Is there a tip or trick to getting chat logs to be saved in swg files? Much of the chat is useless, but often I engage in very informational and helpful chat.
Not positive, but I think to start saving the chat, its just /log

Not completely sure (and I'm at work so can't test this easily), but I'd have thought that "/bright" enables you to change the brightness level of the game on your screen.
Try typing "/bright" followed by either a whole number, or a decimal number between zero and one (eg "/bright 25" or "/bright 0.5") if I'm right then one of those should make a difference to what you see on screen, and then its only a matter of experimenting to find the right number.
You'll probably find that "/bright" on its own is the same as "/bright 0" which I would have thought is zero brightness, aka black.

/harvest milk
let's you get the milk from a dead (milkable) creature... useful if you forget to milk them before hand (also works to a lesser extent even if you DID milk them)
I beleive that this was nerfed with publication 12.

/ui action clearCombatQueue is probably one of the most helpful commands for combat macros... I personally use it to clear my queue before heals and kd/suppression moves

Now that your datapad auto-sorts, crafting macros that rely on /selectdraftschematic have problems.
You can get around the "guessing game" of finding the correct schematic number by replacing that line with this one:
/ui action defaultButton;
Now just start your crafting tool and select what you want to craft manually. It can sometimes help to make the first one by hand.
The next time you run the macro, the last thing you crafted will be selected and the "defaultButton" command will just advance the tool to the resource selection screen.
This is so much easier than the 'selectdraftschematic' method because you don't have to modify your macro every time something changes. The only difference is that you have to select the one you want to craft manually the first time you do it.
5 *****'s for the mostest awesomest tip ever!
This new database-resorting by alphabetical order has been extremely frustrating, as you can no longer just count down the list to find the schematic you want.... the "internal list" is still in the old order, and not what you see.
Thank you!!

Also of note you can turn the autosorting off as per the Jan. 13th patch notes
Inventory
* Added checkboxes to force sorting the player's datapad and inventory contents. When run the first time, these values should default to "on". The toggles are located under the options/interface UI. Turning them off will give the behavior that occurred before the auto-sorting feature was introduced.

TH: Crazy or Eccentric?
Simple test...if he's rich, he's merely eccentric. If he's poor, he's crazy.

I learned about Aliases not too long ago, I love them.
I use:
/alias tc /target corpse; /loot; /harvest meat
then /tc targets, loots,and harvests
/alias lox /tell loxorsim (insert your friend with a long name, hehe)
then /lox to avoid mistells
/alias go /target speeder; /pause 1; /mount; /dismount
(could also point to a macro that uses atoolbar slot with the bike in there)
/alias sm /macro 1; /macro 2; /macro 3
when you wanna fire off a series of macros quickly
Also, to those who spam snoring, coughing, waving, standing, etc. to stay online while AFK..... just set /mood none and you won't fill up people's chat windows. Or use /mood tired and the animations when you come back will remind you to take the AFK off your head.

If you don't have Novice Entertainer, you can use the /sing command to generate the motions of a text-prompted action, without actually saying anything!
For example, if you don't have the Novice Entertainer skill, you can type:
/sing hello
Your character will say nothing, but they will wave just like they do when they usually say hello outloud!
This helps make interaction a little more "natural" in-game, and lets you avoid a billion /emote pop ups when you just want to keep nodding in a conversation - they see you nod, why bother giving them the chat bubble above your head?
Incidentally, I'd love to have a way to /silentnod or something - a specific command to generate movements of your avatar without generating a chat bubble. Just like how /sing works without Novice Entertainer. But more "official."
P.S. If you *do* have Novice Entertainer, you get a nifty chat bubble shape that looks like a scroll whenever you type /sing and then whatever you want to sing. Only Entertainers can actually sing and get the chat bubble shape. Non-ents, however, get to do motions without actually saying anything.
