Are there some sort of + mods to slicing?
I am a Master Armorsmith, and am going up Smuggler-slicing, so I can slice my Armor before I sell it. If I get Armor Slicing at level 3, is there any reason for me to go on to level 4 or Master? Do they get better slices in any way? I have seen no Slicing+25 type mods on the certs, so I was just wondering if getting slicing IV/Master were needed for my situation?

yes..master gets some bonus in slicing..not to mention slicing IV....you need to be at least slicer to get some decent slices on your armor.

The only other bonus you'll get to Slicing comes when you level up to Master. You get an undocumented additional 5% on average.

Ok, I am half a brawler block away from becoming a smuggler and I have a question about slicing that some of you veteran smugglers may be able to answer for me. I approached a smuggler the other day and asked him to slice some armor for me (he was a slicer but nota master smuggler). He had really horrible results and I asked him if being a master smuggler made a difference. Figured he'd know since he was a smuggler. He stated "yes it absolutely makes a difference". Well now I find myself about to become a smuggler and looking through the skill trees I dont see any bonus listed for slicing (or for anything for that matter) in the master smuggler block.
The short of it is this. Is there any improvement to slicing from slicing4 to master smuggler?

Yes there is but it's not listed. Us Smugglers have been asking for something in the Master Box for a while.

The percentages are listed in the smuggler FAQ.
Basically Master get 5% more than slice 4

Well, yes and no. I want very much to have the option to play a jedi. I do not however really want to play a jedi. I just want the option. So I started the grind with two goals. the first is to open the option to eb a jedi the second is to find my niche. I was a Master CH my first profession (pre-holo). 18 profs later I am still MCH. the only 3 profs I can not be while a MCH is CM, BH and CM. I refuse to drop ch cause i enjoy it so much I am just looking for a second prof that I enjoy. This sounds like one of the most starwarsy and will likely be my other permanent. Time will tell

OK I know I asked this before but I am a little confused. OK may people have said that when slicing Armor and Weapons the quality of the knives and the claps make no differance. If this is the caus ethen why do people still charge more for a higher experiment % on knives and claps they sell? Does a 90% experiment knife really make a better slice that does a 25% experiment knife?

Tool quality on any and all tools has absolutely zero effect on the slice. Knives, Clamps and even the WUK's and AUK's, it has no effect no matter how high or low quality they are.
People will charge more for higher quality tools for a couple reasons. Maybe they don't know tool quality doesn't matter, so they assume it does. They use better materials and so have to charge more to compensate. Or perhaps they hope people, who don't know that tool quality doesn't matter, will buy them instead of the cheaper tools of lesser quality.
