Q, this isn't a very good tip. I went to examine this very issue, and the copy/paste commands work for the chat windows only (and I cannot copy/paste in e-mail messages). *Very* annoying. Especially given that I thought this basic feature would work and found it was not up to par.

Here's how to make up for this lack. You can use CTRL UP Arrow to cycle through the last items you've typed in chat. For e-mail, add yourself to the 'To' list and then forward the e-mail message on.

Turns out you just cant from the EMAIL message. But you can do a reply or Forward and copy from there.

As for the admin, it doesnt work. You can put all of Guild:XXX on entry or ban, but for some reason it wont work on admin. If someone does have it working send me a PM

Does anyone know how to add an entire guild to the admin list of a structure?

I know I've seen this once before on these boards but I haven't been able to find it again.

guild:GUILD initials (ex: Guild initials of IN gets admin add of "guild:in").
Does this work for mail as well?

No. Not yet anyway, but you can use the friends list. Which i guess ill explain in a tip

TIP: If you use the new Friends list with GROUPING, you can sort the list by friends then select all like you do in windows ethier click then shift+click (select all between clicks) or use control+click (select each one seperately).

TIP:

If you require CSR attention for a buggy harvester, dissapearing items from bank, items being stuck in walls of a house, etc. :

My tip:

Instead of wasting the CSR's time with a silly issue like an item being stuck in the wall of your house, try using your head and don't move and item into the wall of your house!

But if you do happen to accidentally do it just keep the item targeted and type "/move back 5" and it will move the item 5mback from the directionyour character is facing.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

When joining a chat channel and the name doesn't appear in the chat tab, do the following:

  • Right Click on the nameless tab and choose "Modify Tab." The "Chat Tab Management" window appears.

  • Select the first blank line in the "Tab Channels" fieldand click the left-poining arrow.

  • A new entry appears in "Available Channels" field with the name of your missing chatroom. Double -click it.

  • Your correctly named chat room will appear in the "Tab Channels" window. Click "OK" and voila! You're done. Your chat channel is properly joined and named.

Having trouble with chat windows appearing all over your screen when you first log-on? Use the "X" in the upper-right hand corner to close the entire window, rather than deleting the individual tabs. This will prevent the window from reapperaing when you log in.

The way to get something out of the wall is to use /pickup ITEMNAME.

So if you rotated your large bed right into the wall, tyep "/pickup large bed" and it'll be back in your inventory.

There's a copy/paste? Why didn't you make this the first tip ever? haha This would have been so useful.

Remapping to modal chat also allows you to use the WASD keys for movement... as a right-handed player, I find WASD much more comfortable for the left hand than the arrow keys (right hand is on the mouse, of course).

You can't (to my knowledge) set up your custom macros to act as commands (such as typing /macro) but you can make hotkeys out of them in the keymap. Keymapping is in the options (CTRL-O by default), I believe under "Controls"... may be a different name. Your macros are under the "Custom" tab.

Wonder how people mount things on the wall, or set things on top of tables? You drop them while standing on stairs. Only works in houses with stairs... of course.

Easier way to move objects? Commands...
/moveFurniture [forward/back] [1...50]
/rotateFurniture (not sure of the options, and valid ranges... I think left/right, and 1-180)
/moveFurniture [up/down] doesn't exist yet.

If building permissions are not working properly with the guild:-guildInitials-, try different capitalizations... I think it's case sensitive. For instance, on my home I believe GUILD:AR didn't work, but guild:AR did for access (I am in the Antarian Rangers, tag AR).

Think the new friends list features are awesome? Me too... but don't use them yet. The settings have a tendency to reset to null. Save some frustration.

Want an unusual and interesting method of commanding your pets, rather than saying "a" all the time? Use hand signals. I have macros set up for all of my common pet commands. For instance, attack.... (being non specific... use your imagination for what hand signals you will use).

/emote -does some gesture- and points to %tt.
/tellpet -your pet attack commands-

This also allows you to use pet-names in the attack command, so you can manually /tellpet individual pets to attack, but have a single command which will have them all attack. Also, using %tt (not sure, but it is case sensitive, and may be %TT) will help others around you know exactly what you're attacking (unless you're attacking one of many creatures with the same name).

/maskscent command while mask scent is active deactivates it without the time delay to reactivate it.

Turn mask scent off before entering combat. Combat currently breaks mask scent and engages the time delay to turn it back on. If the combat is short, and you manually disengaged it, you can mask scent again immediately after combat.

If you have something targeted and want to bring up the radial menu without using the mouse just hit the tilde "~" key. This is useful for examining distant or moving targets, as well as moving those objects in the wall you still have targeted.

If you are a CH and using a baby pet to kill weak mobs for xp, colorize the phrase "(baby) hits" in the chat colorization part of the controls. When you see your chosen color in the combat window, you'll know it's okay to kill the mob, as your pet has already hit it once.

when browsing these forums, make sure to open all pages in new windows. that way you can have all of them "processing your request" at the same time, and eventually can read them. This way you don't have to wait for the list of threads to refresh all the time.

Or better yet, get a browser that uses tabs.

  • Firebird
  • Mozilla
  • Opera
  • Netscape
  • Or for those of you who want to keep InternetExplorer get CrazyBrowser. It keeps all your IE settings, and actually runs over the top of IE, so you could run IE at the same time if you like.

While we have been promised better functionality on our factories, you can currently access the output hopper of a running factory by opening the radial and selecting just options.
