Thread: Star Wars Names: The Name Doctor is IN!
Oh heck I'll give this a try.
Here's mine :
Ishy Sae'dar
female Zabrak Ranger/Rifleman
Ok my name is Asran Kast. Im a human bounty hunter/ ranger. I grew up in the outskirts of Tyrena with no knowledge of my parents. A old man found me wandering a back alley and took me under his wing. He taught me the ways of the bounty hunter and gave me the honorific last nameKast (i dont know my real last name)... his last name.
This is the story for my guy. Its actuallythe nameI madeup for myguy from Knights of the Old Republic on Xbox. I liked the name so I used it again on Galaxies.
Riis,
Though this may be obvious, I would suggest 'ctr-c'ing your message before you click the send button. I've done the same thing...taken an hour or two to write a post, and then lost it. This will at least allow you to just try and send it again.
Occamz Zryzor
Tarquinas Squad Leader exceptionale
Ooo do me do me! Sapuro Kegi, female Twi'lek BH
(loves this stuff)
Lemme give this a try:
Dove Takki
Human Female
Novice CH, Novice Pistoleer and Novice Dancer
AND
Peregrine Takki
Human Female
Master Doctor, Novice Pistoleer
I know our names are mixed up...Dove=peace hence should be a doctor and Peregrine=hunter so should be more aggressive but we were uhm...trying for ironic. Yeah, that's the key!
Oh and for a friend:
Balzer Gwaken
Male Zabrak
Master Scout, Master Marksman (soon to be Novice BH)
opps forgot the other info.
Micha Lightblade
Human Male
Smuggler/Pistoleer
These are the page 10 folks. These are the dreamers of dreams. ![]()
Emf Longrider - Human/Ranger
Sounds vaguely unsavory, but what ranger isn't? Other than that, fine.
Rotor Rotorian
Unoriginal? Maybe. Silly? Yes. Do you belong to they Rotary club?
Atraya Luckdragon
Atraya is a fine "A" name, but Luckdragon is a little too fantasy for my taste. I know the name's history and like it, sp I'm not filled with advice about it. Theonly saving grace for all of you folks with your dragon names is that dragons exist in the universe, after a fashion. My 3 year old son was devastated when I told him there were no real dragons, but then wewent to the zoo and he saw the Komodo Dragons. So I guess it's all relative, because in my adult world, I know there are no realdragons, and in my son's world, there most certainly are!
Ayer Jeth
Good name. Riis' Law works here. Perhaps Arca was an ancestor?
Sadeth Starcloud
Sadeth is a fine name, and Starcloud works, evoking all sorts of fun romantic images.
Paks
Perhaps this is a nickname? And short for Pakkryybehk? Just a thought.
Gyylghrard
As a Wookiee, eh? Well Gil Gerard was a fine actor and all, but a Wookiee? ![]()
Occamz Zryzor
A little too silly, I'm afraid. Of course, I've known what Occam's Razor was for years, but an interesting aside is a friend of mine who is not as well versed was glancing over these names and he said, "Hey, that's that thing from the movie "Contact"! I would advise against names such as these.
Ja'Art Ho'ba
Jah-art Ho-bah. I spell it out like this to show how the ending sound that mirrors the starting sound causes a nice bookend for a name. This name thus is on my good list, and Santa shall visit it.
Jakyshyk
Now, I've mellowed considerably on Wookiee names, but I can't pass on the J name. Bakyshyk, Pakyshyk, Chakyshyk, all pass because of the debate about speaking, but the "J" is such a specialized sound to create in the mouth, I just can't say "yes."
Jerran Mistlighter
The J names roll on! Jerran is a good name, and Mistlighter is good as well. Though I get this image of a guy with a torch walking into a methane mist or something and "lighting" it. It's really early here, and my coffee isn't ready yet, so I apologize.
Taninn Karn
Very strong name. Ipass this with a tiny blue ribbon. I also have a bitter taste in my mouth from it (from the tannin, get it?).
Aenarian
While I applaud the effort, this looks like a Roman name. It's got all the constructions of it. In fact, I am certain I have seen this name somewhere before in Roman literature, but I don't have those books available. Let's just call it too Latin for my taste. Now, shall we modify it slightly? Enuran would work, or Anaren...
Guan Kai Rong
Well, it doesn't get more (Cantonese) Asian than this. If you read the thread, I explained my Star Wars naming bias against Asian names. I am sure it means something quite cool, but Qui-Gon Gin it is not. I would advise keeping the style, but changing the spelling to makeit afun Jedi-esque name.
Logenn Runner
Funny. Joke. Well, You know I will say no, and the reasons are quite obvious. Though I like the alternate spelling of "Logan"...is this because it was taken on that server?
Brot Sabat
I'll pass this one through, though the last name gives me pause.
Derrek Crowngard
A very very fantasy name. The Derrek is fine for Star Wars, but the last name is a little much. I would advise a change on this one. Coming back, the "Doctor" who "guards your crown (head)" is a little funny.
Mitche Anterion
Mitche is fine, though the "e" at the end seems a bit much. Anterion is quick Latin in construction, which can be a no-no. I would advise a shift here as well. I didn't DIS-like either Derrek or Mitche's last names, I just think there could be better fits for the genre.
Rayner Jacklight
Rayner is a good name, and found in many works in both Fantasy and Sci-Fi. The Jacklight name got a chuckle out of me, but in all it sounds and types well.
Kealar bal'Sung
Well, aside from my pet naming style, the name itself is quite nice. I would suggest keeping it, or picking a Kuati house to align with
. That being said, I am certain the Kuati do not have a lock on the particle "bal-". Alreadythe Kuati elite joke about "Garm bel-Iblis" which would be a female on Kuat. ![]()
Blackk
It's okk, but ccan be a bitt hardd on the eyess. ![]()
Cygnus Omega
Isn't this a southern hemisphere star? Seriously, I think it is a bit much, being two very Greek words strung together. If we were playing a Xena game, I would be so there. I would advise a vowel shift, like Cygnes Emoge, or Cignas Amoga. Hmm....
Arjik Vibo
Works fine. Short and sweet, and we don't know much about Rodian names, so, yes.
Jor'ha S'waak
The last name needs a tiny bit of work..in this case maybe just shifting the apostrophe over to Swa'ak. Otherwise, it flows fine and looks fine.
Well, there were the page 10ers. Thanks for joining the fray.

Dyrn Czantor
A "durn" good name, but you are culturally locating yourself a little bit. I like how the letters look near eachother in this one, and while not perfectly musical, it will pass.
By "culturally locating", do you mean in game, or real life? And what culture would that point at?
(I'm guessing Russian or Romanian)
I meant like sounding quick Slavic or Eastern European. ![]()

Page 11 names here.
Daugo Massori
Yes, indeed. I like it. Some may say I am getting soft on the Romance language endings, but I think it fits in this case.
Mr StinkyPants
Names like this make me want to give up and go home.
Vylan Shadowrunner
V name alert!I like it. And the Shadowrunner thing is fine from a technical standpoint, but "Dark-", "Shadow-", "Death-" names tend to get you pegged as a teenage boy (whether this is true, warrented or not). It's sad but true. But you ran into this with a name like "villain shadowrunner."
Kore Ulrak
Very Germanic. Works for me. I presume the first name is pronounced "Ko-re"
Ghe Drand
VERY nice first name. I wish I would see more constructions with a bit of daring like this one. The Drand is a little bland, but with the Ghe, you make an interesting phrase, musically speaking.
Kaefo
Sure. It's close to a Germanic root meaning "to buy" also.
Totolik Nosferu
Totolik is fine, but Nosferu is a tainted word forevermore, I'm afraid. Too Vampirey. I don't know if the word could ever be rehabilitated, and yes I know the word Nosferatu goes back further than the Stroyteller games.
Trinitil Ulabau
Throw in an apostrophe on the last name and it would feel really nice. It works for me. Everyone say this one out loud. ![]()
Sipo Freesun
Like it. I paused a bit on "Freesun" but realized it is agoodStar Wars name. Anglo-Saxon fusion there.
Pichi Atice
Looks good, and looks like it is made with some sort of generator. Well, that is what they are for, so kudos.
Dyvanos Vy'Damos
My eyes started watering on this one. It's a little, well, how to say it...repetitive? Yes, indeed repetitive. I would suggest starting over, keeping the last name and trying again with the first. ![]()
Thorin Kinslee
Thorin is, luckily for you, also quite Scandanavian, but on general principles I would avoid such a name in this environment. Kinslee is fine, but a little too Earth-modern for my tastes.
Iendiaron Reouf
Another Latin constuction on the first name, switched around a bit to spread it out. I definitely applaud the effort, but suggest you tinkermorewith the first name. The last name is fine.
Gatekeeper
And I am the Keymaster.
I'm sorry, but without an exceptional backstory, this one won't fly with me.
Kendoo
A good Rodian name. Heck, a good stereotypical Indian servant of a British Officer name. ![]()
Modin Ackack
Well the one name thing. And ackack sound like something you fly through.
Keep Modin, ditch the Ackack, or ditch Modin, and add a letter in Ackack...Ackvack, Ackrack, Ackdack, Ackhack, whoa, I just realized most of those possible combinations are silly, like Ackpack, Acklack, etc.
Ty'llen Cymru
You know, I said I speak a bit ofWelsh, and here you drag CYMRU before me? Of COURSE I have torespond to that one. It's...well, it's...no. I can't let this one be.
Species? Well theWelsh love their dragons, so I'll guess Trandoshan. The Red Dragon inspires action.
Isharik Myu
Either too African, or very very good. I'll pick the very good. I like how it flows.
