Q: Will the New Faction Armor be the 1st step in the Galatic Civil War Revamp?
Q: When can we expect the revamp(s) to go into affect?
A: No.
A: Unknown at this time, but when it happens, I'll let you know

I don't know, but I will find out next week.

Actually, as pointed out by someone else (and I never saw the link to the idea untill someone pointed out!), the battle armor for rebels, helmet...looks allot like the clam helmet worn by the rebel troopers from ANH.

I have to agree, your armor designer has a serious thing for the flaired out helmet look like in RIS. No need to bring it into the rebel armor as well. Interesting armor is one thing, but lets keep it Star Wars and not some anime fan's sick armor dream -- diverisfy!!!!
So, I've been working with the team to try and get that Rebel Helmet into the game. My last discussions about it left off with it going into the loot revamp as a drop- - I'll check on that again early next week too.

I think all the armor is greatand the whole "its too hightech" for rebels, take a closer look, alot of the parts look cloth like with bits of metal shoved onto cover major points.
I hope they keep them and bring them inif they do change rebels hope they keep these designs for quests or neutral armour later be awesome to wear and use
Good observations - that is the approach the art team had when putting the Rebel armor together - - that it should look low tech.

One question... Will storm trooper armor still be earned the same way or will the millions of credits worth of suits I've bought and earned be worthless after the revamp?
Faction armor will be crafted by armorsmiths. Faction armor schematics will be purchased with faction points. Existing suits of armor will be converted to the new system. At first glance, I'd say you shouldn't be effected too much. If anything, the suits will be more in demand given their usability in combat will be improved.
As usual TH, you only pick and choose the posts that agree with you andyour armor and never answer ar even consider the posts of the players that think that armor is NOT apropriate for Rebels.
Its like talking to a brick wall.
You sure have changed since the Pre-Beta Forums. And not for the better iether.

There is actually no precedent for Rebel Armor in the Canon and very very little in the EU. We did quite a bit of research and none of the EU rebel armor was anywhere near as cool as the Imperial armor so we worked with LucasArts to get the new armor approved.
This new Rebel Armor is canon now
i think one of the things that you guys really missed the point of everything that any rebel ever wore in the movies, is that you could see thier faces. the only people on the imperial side that you saw were the officers. everyone else, all the storm troopers, looked exactly like the last one you killed. i think it just made it so that when you saw a rebel die, you saw a person dieing. Not just a body in a plastic shell.
Exactly

Yea but the Rebels never wore armor... so its not really something that can be compared in MHO. I mean if the rebels did ever wear armor, you better believe they would want to have as much covered as possible. Sure, for a story world point of view open faces would show a diffrence between Rebels and Imps... however in reality.... thats not how it works.![]()
Then they need to style whatever armor more closely to the past uniforms!!
And no, were not talking reality, we are talking Starwars!!!!!
For which these new armorsdo NOT look a part of for Rebels.

Hey TH, thanks for coming around on a Saturday!
Could you find the answer to "Why the Rebel Helmet (ROTJ Endor Helmet) was removed as a reward, and no longer attainable?" Please?
About the Rebel Trooper Helemets, if loot drop means it's the fastest way to get them in... hehe, then any way is good, but I'd like to see them implemented the right way (awarded through Faction and having armor stats).
I am a traditional movie kind of fan, no doubt we've discussed this before, but I know things have to be added... no question there.
I was just very hopeful that the new Rebel Faction armor would bring more of the movie look to the game as there are some authentic movie helmets that could be used.
I was actually hoping that the Rebel Trooper and the Imperial Trooper helmets would make it in with these new faction armors.
The Imperial Trooper Helmets/Outfit are perfect for the player character in this game that is not going to role-play a Storm Trooper, but wants to be representative of the Empire. The Shock Trooper Armor is good for this as well
Unfortunately it seems to me that people have decided these items look too goofy.
I just think that is ridiculous.
I don't care who thinks they look goofy... it IS what was worn.
The rebel helmets from the movies must be implemented and have comparable stats to the best.
No sense in making the same mistake again... having the traditional stuff not as good as non-traditional stuff.
May the Force be with you

To everyone saying that the Rebels never wore any armor in the movies...
They absolutely wore helmets!
Not full suits, but definately helmets.
In the game, we have Mabari, Padded, Chittin and Bone Helmets that are all open-faced.
Saying that the movie helmets are open-faced is no defense for not using them.
I think we could all live (I should say PLAY) with open-faced helmets.
Let's not let "reality" hinder the Star Wars Tradition of this game.

OK, now I'm glad I'm still a Master AS, even though I hardly make armor any more. Now I will.
