Thread: Tuesday Tips September 30th
Also, a request, can someone post the keyboard command to hide all the ui elements for taking a screenshot? I did something by accident th other day and hid them and had to relog to fix it.
CTRL+SHFT+H
Gymbrall,
Ctrl+Shift+H will clear you screen so you can take a pretty picture. It's a toggle, so do it again and all your windows come back.

The NPCs are full of sightseeing missions. There's a Commoner at the trading outpost on Yavin who tells you where the Woolamander and Blueleaf Cluster temples can be found. In Mos Eisley there's an NPC near the cantina, who tells you where to find the Tusken Fortress. There's another near the Lucky Despot who tells you where to find Jabba's Compound (not Palace, Compound). In the cantina at Kaadara, there's an NPC who tells you were to find the pirate bunker.
The NPCs you want are the ones without titles. When I arrive in a city for the first time, I always seek these out. Many also offer interesting rewards. There's one near Wato's Junk Shop who gives you a droid brain repaired by Anakin Skywalker, and also gives you a replican helmet of the one worn by Ani in the pod race. On Mos Taike is an NPC who gives you a number of food items. Etc.
(Copied from last week)
If you need to Converse with an aggro NPC (the second Dark Jedi quest on Dantooine for example), then you need to use the /conversationStart command. Just target the NPC you need to converse with and type "/conversationStart" (without the quotes) or /conv for short, and it will converse with the NPC no matter how far away you are, as long as you have him/her/it targeted.
Wana know a way to hit the "Tab" key in a macro? Heres how:
/ui action cycleTargetOutward;
if that dosnt work un capitalize the "T" in Target. Very usefull.

Resize the stat migration window to its maximum width to make single-digit changes.
I used to do this, but one day I saw my fried clicking the little arrows at each end of the slider for single digit changes. I felt silly, but now I'll pass it on so others can do single digit changes easily!
Also under options and Misc. If you click only Show All Names uner that section and then uncheck everything under it (about sowing the names separately) it will show all the names still, but when you press CTRL-N they will all shut off. Great for screenshots or just to see more clearly.
Also CTRL-SHIFT-H to hide the heads up display (HUD).
while armor is fundamentaly flawd its not totally useless
except for armor like bone that it only effective agains blasrers and is a liability else where most other armor is usefull at least for its core protection...
first all armor that is effective against a particular attack,l at the very least is worth 1 level of protection
both mimbari and full power composite will drop a basic CDEF shot by 50% because CDEF has an armor piersing of none
and even verses a nasty rifle sporting a MEDIUM armor penetrate both are equilly will resist the incoming damage to only a 25% bonus instead or 2 25% bonuses
besides high end armor usually has too high a HAM cost for a average player to wear even if you can bairly wear it you wont for long either you will drop your ham bar too low to continure battle or you will remove the armor to regenerate and wont beable to put it back on. (leave armor on in battles)
where they mess up is the specials if they had light medium and heavy body armor at the core THEN do the specials you have some effective armor
now against some attacks armor is worthless like poison or disease and agsainst standard combat weapons which do 7000-1000 damage your just toast (you should be an NPC they have huge hams) and armor wont help you with special moves like eyeshot or knockdown even when prone you will still be made helpless and die
place your armor on hot keys for quick change a full set can be swaped out in less than 2 seconds
In my experience only a handful of NPC missions work. Basically don't try Naboo as a lot are broken there.
Can't believe this is a Tuesday tip given the amount posted on who buggy they are. The herald NPC's don't give rewards, Visit to tuskan fort, visit force sensitive cave on Dantooine etc, so why recommend doing these as thye just cause frustration.
The amount of times I have seen 'notit' or 'not55yet' from NPC is quite significant, so why draw players attention to this feature of the game.
Sorry to be negative, but I am keen for this type of content to be fixed. The Rebel Theme Park was BROKEN and was never posted by the devs to watch out. Jabba's palace was BROKEN on launch as gifts were not given out and it was explained that they were not supposed to be.... then suddenly the gifts appear after an update, this is wrong.
So be careful with the tips. Basically if you're unsure whether to do a mission, look it up on the website to make sure it isn't bugged as you may not receive a reward that you should, and once completed it has been said that CSR's are UNABLE to grant these reward retrospectively.
As for NPC missions, are badges fixed for doing theme parks Q3P0? Is there any point completing these if the badges are not going to be issued, and con not be issued retrospectively?
Be interested to hear any answers to the above seeming NPC's missions are on topic today?
My Tuesday Tip : Use /conver when doing delivery missions from terminals. If you zoom right out by increasing the field of view on your monitor you can save a tremendous amount of tendious leg work, especailly in small towns.
Here is one I learned by accident. Maybe it's a bug. Dunno.
Let's say you pull two missions. Obviously you can't get another one. If you abort one, you can.
But suppose your mission is simply to go to a waypoint where something will happen. You decide you don't want to do that, so you delete the waypoint. You still have that mission! This means that other NPCs who have "go to this waypoint" assignments won't give them to you. You have to find an NPC who says "I see you are working for someone else. Do you want to work for me?" If you say yes, it will say "You are released from your prior obligation."

I just took to a quest last night outside Mos Eisley. The waypoint led me to Jabba's Hideout. I think its still bugged.
That's not really a "quest" but one of those NPC's that Q mentioned.
