Bieng rooted and not bieng able to do anything while getting pounded is not balnce sir.

TH, please keep PVE in mind when applying any changes to Root.


I never do PVP, and I'd hate to see root nerfed into uselessness because some people were abusing it in PVP.


Perhaps give PC's high resistances to Root?

The thing about "fixing" it by limiting the distance is that 95% of melee moves have ranged that are still shorter than 30m. You'd have to brign the range down to 10m or even less to benefit from it.

Yes, everyone agrees. Stopping Shot is a great tactic in PvE. It can definitely put a player in a rough spotin PvP. It is also important to consider that the BH/Jediuse of this abilityis part ofa larger situationthanthe use of a single move.

you cant compare warcry to roots its not even close. Roots only prevent you from movement not attack, warcry was pretty much a paralyze attack. A compromise is reducing the distance of root attacks to 30m so that nothing the attacker does extends beyond the range of the defender. In order to re-root you he would have to fall within range of being vulnerable to a stasis/paralyze/root attack him/herself






Rofl do you play swg? cause sure doesnt seem so. A jedi has a 32m range for attack....a bh with stopping shot, can root the jedi and get out of range. it happened to me the other day in bestine..im full template jedi, got rooted and the guy just went out of rang and started hitting me..i couldnt do anything about it, just like when dizzy/kd/warcry i couldnt do anything about...the difference is that in one type i was on my back, and on the other type im standing, but essentially its the same effect. now even worse it gets if its 3-5 bh doing that same thing vs 1 jedi. 1 bh i can deal with the damgae...multiple bh it starts bieng harder and harder. stasis is not an option since it is a menhacer skill and to become a menhacer now in cu is just suicide(i loved menhance but cant be one).if you want i can explain in more simple fashion, or leave it at that.

shouldnt be a benefit to standard melee, its the only counter to melee that ranged professions have. We have rate of movement penalties for holding a pistol, somehow a pistol is more encumbering than a 10m pike. Its also worth mentioning that when we were testing the CU I created a melee profession that still did fine even with rooting attacks. Just make sure you land an intimidate and use those instant stimpack d's during the root. If you burst run or eat parawan you can catch back up to the person in no time.

Stopping Shot does not break when damage is done.

Although you shouldn't be able to "perma-root" someone one on one. There is a timer to prevent that, though there are combinations that can make recovering from the root difficult.

Now in a multi-player PvP situation, it is entirely possible for four pistoleers to "chain-root" a single opponent in combat, but hopefully that person brought along friends




That doesnt help young padawans against 3 vs 1 bounties





But staying off the terminals does.

didn´t youbrought in the resolutionwith todays update? with nerfing the saber action costs Jedis are cancelling their accounts everywhere, so no Jedis anymore, no need to fix it

yes noob i play swg, check the registration date, I played even before live even back when we had to walk everywhere, not all of us know the game from the time of player cities and vehicles. Some of us remember 10min shuttle waits and moving on foot trying to do missions and level up. Im not saying a fix isnt needed, im saying your solution is just as rediculous because your demanding your own 'i win' button in exchange for someone elses. I have other proposals in place for multi-bh but thats not even the current discussion because multi-bh are going to win against a padawan even w/o this special. Every jedi hunting bh may use this special but not everyone using this special is a jedi hunting bh. You are being very selfish in your goal and whats worse wont admit it. I seek to find you chances and abilities and you just want a walk in the park. Im sorry but incase noone told you, there is no 'IDKFA' command in this game. The pistol wielder has less damage than a rifleman and its not as though rifle specials enhance pistoleer the same way pistoleer specials enhance rifleman. Dont destroy a pistoleer profession just because you dont like the way a rifleman uses it. Its better to change it. I can assure you that if it was reduced to 30m I could stasis them before they could get that second root off.
