Thanks for writing this out, Fred. I've never had the time to work up a report like that. I'm going to transfer it to my in-game notepad and e-mail it to every new person I hunt with. LOL.

Oh, and to clarify cuz I never realized this, whenever a lair says something speciffic like "a mutant baz nitch lair" or whatever, that means that it is someone's mission? That's something EVERYBODY should know, but maybe unaware of.

Yes. If no one in the group has that mission, it might be thought inconsiderate to farm it, as someone might have wanted the harvest your party took Think of is as MMO-etiquette. Sometimes it can't be helped, however

/agree. Great guide btw.

Very good post - I do lairs since the game went live, but I still learned something...

As a sidenote:

Wave amounts 2: Voritor Dashers on Dantooine (did a lot of them recently)

Edit: Are you sure that the lair has to be down to half its hitpoints before the next wave spawns? I am under the impression that it spawns when the lair is down to 2/3 of its hitpoints? Those Voritor-lairs usually have about 43,000 points and I stop shooting when it is at 28,000 or so - wait a moment and then I notice a significant drop in hitpoints when the next wave spawns...

i told him that there were two ways for him to get better. 1) learn tactics and strategy 2) quit bounty hunter

I cant believe I had to lecture a US Army Sergeant on tactics and combat heheh

LOL! That is amazingly ironic. btw, I doubt he would get better quiting BH.

good stuff fred, all this time I was wondering if it I was 'doing it right' and glad to see that I have been lol, although I never get a second wave to spawn with just one tap on the lair, usually 2-3 taps.

I have to say that my pets ar my life in this game. I ask people to use stims on them after battle and most the time it "Thats a waste! i get no xp" my responce is "Ok, go ahead and attack the lair without my pet there to tank for you and see how much xp you get." ..so i have tons of respect while i play on other servers for the CH there and stim the pet before myself because that pet is going to be taking 70% or more of the damage .

(unless your melee and spamming specails, if melee best idea is to not use specails every 2 seconds but use them every so often as to not gain agro)

A ton of the holo grinders have no idea how to play the class and are only worried about when they can master it and move on.. thank goodness its dying down that holo thing was a game killer if ya ask me.

The point is those that are out there and spamming specails and just opening up a can of "dumbarse" on the lair should be left on the battle field as a mark of stupidity.

Tap a lair=survive longer= your team does not visit clonning center.

Something i do in groups is take turns on the lair for the most xp per person OR have the person that has the mission have rights to the lair tap. Its a good thing and fair.

Been there... Done that..

shoot the lair until JUST BEFORE you have damaged it to half of the lairs hitpoints.

After countless calculations I'm fairly certain that the 3rd mission spawn occurs when the lair's health goes bellow 2/3 of its max health.

I've never had to shoot or 'tap' a lair with more then 1 shot to get the second wave to spawn.

Btw, I normally tell everyone beforehand to wait for my pet to get healed. So I normally just watch them get killed, heal my pet and do the killing over their dead bodies, as I dont have a choice.

You can do what I have done... if you are using pet Stims to heal your pet then have extras to hand out to party members. That way they all can heal. Nothing like healing 4-5 k in 30 seconds or so. Plus then their mind is drained a bit so they are willing to wait for a recharge.

2/3 can't be it ether. I have seen too much variation here. Right now I'm hunting Reptilian Fliers on Dath and trust me, it's far below 2/3. the lair name is "a mature reptilian flyer lair". The name streatches allmost completely across the bar. They refuse to spawn until that bar touches the "t". I have peace-tap-peaced over and over again.

My theory is that it is half + one hp value of the critter drawn from the lair. It depends on the critter CL and the lairs HP. I have seen starter planets go as far as 3/4 for this and as I said with the Flyers some will be more like 5/8ths. This is my reasoning for stating "before half". I didn't think to explain this out more clearly, however.

I like to tap Merek lairs on Endor to get babies to spawn for taming (seems to be the only way to get a baby merek of any sort). You have to be very careful when you get down to 1/8th life left in the lair it will spawn a group of 4 mereks, often with a queen, battlelord, and/or king or 2 to go w/ a couple avengers. If you have a swoop bike handy, and you can mount it fast enough, you might survive to come back. Of course, you uber types may not need to run, but I do.
