1. Mastering Marksman and thinking I was l33t.

2. Thinking that afk surveying was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

3. Having 20k credits and thinking I was rich.

4. Not having a clue how to find my way around.

5. Learning from eveyone else. (good times, good times)

I remember when the game first came out my starting city was Mos Eisley; Iremeber desperatley wanting to get to Anchorhead- Only I didn't want to spend the little change that I had on a ticket. So I tried to hike it..I turned on Mask Scent and started my journey. On my way I helped a group battle a fierce Bantha....had fellowship with the Jawas( they helped me against the keetles), and found what would be my Nemesis for many months ahead..the Squill.

The 2 other players (I forgot there names I apologize) that decided to join me in my Trek were first to spot them laying down...I remember laughing at how funny they looked;I remember them gettingup and slowly walking in our direction "they are so slow I thought"....one moment later..."OMG they are so fast"--I remember learning that burst run didnt workso well going up a hill....I remember my first "real" trip to the cloning center(we had the 3 free deaths)

The Corpse run was Epic...I had died 2 times before getting my original corpse back;this all on the first night of playing-I had the best time then, sometimes im tempted to dismantle or start a new character to recapture the adventure and excitement that being a new character provides...a the end game now leaves much to be desired.

Man, what a great thread... brings a tear to my eye.

My roomie and I have a network so I got SWG a day after he did and we used to hoof it from AH to Jabba's Palace with only the waypoint to guide us. No bikes, no mounts, and the first time only pure grid navigation to get us there to make a waypoint. I don't remember if the /waypoint command was implemented, and if it was I didn't know about it. We, and I mean *all* of us were still figuring out the key commands....

EVERYTHING was red

Squills were terrifying. I still remember the sheer adrenaline soaked sense of accomplishment I got after soloing my first one.

Rontos were uber pets.

20k was a lot of money.

Nobody could train for a day or so, but after that, AP was never a problem.

I almost pooped my pants the first time I harvested a rancor and got over a thousand scouting xp.

I remember the catch in my throat as I stumbled accross the old Lars Homestead. (Could it be? IT IS!! PAT COME LOOK!!)

When I played EQ I started when it was about a year old, and I always wondered what it was like to be that first guy (or gal)in Perma who stumbled accross Lady Vox (/g Hey guys come look at this big room I found and...ah hell LOADING, PLEASE WAIT) and what it was like to be part of that first group that took her down without all of the resist gear that is common on the SpecOps groups that go after her and Naggy now. (From "Uh... ok let's see, she's an ice dragon, so let's try thewizard's heat spells. Crap... RUN!!!" then to the now familiar "We're gonna go in, the clerics are gonna buff us all with Rune and theWizards will mem their fire spells while the Necros gettheir Mana Battery spells ready...If you die, don't worry, the clerics have their coffins and the Clerics have their clicksticks at the ready.") I still wonder how many corpses rotted in there before corpse retrieval was fine tuned to it's present levels....

This game gave me the opportunity to be one of those brave pioneers, exploring the game with little more than a CDEF and a list of waypoints that may or may not have changed from beta, burst running away from an angry... kreetle? Hey, they were pretty scary at one point, especially in a group.

Add to that, that I was the original Star Wars Kid. I had a broomstick lightsaber and a Karate gi that served as my Jedi outfit. Or a black towel when I felt a little more... eeveel.

And for that, bugs or no bugs, this game will always have a very special place in my heart.

To the original poster... thanks for the great memories.

this thread is awsome.

well i used to steal peoples camp chairs and sell them for 50 credits a piece. this was before patch 3 (i think) and you could steal pritty much anything. i have people coming up to me saying "when i was a noob i bought like 10 camp chairs from you and used the mas furniture. do you have any left??? ill pay 50k a piece." lol. i also used to run around finding hermit spawns and stealing the furniture from inside the tents. i also used to steal the fruit stands from bestine. still have one

and the first time i saw the space port shuttle land in the space port inmy home town (espa) it was right above me and was like "its going to crush me!!!! help!".

and i remeber selling my 3 melons on the bazaar for 20 credits a piece and logging on everyday seeing if they had sold. now everytime im searching the bazaar for a D18 for a noob friend or something, i always buy all the melons in the galaxy, just because i can remember trying to sell mine.

I remember being on the list of firsts of people who could make blasters other than CDEFs. Selling a D18 for 8k was fun

Grinding away at bone armor in the Bestine crafting square because nobody really had a house yet.

Seeing dozens of personal harvesters on top of good resource spots

Ganging up on Desert Demons just so we'd live through it

Running (yes running) all the way to the middle of Tatooine "just because"

As for beta, whee that was fun:

running around Theed for hours the first day I was in beta

killing shallow tortons on Rori with a good friend

being the "bothan gangbanger" with my cornrows

making 50k credits off of intercity delivery missions on Rori (each mission paid a good bit more than what a ticket cost, so you can figure it out from there )

The first time I saw imperials with at-st's coming into town wearing storm trooper armor like two days after I started playing. I was wearing my scout camo pants and a wife beater, the imperial took one look at me and said, "rebels are so poor they cant even afford clothes." But Im imp now so understand what he meant.

Well, let's see...

I remember getting incapped my first day on Rori (in Narmle) by a thug someone else lured into town.

I wanted to be a weaponsmith, but I didn't know how to experiment on my products until I had nearly completed Artisan engineering. I remember giving some guy a weapon powerup that was probably 3% effective, if that. He used it, then came back later and told me it was great! When I finally figured out how to experiment AND that copper was the best metal to use, I made the "uber" CDEF pistol (probably 58 max damage) and was a hero to my friends.

I remember walking all over Rori, but swinging a WIDE path around red dots. Also, walking to my harvester was usually a crap shoot.

I remember a friend of mine (smurfet) giving me a complete set of bone armor. I thought I was Rambo back then. A friend named Adianna got me into the rebellion, and also eventually gave me a scout blaster (I was so poor back then).

I remember how disappointed I was the day I made Novice Weaponsmith; Artisan experimentation points didn't count! I had to start all over again...

And lastly, I remember my return to Rori. I left it some time back when business started to dry up, never to return until recently. The first thing I did was have a slaughterfest involving everything that used to kick my tail. Felt so good.

I remeber not 5 days after release I was like, "I'm going to go to Yavin-4!" Wow, was that a bad idea. No one had really mastered ANYTHING yet, and I was barely a Brawler. I spent ALL of my money getting there only to find out that there wasnt a snowballs chance in hell to kill anything. I ended up doing Delivery Missions for about 15-40 credits a piece to save up the 3000 credits or so to get a shuttle back to Coronet. I was there easily for 4-5 hours... and never saw another player the entire time I was there. Leads me to believe that I was the first player from Starsider to see Yavin.

Man that was a bad idea.

My favorite was seeing someone with a Rancor walk by, and everyone be like OMG!!! Did you see that!?

Or gathering 4 friends and trying to kill a storm trooper only to end up dead every time.

-Getting my first 10000 credits from Naboo delivery missions.
-Selling travel packs near the crafting stations up the hill from the Keren starport for 400cr, only to have a NOVICE TAILOR(!!!) come and start giving them away for free.
-A character named "Complaint Department"
-2000 credit gnort missions out of Kaadara. Old-timers, you remember these. I think I still have my "gnort pwner" CDEF carbine somewhere.
-Running like hell from fanned rawls outside the Keren starport.
-Getting a group of people together to hunt flewts, only to be aggro'd and killed by a plains hunter when we reached our first mission.
-Reaching Pistols 3 and thinking, "Wow, I've got Body Shot 2! I'm unstoppable!!"
-Hand-sampling the 16 units of Fiberplast I needed in order to make myself a Headwrap. I was on a 20-something concentration, the sampling alone must've taken 25 minutes.
-Getting a Descartes DX2 pistol, one of the first on Chilastra (I still have it, too!)
-Setting up my guild's PA hall.
-My guild's original city, 2000m south of Keren, overrun by nightspiders (poison spitters, king venom, etc), and we beat them all back. We thought we were total badasses.
-Being able to call a Gurreck with no CH skills.

My most memorable time has to be the first time I actually got to play. It was the first evening of the launch (we all remember the morning of lauch ). I had just loaded in to Mos Eisley and I started running around town checking everything out. Within a few minutes I drew my first aggro. I'm not sure if it was a Valurian or one of Jabba's thugs, but I was immediately under fire. I turned and ran as fast as I could. It really got my heart pumping to see all the blaster bolts wizzy by me as I ran.
