Thread: Tuesday Tips September 27th Tracking a Bounty across water
You guys are not hunted downrepeatilywhile being patient. I cant really play outside Kashyyyk or in Space while waiting. It's said tracking works on Mustafar. Makes it kinda pointless for me to purchase that expansion since I wont be able to play it.

If you think your profession is broken, what can you do about it? Well you could possibly show up on the forums, troll around and generally make yourself look stupid, or you can follow this simple and very effective tip from the Ranger and Squad Leader community.
Be patient.
Thank you for your time.

Tracking a Bounty across waterToday's tip is for all of you Bounty Hunter's out there and it comes from Katalisha.
When tracking NPC Bounties, sometimes the waypoint spawns in the water
HERE IS HOW TO AVOID MARKS SPAWNING IN WATER:
- When you arrive at the planet where your mark is hiding out, look at your planetary map (CTRL-V).
- If the mark's waypoint is over water - go make a cup of coffee (after you send out your seeker droid).
- Come back after you've made your coffee to find the waypoint has moved several hundred meters
- Go kill your mark.
- Loot your mark.
- Drink the coffee.

Nice tip, however.. this doesnt work to well many times. The problem is a mark WONT move a lot of the time. I've sat there through 2 or 3 sets of seeker tracking modes. (20+ minutes at least) and the mark often doesnt budge. Other times (if this happens on dry land) you can wait for many track updates and he never moves until you get within about 250m, then he jumps across the planet.

Here's a tip...
Player cities don't get any revenue from tickets for their shuttle bought from a starport (via round trip). So always buy your tickets from the city's local shuttle terminal to support the player city.
Thanks for the tip. I was always curious if they did.
Another city tip. With the maintanence disabled for the moment cities are not collecting property tax, however the city still looses money each week for its maintanence cycle.
My income tax just got taken out last night, so that is still working. But about the ticket buying: There was a tip a few weeks ago about always buying round trip tickets from your city, so that it would get the money from both tickets instead of one. However, if you do that, the message still gives the money from the second ticket to the planetary travel authority and not your city. When I buy a ticket at the shuttleport of my city, it costs 210 credits, and says 110 credits have gone the the PTA and 100 credits to the city. If I buy a round trip ticket for 420 credits, it says that 320 credits have gone to the PTA and 100 credits have gone to my city? Is this the way it is supposed to work?

This is not such a good tip... On the overhead map it is often impossible to tell what is water and what is land. Try driving into the central swamplands of Rori, and see if you can tell.
BUT I think i can help.
You can get a much better idea if you use your radar (make sure you have Terrain on Radar enabled): zoom out to max range, and you can come within 1000m of your target, and see if the waypoint seems to be on land or at sea...
Another little tip: your mark seems to be able to spawn in shallow water - e.g. water's edge, or streams...
I haven't lost a single target to water since I started using this teqnique, but targets spawning inside buildings on the other hand...
It would be great if all those condemned ghost towns and harvesters got purged

for the marks that are stuck in a house all u need is a combat probot and to pull them ou t its worked for me .
oh yeah if the mark is still in the water or just to far away and u dont feel like traveling far just sit tight and send more seeker droids let the droids loose the signal and repeat then the mark will dance around the map, hopefully getting closer to you

th, have you try this? it DON'Twork. on naboo and yavin, the mark starts on water, and updates its waypoint on more water. you have to get close to the mark before the waypoint will update, even if you launch a new seeker.
a better way is to just cancal the mission and get a new one. no need to sit and wait for an update that may bring the mark out of water.
