Agreed, I would be more sold on this change if SOE found someway to compensate people on that. However it could be (in their eyes) that people who took advantage of this were exploiting the bugged code for what determines armor and thus deserve no compensation because it was an exploit. Everybody knew that the belt was classified as armor, yes? Which is why it took AAs. Plenty of people also knew that it was considered armor if you equipped it with other armor, then took that armor off. But people still used it.
I'm playing devils advocate here, for the record.
It seems silly that people dumped so much into those things and now they're being told "too bad". But, on the other hand, everybody knew that it was technically armor, and they knew Jedi weren't supposed to be able to wear anything classified as armor (and therefore, unable to use AAs), yet they used the bug to wear them. SOE should have declared this a bug a long time ago and told people that they were going to change it, that would've at least made sense. But at this point, I think they have at least some justification in not simply converting these. People abused a bug (whether SOE said so or not, it seems clear that Jedi's wearing an item that's classified as armor is a bug) and they fixed it. This will make people unhappy, and they're justified in feeling that way.
So..um...both sides are right, I gues.
why should people be compensated
Everyone knew they were skirting the sistems
1) They are made by Armor smiths
2) They take AA's
3) The name is Mabari Armorweave Belt
The fact that it has no protection has no relevence. Other items that are armor have no protection
Just the fact that they take AA's is the clue that they are armor. So everyone knew.
SOE gave people a break by making the ubese shirt clothing but there is no reason they are required to do the same thing again. There is also no reason for SOE to reward people for knowingly using an item they shouldn't because of a bug, so there is no need for compensation.

Want to know whats funny, my MBH/MR alt use the exact same belt and has +24 Rifle Accuracy with +25 Rifle Defense. Can you guess why? Well the same reason most Jedi picked the belt, it has no condition. So Jedi get nerfed but my non-Jedi toon doesn't and you don't see any problem with this? This nerf only affects Jedi, to me that is just wrong.

Baciacca, is this the word from the Devs? after tiggs said she would file a bug repport on the belt, is this the response they came back with?
If you equipped the belt and then a piece of armor, and then un-equipped the piece of armor, you would have been told "You are still wearing armor", etc.
There was a bug which caused the armor check not to count belt, boots or gloves depending on the order in which they were equipped (or un-equipped). That bug was fixed in pub22, so now the belt always counts as armor, regardless what order you equip it in.

So this is the final word on this? I am sure we all agree that this is just BS. They go through and change the bandos and shirts to be clothing. Why not change this too?
You shouldn't be so sure then, because not all of us agree. Sure, I had a nice AA in my belt for my jedi, but I *chose* to take that risk. Nobody's fault but my own.
Suck it up, kid. There are consequences to your decisions, even the bad ones.

Exactly, everyone knew this was getting by techicalites. Everyone should have realized the risk of "what if they fix this".
Every chose ot take the risk, you had advantage of it for a very long time so be happy at that

No it is to affect anyone not certified to use that armor.
TKA cannot use armor so they are affected also. I bet others with no armor certs are affected.
it is not a NERF. We all knew it was an armor item and jedi are not supposed to wear armor. It is a fix plain and simple.
If you were using one on your jedi you should have known better. We all know were were getting around the system that might eventually get fixed.

even if you changed it to clothing, that negates all the AA's in it and so it doesn't matter. The moral of the story is: Don't exploit bugs in the system, no matter how many people are doing it, there is no guarantee you will be able to rely on it later.
And I don't even want to hear people asking for their AA's to be converted to CA's. That is a load of crap.
What does make me laugh though is the fact they can fix all the things that screw us over, yet all the things that are beneficial to us stay broke.
I mean, how can they justify adding new things to the game, let alone bring out expansions, when there are still many bugs in the game that need fixing. Doesnt make sense to me..
UGH, I despise SOE right now. I seriously want to cancel, I don't want to log in right now. I sent Tiggs a long essay regarding why belts should be converted, but never got a reply.
Then Blivtex slaps us in the face with his "Premium Pearls" comment, then Tiggs slaps us in the face with the "Working as intended" line - then procedes to spend the rest of the day in the Bria loading thread spending SOE's money, and the PLAYER'S right to a community relations lead joking around and giving her paw of approval.
I wish so much for the first Star Wars MMO to be good, I love Star Wars too much - but SOE consitantly makes me angry... Now every player is able to take missions from the blue glowly of Obi-Wan? Rediculous.
I agree with the situation 100%. It was a bug...It's part of an armor set, hence it is ARMOR.
If you want to whine to SOE to fix bugs/exploits, and turn around and whine about this....well, you are an idiot.
