Q. How come /peace does not work?

A. This is no longer a valid command. You must either A) Uncheck your auto-attack or B) untarget your current target or

C) move out of range of your target.

Great job on the list of tips

Also, to end combat, you should also be able to just hit the ESC key...

Does this mean that you can't end combat via a macro?

I have a macro that switches me from Combat to healing mode so that my attacks won't interfere.

If this is the case why was the /peace command removed? Seems like unnessecary tinkering to me.

Probably removed to limit the functions of "in combat" macros.

Jedi FAQ:

1. I can't kill anything. What do I do?

I'd be interested in getting more information about the way the different special attacks interact. It seems that sometimes I could use an attack while other abilities were still cooling down and othertimes I could not. Over all, the way the warm-up, cool-down, execute system works has turned the game more into a guess and click method rather than knowing how long you'll need to wait before you can act again.

I'm looking for something like, "All of profession Y's abilities, and abilities 1 and 3 from profession Z are part of such-and-such ability branch, so they all are on the same cool-down timer." Concrete information to help the order you will want to execute your attacks.

New Jedi FAQ:

1. I can't kill anything. What do I do? - First, understand your CL rating. You are a new paddy (just like me), the CU is put live and you log in and start killing, only to find that things you can kill are giving you 0 xp. Things that give you XP are killing you. OMG, what do I do. Well first, you have to decide: Are you going to be a Jedi or are you going to be MASTER TKA (or other elite profession). Your CL is dependent upon your skills. Your CL determines what you need to fight to gain xp. You lose 10% of any XP attainable for each level a creatures CL is below yours. So as a MASTER *ELITE* combat profession, you are CL 80. You have to kill something with a CL of 71 or higher to get any xp at all. But as a new jedi, your real CL is about 45 or so. By real, I mean, you equip your saber and your only chance at surving and gaining any xp will be in the CL45-50 range. But your rating is CL80...how do you get to CL45 .... YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP YOUR ELITE PROFESSION!!!! get it...you got to drop it. I know this doesn't make us happy...what do we use to defend ourself when that MBH CL80 shows up to claim his easy reward. So you have to play smart...keep off the terms. I did this on my char. I dropped to Level 48...wasn't too bad but pretty challenging. So i dropped to Level 35...oops that was too much. Even though I was Level 35...suddenly I was getting no xp. I raised my Level back up to 45 (the highest i could get with the points i had accumulated). Lucky me. This gave me really decent xp. Now I'm level 47, this increase came as a result of my gaining a few more boxes of jedi skills. So, knowing this info, I concluded that there must be an innate CL level for a new jedi around 45. So I would just reduce my elite skills until my new CL was around 45-47. Finding creatures is not hard, just get missions from any mission terminal in a player city, unlike pre-CU, these missions will all be within your CL level and offer you potential to gain XP. Just roaming and looking for stuff to kill will not work now. You may find creatures to kill...but their CL is not going to be for your level more then likely.

2. I run out of force power after killing 1 creature and it takes 15 minutes to get it back. Here again, you have to make a choice. Do you get that next LS box or do you go to enhancer and work up to CHANNELING ability. After I got to channel, my "lack of force" problem went away.

3. I take a lot of damage. Learn to use some of the basic skills you pick up with novice blocks to agro only one creature to you at a time. Play smart. And as soon as possible..get some defender skills...especially the tree with innate jedi armor. It really helps reduce your damage.

4. As almost every guide i have seen says....GET ALL THE NOVICE BOXES. Novice heal lets you heal 500 points of damage with a minimal force use.

I'm not very far along in my jedi skills, but these are the things I am doing since CU took effect. And I have gained at about the same rate of xp per hour now as i did pre-CU.

Changed a few things. Added Esc key to exit combat. Added a few notes as to differences between live and TC. Some changes were planned and not sure if they were scrapped or just not implemented.

Maybe TH could give us some help here on this.

1. As of the TC update on April 30, you could not use any old icons anymore.

2. The change for BE still is up in the air, still waiting on an offical answer on this.

3. Visual icon was added to scout /maskscent ability in TC April 30th publish.

4. Levels will cap at around level 80. There are still issues to the case some mobs have not been balanced yet.

5. PSG will only protect you from energy damage.

6. Doctor enhancers are still being reported as not working properly.

7. There is a list of the enhancers and what they do in the BE forum.

8. Recursive macros are basically not gonna work for somethings anymore. You cannot /peace using one anymore.

9. ADK's were fixed for LS's April 30th patch to TC.

Also this is meant to be a beginners guide only. Combat for Jedi is not included as this is a seperate problem. If I were a Jedi, I'd write it myself. If there is a Jedi out there who has figured this out, I'd ask you to write one.

Also again, this was written with intended changes in mind. i.e. what was published to TC and not yet to live, if something changes, I will get it changed as fast as possible. Also this was written to be accurate if everything was working as intended. Some things are still broken and will be fixed.

Section 5. Entertainers in the CU

Q. What can I do, now that I cannot buff?

A. Entertainers can still heal Battle Fatigue. Also entertainers can give an insperation buff. This will increase XP by 5%

as well as improve crafters ability to craft.

Hmm, the inspiration buff icon (under the HAM bar) says a 10% increase (or it did last night when I played)

I had a couple of questions:

1. I get a little Icon that says I have some sort of issue with my weapon (it's near where my Health Bar is). It says it's due to my armor, but I'm a MBH wearing refitted composite armor (btw, when you refit the armor, it goes white and you can't change the color back to normal).

2. Was it intentional to leave out weapon certs locations (i.e. when examining my LLC it tells me that I get this weapon at Novice BH, when I look at my Novice BH skill, it does not list any weapon certs)? Such that, I have no idea what other weapons I'm certed for w/o looking at every available weapon type and seeing what level and/or skill is required to wield it.
