Thread: Combat Upgrade FAQ Version 1.0
Ignore us like this ..
Well all my accounts have been cancelled and so has
my expansion preorders .
Cya in Eve ..
Q. Will I gain the same XP as everyone else in the group?
A. No. XP is granted based on your base level. You will still get the same XP based on con.
Example: If a white con gives you 400XP solo a white con grouped will give you 400XP.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You posted this, but it is slightly wrong. Solo, 400xp, but there is still a bonus to group experience. as before, I haven't figured out the % for CU, but there was a bonus.

How does the /con system work?
A. The /con system has a new color system and level number for easier reconition. The system is as follows:
Grey - Not worth the trouble, minimal XP awarded.
Green - Easy fight, small amount of XP awarded (Might cause a problem if more than 2).
Blue - This is the ideal target. Fairly decent XP. Could be trouble if you take more than 1 at a time.
White - This would be the 1 on 1 ideal fight. I would not recommend more than 1 at a time.
Yellow - Stronger than you. You can win but not more than 1 on 1. More than 1 WILL kill you.
Red - If danger is your game, this is your color. Good Luck! Will probably see you at the cloner.
Purple - Steer Clear of this color. I will see you at the cloner 99 out of 100 times.
This one you copy/pasted. Grey and Green gives you Zero XP, not "minimal" or "small amount".
Is there a specific spot where I can find range information? I find that with a lightsaber equipped everything is just showing out of range until i'm within melee, do I just guess when i can ls throw??
I think that this FAQ, besides being helpful, points to some serious problems in the upgrade.
A. No. Auto defend has been taken out of the game. You will now be required to defend yourself.
Comment: It is often hard to know what has attacked you (especially from behind, or in dense surroundings), and even harder to target it. There should at least be a "target attacker" feature. Delay in defending yourself can be deadly, even if it is gray.
Tip: You can still double click on a target to iniate attack as long as default (it is #1 on radial).
Comment: But all too often the default is converse! That got me incaped today.
Q. How will I get to my harvesters?
A. You will either need to get a PSG or hire a merc to protect you.
Comment: What was hard before, is harder now. I haven't seen a PSG yet with kinetic, and most of the fauna can oneshot a pure crafter on a bike.
Also, without autoattack, even with some combat skills, operating a harvester or factory will be deadly. That newly spawned mutant womp rat will get many hits on you before you can even start to defend yourself.
Very good guide, a word on buff enhancers though, they do not currently enchance anything other than the duration of a buff, you will always buff 10% health for example. That probably should be included otherwise people may rush out to buy enhancers expecting bonuses they won't get.
Gift.

How do I attack something while attempting to toggle thru the enemies near me?
/Attack still works, although you should be able to use anyspecial that you have to attack a targeted MOB. In master marksman and brawler you get very basic attacks to use, and these typically work best for your default attacks (ctrl-click on a special as mentioned to make it auto-attack), however, any special should do to attack the mob you have targeted.
and MacBoy, this thread is for those that are trying to discover and enjoy the new system. Troll and flame elsewhere. If you're truly dissatisfied, then cancel and leave, but don't take it out on those of us that are really enjoying the change
I can't toggle thru the enemies while I'm attacking. If I take my target onto something else during battle it now means I'm attacking that target. I used to attack one thing and when it was almost done I would select my next target. Then the first target would die and I would be able to continue on attacking what is next to me.
"Tip: Not having an auto-attack will keep you from continually attacking a lair. You can double click on the lair to attack it."
This is bad. You are forced to either have an auto attack or die every time you try to do missions. Why not just put peace back in for those who want to have an auto attack. Not like it will hurt anything.

Q. How come /peace does not work?
A. This is no longer a valid command. You must either A) Uncheck your auto-attack or B) untarget your current target or
C) move out of range of your target.
Great job on the list of tips
Also, to end combat, you should also be able to just hit the ESC key...
WHERE ARE YOUR "TIPS"??
There is NO HELP FILE available for any of the new features, movements or content for this Upgrade. There is only one poorly worded and poorly formatted paragraph under CTL-H that doesn't answer ANY of the following below. How do you expect NEW PLAYERS that you are anxious to attract to play this game? Im a 2 year veteran and I need guidance.
This thread is the *only* listing of some of the key new features I could find. It's incredible players have to rely on player-written information for how to play the game -- they don't run the service. Why not focus on the CUSTOMER SUPPORT MATERIALS? And less promotion. All new games require introductions, tutorial and support information. Where is the visual documentation to explain the following:
1. Where is there an explanation of how the new CU icons work?
2. What does a yellow bracket around an icon mean?
3. What does the white highlight that move clockwise around the icon mean? Is that the wind-up, cool-own, execution phase?
How do you determine the following in the Combat Upgrade:
1. When an action is in wind-up?
2. When an action is being executed?
3. When an action is cooling-down?
4. Which actions share the sae cool-down period?
5. How do you auto attack?
6. How do you know which action is for auto-attack? Does it have to be a special?
7. Is there not a generic auto attack with your weapon like in EQ2?
8. How do I know CL when SOLO and weapon equipped? (doesn't seem to be working for me with a mixed template)
9. Is there any trick to a selecting attacks between the phases of actions? e.g. special, generic, special, etc.
10. Where is the list and description of what each new BE enhancers does that is used by Doctors for buffing? Where is the description of what each of the new craftable medical items does?
