Thread: trapping
I'm a rifleman too, butI can still use traps. This method works well using a laser rifle or T-21. Find a creature and make sure /maskscent or /conceal is turned on. Go to about 40 meters and throw an adhesive mesh and a p-dart. The animal will stop. Run out to 60 meters, go prone and hit it with 4-5mind specials. Assuming it's not dead already, jump up, run to around 40 meters, and hit it again with adhesive mesh and p-dart. Go back out to 60 meters and splash some more mind specials. Repeat until creature is down. Pay close attention to the creature's state. The adhesive mesh will break before the p-dart. If the AM trap breaks, the creature will start coming for you, but very slowly. Before he gets to you, you'll have anough time to throw another AM trap.
Alternatively, you can use a good, sliced spraystick with a max damage/mind cost powerup. The ideal range is 30 m, and the speed is around 2.5 seconds. It won't do as much damage per shot as a T-21 or laser rifle, bit it's speedy and you can hit well from closer in.
Go to Lok and find a party that will hunt Gurks or Kimogilas.
You will be able to master the trapping skill tree very fast.
There is a small village being terrorised by Kimogilas not very far away from the starport area.
If you are on Bloodfin you can find crates of traps in the Bazaar. There are always a few crates for sale there.
Hey thanks everyone for the help. I just got Trapping IV. Here's how I did it.
I grouped with a CH friend of mine and we took Fambaa missions out of Moenia. I made 4 different kinds of traps and a lot of them at that. We used his Graul/2 GSPs to tank for us. I usually got within 20 meters and just started laying into the kritters. I was getting 505 trapping pts per trap that stuck! I would usually get 6-10 traps to stick before the fambaa went down. This was the most effective way that I found.
Thanks again for all your help.
