You guys just don't know how happy I am to see this is not my computer only *whew!* I spent 4 hours tweaking settings, thinking myself crazy. Here is to hoping this thread stays afloat and someone sees it. Would this be considered a bug for a bug report? Maybe we could post under the recent Publish issues thread

It's quite obvious when you drive back from the Village to Science Outpost and fly of that huge cliff, giving you a view of the outpost and the terrain around it.

Yup... I noticed this recently, too. Don't know exactly how to word it whether it's the tiling or what but the graphics for the terrain is ugly even with options turned all the way up.

I've been keeping my graphics turned down all week because my FPS were ridiculously low, so I can't say as I noticed the tiling effect for sure, but I can certainly say I'm seeing NO performance increase. And I am not on an oversized etch-a-sketch either.

Just noticed also on Dath, that not just the textures, but mountians tops and things have sharp edges and sqaure boxy look on plateaus. Looks like terrain resolution got reduced across the board. This is not cool, and don't blame it on a bug, this can't happen without design as it is controlled client side.

What will happen of course is that it will take 6 months to "fix" and when they do everybody will be THANKING the DEV's for such a wonderful improvement (i.e. spawns, NPC specials, etc.)

I noticed it too. I tend to take my cam 3rd person when AFK. looks as if someone mowed my graphics, long rows of repedtitive tiles. Sadly enough I just spent well over 200.00 on a new video card just prior to P13 to improve my graphics.. Think SOE will give a refund *blink blink*

This is funny. I just came back to this game after leaving in June before all the Jedi publishes. Created a new character, and this was the first thing I noticed. I was like I do not remember the landscape looking like this before I left..... and then a group of six Jedi ran past me with their lightsabers drawn and I said oh. In this game it seems that the more things change the less I can remember how much fun this game was in the first 3 or four months when it went live.

It is really strange to me - I'm on a better computer than I was when the game started, but it seems like the graphics were more articulated back then. Maybe they are solving the problem of the coding being bad by making the graphics less taxing because it would be too huge of a job to entirely recreate the game to be more efficient and have better performance?

Personnally this is good for me, just have it on a toggle system ( I PvP so I need the best performance at all times)

I noticed this, and no increase in performance - and this is from a mediocre PC on low settings. So its not doing anything for low-end PCs either!

These are the kind of changes that would be nice to know about before it goes live. i agree it should be an option. i used to have an fps of 30 no matter what back at the beginning. now i cant go into any city without slideshow mode kicking in. i ran on 516mb RAM then, and 516mb RAM now. something was lost between launch and the present. (true that may be my computer... the motherboard burned out but im on that computers identical twin now)

i miss those days. and the old textures.
