Or take Mr Sharde/Edarhs take my bro Limpy out to grind his levels & trap while he fights low level beasties 
Hes good for AP as well for yuor forth coming Pikeman 
BTW as an old timey BH I forgot how excellent phecanine traps are

Throw ALL your traps. One trap might give you 100XP per creature, but if you throw SIX different traps at him, that's 600XP per creature. I agree with JB, traps and wilderness survival seem to give everyone else a fit and are the first trees I master. Odd.

I've happily trapped Kimogilas. Just the regular ones mind you, not enranged or the higher levels. It is nice to see a kimo blind, dizzy, stunned, snared and crying its lil eyes out. Im twisted like that I guess.

Ive been able to trap up to................WORK BRAIN!!!! /slapself err anyway it was an enraged bull rancor. though they got hit by AOE's

Whats the strongest thing that a Master Ranger can successfully trap on a regular basis?

Depends on your level and what trap your using. Trapping has a modifier like all other skills. I believe the top i have trapped is a 55 on a consistent basis with Ranger advanced trapping 4. And that was using flash bomb and sonic pulse traps.
I do remember a couple bull rancors that got stunned from the sonic pulse so the top CL i have done is probaly higher. But if its on a consistent basis id say 55.

Regularly trapped the Dune Kimos I was fighting today. You get 2000k experiance for each one.

I love trapping rancors, phec darts and glow wires seem to work very consistently and if you can find an enraged bull, I believe it's 2k of xp per, I am a rifleman also and a dxr6b rifle makes short work of most rancors, just be careful not to get the attention of too many of them at once.

My traps never affect creatures, that arent noobie stuff 
Nothing bigger than a wort is affected by any of my 4 types of traps at Trapping 1

That's because you're at trapping 1.
When you get higher, you'll be fine. You've gotta start low and level up.

can anyone tell me whats best to do? i mean im only going for master scout, as my template only allows for ranger 0040. So any clues? 
, is it possible to use a rangers traps for better xp?, i must admit i dont like trapping, or survival but im doing both outside mos eisley now on farstar if u wanna socialise

Honestly, I had a lot of success with Nightspiders outside of Moenia. Just get buffed, get a buttload of traps of both type and just alternate them over and over on the same critter.
