I can verify that modding the JtL space combat music does not work anymore.
the files are placed in the sample folder, and named the right names, yet the standard JtL music plays.
looks like no cowboy bebop action music while fighting in space for me

Not true actually, I've still got one playing that I done when I first read this thread. I think you may find that there are many more JTL music tracks now, maybe yours' isn't getting played before you land or something. But can 100% say JTL music mods work.
mus_space_battle_lp_01.mp3
mus_space_battle_01_victory.mp3
Are the two that still work just fine for me.

You know, I've been fooling with this for some time now, trying to get it to work. I want to say that I like the John Williams score, but honestly.. it's wearing thin. Not to say it's bad, but I feel like if I hear Star Wars combat music one more time, I'm going to strangle someone.
I'm a big music fan, so replacing the overplayed, and really not super-fabulous to begin with music with a blend of my own personalization is optimal.
In my experiments I have uncovered two important facts that are oft overlooked:
1. YES, you absolutely MUST HAVE the mp3 file extension on the file names.
2. The folder has to be starwarsgalaxies/music The "music" part MUST BE ALL LOWERCASE. If you capitalize "music" it will not work.
If you're planning on doing this whole thing, you should be aware that it's hard, because it's next to impossible to figure out which songs play where, and what triggers them. Combat ones are obvious enough, but even if you go and replace every single combat song, you will still get the default Star Wars junk music most of the time.. at least, that's been my experience.

The CU messed most of this up. I have planet specific songs that work great.
I have the "March of the Ewoks" for Endor and the Jawa one for Tatooine, etc.

I get about half and half with the non-combat songs. I get a custom combat song about 1 in every 8 times after replacing all of the default music.

Can you list the names of the combat songs you replaced? Maybe I am missing some of them.

Does anyone have a complete list of what is played when, including the new RotW stuff? This is an awesome post, and I'd be happy to help complile the lists.
thanks!

Bad news folks..it turns out that doing this actually DOES violate the EULA
according to Tiggs post on the subject of 3rd party programs.
