/note gives you a pad so can jot down all those troublesome door codes in the geo cave , corvette etc.. for future use, and it stores on your hard drive so it will still be there after you log .

Nope - Lithium did a maintenance on the boards last night and it seems some of my posts are a little wonky...

Sometimes it is just the most simple things that I find too funny.
I can't help but laugh each time I look at that post now.

TH-- Quick question for ya regarding a Tip from a few weeks ago...

You said that you can put items into your droid's storage compartment by dragging the item over your droid in your datapad, didn't you?

I can't make this work... I've tried it both with the droid called and with it stored. When I move the item on top of the droid icon in my datapad, it just turns into a NO symbol and won't let me drop it.

Is this a bug? Or did I misunderstand what you meant by your tip a few weeks ago?

You've got a droid with item storage, right? (Just checking )

Sure do. Does this work for you??

**EDIT** Aha! My bad. He DID write it up that you have to have the droid out and drag it to the droid itself.

Speaking of "wonky", this new forum skin (dark purple entertainer skin) make the navigation page numbers in posts really hard to use. They're black text on dark purple background. I have to click and drag to highlight to see them.

/harvest milk

let's you get the milk from a dead (milkable) creature... useful if you forget to milk them before hand (also works to a lesser extent even if you DID milk them)

Nice list Ybagi! That will definitely come in handy, along with a number of other tips posted here.

As a ranger that occasionally collects milk, having the / command for that will help out immensely, as will the knowledge that it will still work on dead creatures. Although being able to milk a creature twice in this way sounds like a minor exploit.

I use my own variation of the speeder macro when I want to keep my scent masked: /dismount; /maskScent; /pause 1; /mount;. This comes in especially handy when badge hunting at the various POIs, which are often long distances from any shuttleport. I didn't realize that putting the name of your mount/bike after the mount commands was possible though, so now I will change my macro and not have to target my bike every time!

If it becomes useful to hunt in groups more often after the Combat Upgrade than it is currently, the "/dismiss self" command will come in very handy when you've got to leave but the group wants to continue hunting. I've been the leader of more than one group that ran off to keep hunting when I told them I was going to log out and I had to chase them down and take the time to find someone that wanted to or was willing to become the new group leader, then target them and use the /makeLeader command to transfer it. It would have been MUCH simpler and faster to just type /dimiss self and then log out!

Cool! I always like messing with reticles and such in any game that has them as I like them to be fairly minimal. The default SWG one just takes up too much space and is too busy for my liking, so hopefully I'll find one more to my liking. Also, as a guy it's not in my nature to think of asking for help from a stranger , so the next time I get stuck and I can't or don't want to wait for one of my friends to log on, I'll just ask some of the locals!

The building commands are just a cool time saver for me since I end up paying the maintenance on three houses and a PA hall. So instead of running to each terminal, opening the structure status window to see how much is left, and adding maintenance, then having to repeat this procedure several times over, I can just step in the front door, type /struct stat, type /pay and the amount, hit enter and then escape, and be done. Then when I get to the next building, I just push the up arrow key twice (where I have ChatHistoryPrevious mapped to) and hit enter, hit up once and enter, type the amount, hit enter and escape and move on. With it all typed out it sounds like a lot more work than it really will be, trust me.

For my tip, I use the First Person Shooter keymap, with movement mapped to ESDF instead of the traditional WASD, which frees up keys around each of my fingers for other functions. For example, I have the attack command mapped to the Q key, clearCombatQueue mapped to A, and a macro with /tellPet attack commands mapped to W. With this setup I can use the most often-needed commands with one key press and they're only one key from where my hand is anyway. All the lesser-used commands, like bringing up the datapad, e-mail, and the world map such, are mapped to ctrl-d, ctrl-e, and ctrl-v, respectively. Hope this helps someone!

Edit: Crappy Lithium system and it's 1) insistance that I'm using an HTML command when I am clearly not, and 2) not displaying the extra lines I've taken the time and effort to include!

a Tip for Entertainers-

  • You can Deny anyone your services typing the /Deny (xxx)command.

This will mean that they can no longer use you for Heals/Buffs etc

  • Typing /Help in game brings up many different commands which are very usefull

And for anyone who is wondering... 1 second of real time is 6 seconds in planetary SWG time as far as I can tell. So a 24 hour day passes in game in 4 hours.

No, I calculated it once (stop laughing). It's 8:1

Actually I just recaluclated it and it seems that one minute passes in 8 seconds, so it's more like... 7.5:1.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Is there a tip or trick to getting chat logs to be saved in swg files? Much of the chat is useless, but often I engage in very informational and helpful chat.
