Thanks for the guide! However, I have a question..
Is there anyway to become glowy if you only have 3 content badges (Imp, Jabba and Nym)? I have over 20 POI badges, 4-5 are which jedi poi and approximately 2 or 3 difficult ones. I became surging when I visited the ruined jedi temple. I'm just wondering if I can avoid the warrens and figure out a way to glow? I'm mainly an artisan at the moment and don't have high combat skills...and my progress on them is S-L-O-W. lol
You really are going to need either 2 Corvette badges or those two warren badges once you are done. The warren is a very easy, although frustrating dungeon because it is really easy to get lost and turned around. A buffed elite combat master can solo it without difficulty. And that is assuming it isn't filled with players(like it usually is on live servers) which helps to keep the enemy spawn way down. In your case I'd recommend one of the following:
Get an Elite combat player(preferably one that has been through the warren) to go along with you as a bodyguard. Then just get buffed and put on some armor for your own protection and you'll be fine. You don't actually have to kill anything in the Warren to get the two badges save for self defense.
The second option would be the corvette badges. If you can find a group that is going that is willing to have you tag along. You can shuttle up to the warren and just stay huddled in the entry area where you will be safe. Once the group completes the tasks required you just run around the corner and hit the escape pod and you've got your badge. I don't see many people outside of guild members or people who are good friends with combat players taking this route. But, it is probably the easiest and quickest route if you have players willing to let you tag along.
In other news, I'm glad this guide has helped everyone get to glowing. I'm going to update it in a few days with the following:
- remove references to professions/holo professions as alternates mainly because at this point just about everyone is transitioned over to the new system and I can't see many people going the master every profession route again unless it is something they find fun.
- Make some minor updates to the POI requirements(mostly just make things a bit clearer).
- Update the format of the guide slightly(again to make things clearer)
- Include links to guides to the dungeons for convenience sake
- Include links to some of the excellent guides out there as to what you do once you are glowing.
At that point I'm going to pretty much call the guide final. If something major comes up I'll update accordingly but for the most part it should be done.
For those few who have completed this guide and still have every badge under the sun, but still aren't glowing, I really am not sure what is going on there. I have only seen one person with my own eyes who had this problem and by all accounts it is very very very rare when this happens. The best I can suggest is you manually double check each and every badge you have(some people have had cases where a badge they got somewhere has poofed) and make sure you have done all the themeparks again since badges were implemented.
This problem happens so rarely I'm inclined to think it is either a bug or oversight as 99.9% of the time, you follow this guide, you glow.
For those who are saying they glowed without ever mastering a profession at all. Are you going just by badges or do you mean you have never ever mastered a profession? Because profession mastery before badges were implemented probably counts. It is also possible that no profession mastery at all is needed(or perhaps it can be substitued by spending nearly all your skill points) but from all the testing we did with this patch on Test Center(not TC2 which had altered code) new players still had to master one profession.
It is certainly possible that they changed it to not require any profession mastery at all, but since almost every player at least has mastered one profession at some point or another(even a novice one) it isn't something easy to track down.

an old man says "Tneu Ombadu I have important information to discuss with you."
an old man rushes away.
I never got a chance to see him and couldn't find him anywhere..we're talking a maximum of a minute!!
I've been glowing for a few days but have been working on my Teras Kasi because I love to watch myself in 3rd person performing the art and wish to master it. How crappy - I wonder how long it will be before he makes another visit?
Good luck everyone, and pay attention while in game..you never know when he'll come in and Ricky Williams the he11 outta there
