I have NO firewall, so thats not it
I have just a few days ago got new drivers, ran all the virus and spyware scans possible under safe mode and removed everything
And I tried the uninstall
EDIT: Also , my comp always ran SWG, so your saying its not SOE's fault that they might have made higher requierments without telling? and so its my problem?

Just a long shot (and a guess), ignore if it does not apply. Windows XP SP2 has a built in firewall in it, is it possible that has auto-updated onto your PC?
The reason I say is with zonealarm installed you will get the exact situation ie stopped after the two logo screens with a black one until you hit ctrl-alt-del to see that zonealarm is warning you behind the main applications black screen.
Anyways hope you find a fix.

And for the moron who said Pub ten had nothing to do with jedi , first off it is called "Jedi Trials" , it is the new way to make half to game stop doing whatever they do and go try for even more jedi

This was the final blow for me!
After the much hated for me Publish ten( Damn jedi getting too much attention for being 1/100th of game) I found out I couldnt log in , well I kept trying for a few days, then my computer now locks up completely before the log in screen , I HAVe to pull the freakin power cord to fix it
Cant file a bug report, game locks up
To make it worse before hand, I was getting no respones form CSRs on my bugged vendors
Devs have just stopped careing
I will cancel my account since it is just lineing their pockets with my cash for nothing I can do
If a dev reads this , maybe they will give a damn and try to help me

Naturally, it's the Jedi's fault that your game crashes now. Are you having problems, even insignificant ones, running other software? Remember, SWG is pretty much benchmark software, meaning it's going to be maxing out all your system specs. A problem with your hardware or OS that causes a significant problem running SWG may only cause minor glitches in other programs that use fewer system resources.
512 MB RAM and a 1.8 ghz processor are not terribly fast in relationship to the types of machines others run this game on, but I'm running it on a 512 system with a 2.0 processor and the same vid card, and I've had no problems since p10 (and actually the game runs much more smoothly, or seems to, on the new hardware they're testing on TC2).
First thing that sets off warning bells for me is that you're not running a firewall. Earlier this summer I had a rather widespread womn infesting my machine that NOTHING could detect. Neither Norton/Symantec, McAffe, AVG, nor any Spyware/Adware programs would detect anything wrong, even with the latest updates.
SWG was the program the trouble was most noticable in, because it uses up sucha large chunk of my resources. But the performance of IE and other programs suffered to a lesser extent as well. AFTER you run a fullscan of your launchpad to make sure none of your patch downloads were corrupted somehow, I recommend you pull up a list of your running processes (alt-ctl-del on WinXP will do this, not sure about Win2k) and do a Google search on everything running in that list that you can't positively identify yourself. That's how I found my worm and was able to manually remove it through the registry/ exe deletion. I also had to repair/download replacements for MANY innocent exes and other applications that were damaged by the worm and were the actual cause of my system slowdown, for example the application that turns my speaker volume up and down had been jacked by the worm to use 99% of my processor's capacity.
Blaming SOE and the Jedi players because your machine suddenly won't boot the software is immature and ridiculous. If all else fails, back up what you can on floppies or CDs or upload to a free web server, wipe your HD, and reinstall everything, including the OS. Sometimes that's the only way to make complete sure you've gotten rid of a bug, if that's in fact what you've picked up.

Why the hell is this in the Game Guides section?
if it's the latter, then other people with the same hardware would be experiencing the same problem is you. anyone?
if not, it's just your computer. don't give me the "well it was working fine!" crap because i hear that 20 times a day. that means jack in the world of computers.
equipment goes bad, drivers corrupt, etc, etc. you did the right thing by trying to uninstall SWG but the only thing you can do now is resort to the crash logs, send them to Sony and see what happens. or just quit.
