Thread: The Complete Guide To Death Watch Bunker By Wengel *MOVIES ADDED!*
You should take a look at this thread by Nizzle about going over to other servers. Other than that
we have gone over to other servers to help, a teammate of mine made a toon on naritus not too long ago.
He had to start from scratch but now he crafts mando and jetpacks on a regular basis.
I should also add that my team havnt gone down there on a regular basis since the CU, its been more like "wanna do a jetpack? cool, ill get a group". Theres no need to go every day, we go when we feel like having a good time.
If the people on your server cant try out the hardest dungeon in the game just to have a blast (which is what it all comes down to in the end) they shouldnt go at all.
With a higher drop rate on liquids the joy of looting one will be removed, even if it wont be noticed by the large crowd some people will notice, and in the end it will be just like looting another fuel disp unit.

This is as close it will ever get to how it was pre-cu, but youve been doing it for 3 months which means you started post-cu, so what would you know about that?

First of all, comparisons betweeen pre-CU and post-CU are somewhat pointless to the extent that we're discussing about the current situation and how it needs to be improved. The current drop rates for Mando components are insanely low; especially realizing that it may take between 8 to 16 players for successful DWB runs, and only ONE of them gets the actual benefit of a piece of Mando armor. I can't imagine how long it would take to loot 10 PLCs and 10 binary liquids; I would certainly have the persistance and determination if it was just up to me, but no, it requires a full group or two, and then how can I feel OK with that if I get the benefit and they don't get much out of it except rebreathers and useless datapads? The thread by Nizzle is absolutely pointless; I do not need anybody to show me how to do the DWB because I know everything you need to know to lead a successful DWB run. How can you possibly say that a higher drop rate would be removing the joy of looting? It is the other way around; knowing that there is a tangible reward within reach is what makes it more fun. And please stop being condescending and passing judgement on other players whom you know nothing about... it is none of your business what other players choose to do with their in-game time, or to judge the choices that they make. I respect that many of the players in my server who have been in successful DWB runs no longer wish to devote their time and energy to it; they probably see it for what it is, a huuuuge time sink that only provides true rewards for the people getting the better loot, the Mando components, while everybody else ends up with rebreathers and useless datapads.
You seem to think that if the set-up works fine for you, even if others are left out, then things are OK. That seems to me to be a very self-centered and selfish position. Alas, it is way too common in the world of MMORPGs, especially for hardcore gamers and powergamers, if they can do it then they will ridicule and look down on everybody else... I hope you like the view up there in your tower where you can conveniently look down on everybody else when it suits you.
"Once the Artisan has dropped all items into the Droid, he needs to move fast. Use the Mandalorian Forge next to the droid (looks like a Bounty Hunter Terminal). After dropping the last item into the droid, the Artisan has 30 seconds to activate the first of two processes from the terminal. It’s quite simple, just activate it and select Continue on the menu that pops up. You now again has 30 seconds to start the second process. Access the terminal once more, and select “Continue” once more. (Note you cannot select “Cancel” in these popups).
After a few seconds, the process should be done, and you got yourself a deed for a brand new Jetpack in your inventory."
does that mean .. if the artisian drops the items .. but fails to activate. . does that mean that the items are lost?

You may want to read the updated version of this guide here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=298467
The way this works is: you drop the 6 items. Then you have to wait 30 seconds in order for the terminal to give you an option to continue. Then you wait 30 seconds again to select the option to complete. I don't know if there's a time limit after the 30 seconds is up before you no longer HAVE an option to "Continue" or to "Complete"... I doubt anyone would be willing to test to see if their time runs out... but to answer your question directly, if the Artisan does not select "Continue" or "Complete", the components are lost permanantly. Therefore, it is essential that the Artisan be kept alive during this time... if he/she dies (and maybe even if incapped) at any point after dropping the first item and before completing the jetpack, the components he/she has dropped are lost.

Yes I know the tactics to get thru the DWB successfully... and I have said again and again that it's not about *me*. Perhaps you keep thinking that I'm just speaking out of personal interest because that is how you see things. I do not want it made "easier". I want it to continue being the most challenging dungeon in the game... Nonetheless, the current levels at the DWB do not maximize the enjoyment of the dungeon for the wider player base... and there are players who know how and what to do in the DWB and are yet not happy with it the way it is.

Better than a snide remark from someone who only cares about himself...

Seriously, just shut up. If I only care about myself, why do I help anyone who asks me about the DWB? If I only cared about myself I would want to monopolize it and say "don't know anything, go away". Just because I think the DWB is fine as is (aka high level) doesn't mean I only care about myself. No one has a problem with the bunker except you, and you're tryung to make this into a personal argument. Why don't you go do the bunker some more, then complain to someone who cares. Because I most certainly don't.

No, I do not by any stretch of the imagination seek to make anything a personal argument, I am sorry to disappoint you, sweetheart, but you are mistaken as always. I am simply expressing an opinion, as everybody in these forums has a right to do. It doesn't even have to be a popular opinion; we live in a country that cherishes freedom of expression, perhaps nobody told you about that. And I sure don't care that you don't care, nor do I want you to. So please don't, because neither I nor anyone else has asked you to.

when it comes down to it, the increased difficulty makes the bunker what it always should have been - nearly impossible. the drama alone that the armor invokes shows it is a coveted item as it should be. to have a full suit shows the hard work, determination, and credits required from everyone involved to complete such a feat. it would truly be a slap in the face to all who have spent so many hours honing their craft if difficulty was decreased so "non power-gamers" could have relatively easily conquer the death watch bunker.
we spent a couple hours last night, just 6 of us to start, perusing the lower levels in search of liquids. we picked up 2 more and went after the overlord, taking him out with ease. as a non-jedi, i had very little problems and only died when we got bored and we ready to log.
proven time and time again is one strategy - effective leadership and overall group tactics. i would venture to say 100+ have participated in crafting on corbantis. find a team to join, or be prepared to put in endless hours and credits it takes to start your own.

having been there for the first time post-cu last night, and well over 100 times pre-cu, i would say the bunker is better than it used to be. sure, back in the day it was a blast cuz there were very, very few who knew the intricacies and not many more who were making decent progress on figuring them out. after that it just became a job, crafting 99% of the time - mandalorian and jetpacks, completing dozens of alums quests, and almost never having any deaths.

Well, you seem to think that non-powergamers should be happy with the little crumbs in the game, while the powergamers enjoy the filet mignon. And that is a *real* slap in the face to everybody who plays the game and pays the same monthly fee that you do. Just because you spend more time than everybody else playing an online game shouldn't put you in a category above everybody else, one in which people who have full-time jobs and family obligations are forbidden. This is a game... it is not a meritocracy, that goes against the very ideal of a free and equal society that America was founded on.
Now, nowhere on this thread or elsewhere have I ever said it should be something that is "easy" even for casual players. No, I enjoy the fact that it's a challenge and I would like it to continue being the most challenging dungeon in the game. And even after literally dozens of very successful DWB runs, including several successful crafting ones post-CU... after completing the foreman's quest in two live servers, having working rebreathers in two live servers, having done both factional missions, having killed both overlords dozens of times... I still say, turn it down a notch, make it so that more of the player base can enjoy it... Even after turning it down a notch, it will continue to be the most challenging dungeon in the game. And slightly increase the drop of Mando components as well as other loot for folks who help out but don't want a crafted item from the DWB.
People pay money to make this game possible, so more power to the people!
The DWB should be turned down a notch to make it less elitist. Something that benefits the player base at large *outweights* what only benefits a small minority of players... who by far and large tend to be selfish and egocentric.

If someone spends more time in the game, most certainly that should put them above everyone else and it always has in every RPG.
RPG = loot and gear = Time
every RPG is basd on the notion of improving your character and getting high level items and weapons so you can accomplish high level content. Just how it is. It is most certainly a meritocracy or a level 1 would do the same damage as a level 80 and have the same variety of weapons.
Its a game indeed, but not every game is the same. everyone may be on an equal footing in Monopoly or Chutes and Ladders, but play tennis and the guy who spends 10 hours a week on the court is gonna beat the guy who played mario tennis one time at a friend's house. So the same it is with RPGs where time invested allows you to proceed onto high and higher eschelons of the game. it happens here, it happens in guildwars, it happens in EQ2, it happens in WoW, it happens in Halo deathmatches, it happens in Quake, it happens so many places.
America was not founded on free and equal in all respects. it was founded on free and equal under the law. Everyone in SWG CANdo the DWB if they choose, no one is preventing them, but it is their own responsibility to raise themselves to the level of skill and knowledge of the bunker that it requires.
the DWB does not need to be taken down a notch, anyone who wants to do it should be prepared to raise themselves a notch, or else what is the point? to kill a mob who wears a cool looking armor who is really just the same as some dathomir nightsister trash? To lower the difficulty because some people find it a challenge isn't broadening the experience, it's cheapening it. If some people find it a challenge, it's because they have not yet progressed to the level of character for which it was designed. the DWB was built to cater to the needs of elites and powergamers who couldn't find interest in the family-fare of the game's bulk of caves.
The DWB is a place FOR the elite of SWG to have fun, it's a playground FOR THEM, and we enjoy it immensely as it is.
