and what a pity nobody seems interested in actually FIXING it. Wasn't this supposedly going to make the game BETTER? Well, boring combat with default moves, "fighting" while staring at each other regen action bars, and buggy "abilities" for almost every friggin profession is BETTER, then I'll take the sucktastic pre-CU SWG, thank you. I prefer the version of the game that was "worse" because none of you seem interested in correcting the horrible problems you put in with the CU.

How about we see some serious effort around here? We're all still waiting, and it's been a month since ol' Smed's post. Perhaps Smedley can tell all of us if being "patient" is a justified request, when it involves one whole MONTH of subscription fees?

TH since you are here I'd like to adress you with a bit of a concern in the comunity, epecially jedi. The respec period is about to end but there are still major issues with alot of jedi skills being broken, messed up, not working correctly, working too well, force costs messed up etc. A few major issues with lower level skills not accesable because you have the higher version of it when the lower version is more desirable in some instances. Examples like force run, force armor, etc.. Now the respec will end and we choose our skill layout based on the current situation, tomorrow you fix, nerf, or break something and our template stinks now, or would have been better suited for us a different way because of what you have changed.

With the way things are for most jedi that were in the frs system we are severely in the -xp most even at the cap of -10 mill. Not from BH deaths but from pvp. Under the new system you only lose xp from a BH death. Since most of us our -xp wasnot fromBH deaths it seems a bit unfair for us to be in the -xp especcially when you will continue to change things drastically and we wont be able to retemplate. At the very least -xp should be reset to 0 so we can retemplate at the very least due to your changes after the respec period is over. Its not our fault that the system is unfinished and we shouldnt be punished for it.

You see the problem?

Sure do. We've raised the issue internally. We can'tget instant information regarding a resolution, but we can surely let you know when there is.

Yes...because this is a big surprise. You never thought about this before and never seen anyone complainabout it.

Do the community a big favor - read each professions issues list. There are a bunch of other issues you should be aware of so you aren't suprised by something that is obvious to everyone else already.

This is so maddning, I'm just sick.

The CU have been out for a month and people still doesnt know this...

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

QFE. Best solution. Being a solo BH, I already have a cooldown timer for stopping shot. However, I do agree that multiple BHs should not be able to chain root. Actually, in any PvP situation, chain rooting shouldn't be allowed.

It is not..NOT unfair that i as a ranged profession can root someone, "giving me the advantage of unfair damage" Geez, if i actually let a melee guy come close to me he'll probably whoop my a$$.

If thats unfair, then all knockdowns are unfair, i mean i cant strike back when im knocked down.

Okay, in the situation where 3 guys chain root someone, that might seem unfair yeah, but its a 3vs1 situation and the poor 1 guy will be toast anyway (unless its a jedi). In a 1vs1 situation that little root might just not make a difference, it might rather put me to equal footing with the melee guy.

The game is not designed like "a blow for a blow", a melee guy can seriously smack a ranged guy if he manages to get up close.

Pssst, did you knew that when a bounty hunter have a mission on you, friends cant help? Yeah, it was made that way in the Galactic Civil War upgrade. It was a couple of months ago really... I dont know why you missed it. It was on the website and all, lots of friday features about it etc.

Just add a +root+ recovery and make them all happy. Everyone can still root and now you can recover. Still good in PvE and still has a timer in PvP.
