i started in october, so my memories are still a bit fresher
my first day, i bought the game and a pre-paid game card as i was waiting for the game cards so i could play, they came out so i bought it, i got home and read the manual, fully, was all excited, spent 15 minutes after i installed the game, trying to figure what class and race to be, i figured human scout......then i booted it up, watched the intro, was even more excited, then i was about to make myself a human scout...and then i saw wookiee, decided to start as a wookiee scout, then i had to choose what local to start, i didnt know what to do, so i choose mos eisley, then i went threw the training and loaded up in mos eisley and i found myself looking at a npc, i tried to talk to it, i hit converse, he asked me if i wanted a mission so i took it, started to run out of the city, ran to the waypoint, gave a guy something, ran back to the npc and gota few hundred credits and a used travel ticket, then i decided to run out of the city and use my cdef pistol to kill some stuff, met 2 guys out killing things, they asked me to teach them wookiee so i did, and they taught me all the compression langauges, then i started to run around and i got lost, somehow i found my way to anchorhead, met some nice ppl who made me some weps that at the time were godly, one even took me to moenia and gave me more stuff and hunted with me, and naboo was so damn cool
My first memory was of selecting one city then changing my mind and using my shuttle ticked to get to Mos Eisley. I could not find the door to exit the starport after running for 45 minutes. I decided to make another Char on Coronet then I went just outside town I was awed by the beauty of the place. Then I saw guys shooting at creatures with laser pistols! Wow what a Star Warsy feeling that was! I was so happy I had decided to buy this game.
After a couple of days I figured out how to use the overhead map so I went back to my main Tatoine Character. I remember joining a 20 man group to go to Wayfar to hunt Tuskens. It was a great feeling to be in such a large group for the first time. Needless to say some foolish people could not resist attacking the animals we passed and we got pulled into battle. We started the hunt a 5:30 pm and after waiting for people to recover from incaps and deaths we reached Wayfar at about 10:30 pm (the departure location was Bestine). By the time we reached the Tusken bunker only about 10 people were left. After attacking the Bunker I was one of only three survivors! I felt really proud of that at the time. Then I started worrying about the long run back to bestine with no maskscent.
I remember starting on Naboo and seeing a jawa stun rifle on the bazaar for the first time. I shuttled to Corellia, bought some and came back to Naboo where no one had them yet and made a killing!
Remeber when you actually knew some people in your starting city and they weren't in your guild?
Remember everybody hanging out near the crafting stations in the city and waiting for weaponsmiths to give out free guns...whohoo got my dl44 with a scope that way...I still have that gun...
