Guide on how to run 2 SWG accounts on one computer.

1. Open up notepad

2. Paste the following

[SwgClient]

allowMultipleInstances=true

3. Save this file as user.cfg in your SWG folder in your program files

- when I saved the file under the windows, for "save as type" I changed that from Text Documents (*.txt) to "all files" and this worked great for me. Thank you.

I have no problems with lag or anything. P4 2.26gig, 786 Rambus, Geforce 4 256MB.

This thing wont work for me at all. I have tried multiple ways of writing and spacing the text. I am 100% sure its cfg file not txt file. and I have tried multiple times to start the second up while the first is loading... no chance.... I get the applicatio is allready running and will now be closed (something like that ) error... I simply hate running back and forth between my comp and my other comp ( not in the same room)

I've been running two accounts flawlessly using this method.

1.2 AMD, GeForce4 MMX (64mb) video, 512 mb memory

My one problem is if I go to Coronet City starport (or any other similarly heavily trafficed area), then it slows WAY down. Otherwise, great way to keep my Doctor character to pass out buffs and use my main to hunt, gather resources, etc.

I tried all of the above suggestions and it is correctly user.cfg in \programfiles\starwarsgalaxies\

Tried starting up both at once and waiting for one to load but it keeps popping up

"Another instance of this application is already running. Application will now close."

Sad!

Still doesn't work and I have followed this exactly.

Do you need to start the file twice at the same time? I have tried lots of different timing and nothing works.

Just keeps saying another instance is running. :/

Could be a memory issue if it still doesn't work. I know when I use two instances it eats up 80%+ of my 1024.

Works for me but I couldn't launch the 2nd instance of the game until the first game's launchpad was gone (ie I was logged in on the first account already).

Of something to note: My first instance ran fine -- in fact almost normal, I only suffered a 1-2 framerate loss.. However, the 2nd account was only getting 5-10 FPS. I'd suspect this would have something to do with CPU priority..

My system:

Windows XP Pro

1 Gig Ram

Celeron 2.8

GeForce 5200 FX 128 MB

How does one even have two accounts on the same server/galaxy? When I tried to start a second account, it asked for the CD code, but said that code was already taken (my first account). Do I need to buy another SWG-CD just to get the CD code to have a second account?

Buy another game to get CD code and setup new station ID etc.

Tenfo, when you look at the file does it read exactly "allowMultipleInstances=true" with the capitol M and I and try it with no spaces if you have spaces. I know some of my macros will not work if I leave off one capitol letter. I think if it is giving you the message about multiple instances still then it is not reading the file you created. Good luck.
