Sorry to sink ur board there Marksman but the voting is EVERY week. I understand why its done, but in all honesty what % of the population will devote an entire skill tree to this field? I'd say that some towns will have trouble finding a person to run it, little own have much competition. I'm in a PA with over 50 members and I'm the only one who's put my hat in the ballot for our town. Not many people, except for artisans who are already combat gimped, will probably be willing to take this up

Dont forget to add the little things that will really give a town feel - like options for a central square - road tiles - fountains for center or around - Outdoor tables and cafes - street lights etc. Tree palcement options and plants - Strret signs - or a large city entrance arch.

I would like to make a suggestion for another building...

Apartment buildings!

These could be tall buildings (like in Coronet) where players can buy a condo, have a picture window (like in the large houses - the dark glass window) to look over the city.

Each apartment would still have storage of 75-150, elevator access to different floors, a registry on the lobby floor, etc. This would allow more people to live in a city without having to take up valuable land space. Some people also prefer living in towering skyscraper (I do). Maybe have them take up 1 land lot, Make the buildings a max of 10 stories, and allow 5 condos per story? An apartment building housing 50 players? Might be very interesting...

Clarification on my last post....have the condo's take up 1 player lot, not sure how the buildings and city lots work...

I don't think this would be difficult to do...most of the building art is in the game...the room art is mostly in the game, elevators are in the game...this would also save on database too...instead of 50 houses, you just have 50 rooms, couple hallways, a lobby, and maybe afirst floor merchant shop for condo ownersin one building.

Don't know, hope this suggestion at least gets looked at, I think it would be fun =)

Inquiry: Is there any chance that y'all can tweak what terrains buildings and structures can be placed on? I find it highly irritating that I can't drop a medium mineral harvester on what appears to be an obviously flat and unoccupied piece of buildable land... and that I'm blocked from building a house on a spot where there's a oh-so-tiny gully running through where I want to put it.

If you don't loosen up the placement restrictions like this, cities are going to be bloody difficult to place.

That's why I suggested they flatten the area around the city hall. Land on corellia is hard to impossible to find a nice big area that can support a city without looking like a cluttered peice of crap The size of the flat area can be expaned as the city grows too! They could change the ground around the city hall too to have the tiled look of the cities already in game.

I am so excited about the potential of player cities! I am also very curious what the prerequisites for Politician will be. We know that Urban Planner will be an "elite-elite" profession above Master Architect, but what of Politician? The most logical existing disciplines would be the Business or possibly Surveying lines of Artisan, but both of those are actually a stretch. I'm hoping that it will be a new starter profession, as it doesn't seem to fit well as an offshoot of any of the current professions, without just sticking it somewhere contrived.

I'm looking forward to being able to beautify the area around our PA and homes, with parks and such, fountains, statuary, trees and gardens (wishing, hoping for these last few) also hopefully sidewalks/footpaths so we don't seem like we're just out in the wilderness anymore. Of course, the city buildings and facilities are wonderful, as well.

There's just so much to anticipate!

Devs please answer this question that lingers in every PA leaders nightmares

being forced to take up politician to make their own PA its own city.We already sacrifice 9 lots.

well i hope u can give word if your working on a system where the mayor building terminal can detect a PA hall close by and allow for the pa leader to become mayor w/o being voted in or work some way like that.
