Thread: Star Wars Names: The Name Doctor is IN!
Okay, I guess I'll give this a shot.. ![]()
Name: Arkon Tiberius
Human male, Pistoleer, Musician, Squad Leader and ![]()
I'm a Zabrak Smuggler ...... and due to my alchohalic Father was names "Guinness"....
He picked up the Brew Studying a sect of Humans called the Irish ...... Guess he was fond of it enough to name his only Born after it =p
Anyway its not my fault i have it .... rate away
I don't want to flame people, and I hate sounding condescending, but Earth isn't in the same galaxy, nor are any Terran civilizations around at this time. "Long time ago" "Galaxy far away" and all that. It seems funny to me how many people put modern, real life places, people, or societies into their backgrounds/names.
Not that I'm telling anyone how to play their game, or how to think. Your character is yours to do with what you will.... at least, until the naming rules are actually enforced. Then everyone is potentially in trouble.
Here is PAGE 12 NAMES. Thank you all for posting!
Orvo Oece
I like this one. It is 2 fours, which sounds very nice together. Good use of vowels.
Lucille Verolimon
I have been thinking about whether Lucille is a good Star Wars name, and I've decided it has the advantage of being uncommon in our society now. Verolimon works adequately as well.
akaDEATH
I would like you to take your friend Stinky Pants and go play Counterstrike.
Tygas Rogen
Very nice name. But I keep thinking of hair loss for some reason. This name passes.
Katoth
Hmm, I think this one works very well. I would be intrigued to hear what last name you would think works with this. I have one: Sal'robl.
Maevir Songo
Hmm, works for me, though I am amused by your entertainer roots in your last name.
Kirkrok
Kirk Rocks! He's my fave! Ok, ok, this is a nice Trandoshan name. If you can put any sort of sliding sounds in, it would be better.
Becrux Deaco
Hmm, the name trips a bit on the tongue. If it was me, I would work a little bit on streamlining the sound for it. Belcrux Deacol, or some such.
Brae Skah
Are you a UO player who longs for Skara Brae? But seriously, the sounds are nice, but we should condense it to one name: Braeskah.
Nuira Tova
Interesting ways of saying the first name. I think this name works well on a couple levels. Is this a female or male name? I get a strong feminine sense from it.
Stoshi Urxy
I would just stick with Stoshi in this case. Another decent Trandoshan name, which could be made better with more of a slide to the sound.
Serai Den
Riis' Law. Good name, and it moves different parts of your mouth to make the sounds, which is good in this case.
Eeron Aboafi
Double "E" names make me a little nervous. In this case I would just hit the Eron Aboafi. With the complexity of the last name, I feel it would be essential to make the first name move quickly so the voice can linger on the complexities of the last name.
Kiera Zan
This is a good name. Fast, uncommon, yet familiar. I would pronounce it "Kee-ra"
Xeero Kovinda
My "x" name bias rears it's ugly head again. I would advise against "Zero" in this way. You have stumped me on the nature of your homage, but the name itself sounds good.
Ravien Zaudun
Two surprising names strung together. I like it. Rav-ee-en. Very nice.
Kibaan Annannon
And it is a fine name. I especially like how bold you were with egregious repeated letters. ![]()
Ishy Sae'dar
Fine name. Riis' Law is stretched here but fine.
Asran Kast
Is this old man named Jodo? And how DOES Jodo feel about a competing bounty hunter with his last name. Kast is so image conscious, I would expect he would try to kill you. ![]()
Sapuro Kegi
Very Japanese. That is my only concern here.
Dove Takki, Peregrine Takki
There's a saying...you name a girl Chastity, and you set yourself up for disappointment. I think the parents of these two just learned this. ![]()
Balzer Gwaken
Um, you sure this isn't an obscene joke?
Other than that, it's fine. My friend has a character using my account named....wait for it...Scrod LeSac. And he insists he didn't see the bad joke in it for years (he started using it when he was a teenager).
RbT
And these are the Page 13 names. I am let me say it big here:
OFFICIALLY caught up! Woohoo! Keep those names coming, chillun!
Micha Lightblade
Micha is a name which I wish I saw more of, being a good Slavic name with an alternate spelling. Lightblade is a little gonky, but works well enough.
Sinker Sladdo
Sinker is of course a nickname, and I would love to hear a justification for it. Sladdo is quite appropriate. All in all, you sound a little sleazy...I hope that was your intent.
Arkon Tiberius
A little too Greek/Roman for my taste, but my tongue is quite tuned to that. Arkon is an interesting alternate spelling of Archon, a great guardian type title. Tiberius of course has play as a famous Roman name, then as the middle name of James Kirk, and thus is well known. For this reason, I would advise shying away from it.
Dorf Derdafin
Dorf is a nice nickname as well, or I guess you could be a German village. Derdafin is a better last name than Dorf is a first name.
Guinness Draught
Your attempts at a backstory simply have not succeeded, my friend. This name goes on the no list. And in red to boot. ![]()
Wookanooknook
I normally only make one name in red nowadays, but this one ties Guinness up there as big no-nos, but I understand your attempts at humor.
Remember not only has to be Star Wars appropriate, but also not pull us from the immersion into an alternate reality by egregiously being too culturally centered in the here and now, or simply silly in a very culturally specific way, like this name.
Whoa, I am not used to doing this few names at a stretch, so I will offer you some variations on my name that I feel would make for fun Star Wars names:
Steve Williams
This name doesn't flow right, or have a good Star Wars flavor. Therefore, I would advise you use a letter borrowing system to make a name, first six and sixes:
Steams Evewil, Steams Smaeve, Liwets Eveams, Stesma Eveliw, Smaste Liweve.
Now some six and six and twos:
Steams Evewilst, Steams Smaevest, Liwets Eveamsev, Stesma Eveliwev, Smaste Liwevewi
Now for some added fun: eight and eights:
Steviams Tevewill, Steviams Smaievet, Lliwvets Evetiams, Stevsmai Evetlliw, Smaistev Lliwevet.
And so on, and so forth.
Until Again,
RbT
The homage thing is sort of odd... it's not the spelling, or sound of the name, it's just the fact that all of the mafia heads have rather long, striking names, mostly because of the Italian nature of said names. That isn't the entirety of it, I think, because I've seen some rather silly sounding (and looking) Italian family names.
Thanks for the kind words for my other character names, by the way.![]()
Ok me next
I have 2 accounts
Jorgan Bradwisch, Human Male.
Jorgen Bradwisch, Human Male.
Brothers
This looks like fun, I'll bite too.
Rorecros Daiau (like my sig)
pronounced roar-eh-kros (last names hard
) dai-a-oo
Bounty Hunter, medic, ranger, currently in the employ of the Imperials.
