Thread: Can we get any possible How to become Force Sensitive guides, ideas here?
I can see how race can play into the storyline, however I don't think it will affect unlocking the FS slot. I mean, just because you get plans to the death star doesn't mean that you are going to be a Jedi. I think it is pretty cool though. =) But like many other online games, items like that are handed out almost normally and they really aren't worth too much. Then again, it really might be worth a bit!
My big question is. If you make a jedi master then die for the last time and come back as a blue glowie ghost. What can you do? Can you still affect physical things? Can you still use force powers?
Check out these statements from the Official Jedi FAQ...
How do Jedi work?
Your main character does not become a Jedi. Rather, the actions of your main character can unlock an additional character slot which is Force Sensitive. Characters created in this additional slot can then advance through the Jedi skills as well as any of the other skills in the game. Each player account allows for only one potential Jedi slot and the mysterious method to unlock it won't be the same for every player.
Will only the extremely lucky or hardcore players get to play Jedi?
Jedi status is not determined based on "luck." However, Jedi is considered an advanced objective to achieve within the game. Casual and hardcore players alike can reach this objective because the path is different for each player. However, it might take a casual player considerably longer to unlock a Force Sensitive character slot.
Is it possible for other species besides humans to become Jedi?
Yes. Any player, regardless of character species, has the potential to become a Jedi.
So, it isn't random or based upon luck. It is based upon a series of actions. Which leads me to believe that it is quest based. But the mystery is that you won't realize that you are on a quest while you are completing it. So, you never will know how close you are until you finish it. Interesting....=)
In beta I also received the broken holocron pieces by delivering a dark jedi neclace. Unfortunately, an inventory bug wiped it out. I will say this, I got this mission by talking to a "criminal" behind a canteena in Bestine on tatooine. My gut instinct upon reading the message that said the pieces look familiar was that it was the start of the Jedi quest.
That character, even with no bug, is long gone. Oh well...

I just have a hard time believing that it would be that simple of a start to a path to unlocking the FS slot. I would think that it would have to do with some type of hidden agenda. Like they have mentioned with Jedi faction points. But, then again, all along I have speculated that it would have something to do with a quest type system. The devs told us though that we wouldn't really know how to unlock it and that it would be totally different for each species/profession. So, the way to test that would be for you to get two different players together and go to the guy that is handing out the crystals, then see if both of you can get them. If you both do, I would suggest that that is just another normal quest with an item that will eventually become a standard in game item. That is just what I think though.
I was running through Daeric one day though and heard a medic say something like...
"Since the Jedi have returned that means the Empire won't be far behind."
But I ran around all over the place trying to find the person that said it, but to no avail. So...that was sort of interesting to me.

what if its something as simple as visiting ALL the planets for a certain amount of time on each
or visitng every city in the galaxy.... who the heck would try that? not many
One thing we know for certain...
It going to require many many months and constant playing so the Sony and Lucas can MAKE MONEY!
That is the one and the only thing they care about. remember that in your theories.
They are purely about business and $$, not about a SW culture. Remember folks. Business.
Half of Sony has prob never even seen or know anything about SW.
Hah!
Pretty funny that you are contributing to their money mongering thievery! I would think that if you really felt that way about them you would be boycotting this game, not checking on this thread to find out if you can unlock the FS slot. =0
Anyways, let's keep the ideas rolling. I don't have anything better to do here at work while I can't play!

Look, I understand that not all of you are total geeks, who have been watching this thing be birthed for 3-4 years, but;
RTFFAQ!!!!
or in short read the FAQ people.
The FS slot isnt supposed to be the hard part, just time consuming, and your not supposed to "know" how to repeat it. The HARD part is not getting killed, as you will have to start all over.
Even if you get an FS slot. Who is going to take you on as a Padawan? FS slots do not have any special skills. So unless you can;
A) unlock the slot
B) Live long enough without powers to find a Jedi to train you
C) Complete your training and become a Jedi
D) Treadmill your happy butt to Jedi Master
E) Be 1 of a 20 people per server to do it
Jedi will not be prominent. They will not be everywhere. They will die fast unless they can make the path quickly, and quietly.
But IF they do.... Gonna need 20-30 people to take em on.
Eric, I agree with most of your points. I think though that the FS slot will be difficult to unlock, maybe not in the physical sense of the game, but in the way in which it is done. There is a lot of work to be done just to get the FS slot available.
Obviously though you are right, becoming a Jedi is near impossible that is why there won't be many. So, I think that unlocking the slot will be the most exciting, but becoming a Jedi the most frustrating.
Still, I am very much drawn towards the process of becoming a Jedi. So much that I don't really want to train or get credits, just want to figure it out!

If you get the jedi slot, and make it all the way to Jedi Master, then if you get killed, that character gets to live on as a "blue glowie" as they put in in the post... think of obi-wan or yoda after death...
Can't do much with it but talk, but hey, people will know you at least were a jedi master!
