So... Windows is classed as a 3rd party program is it?

Essentially all you're doing is renaming a file not related to SWGand putting it somewhere, what if I use windows move a screenshot to a folder called screenshots in my SWG foder?

I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game

The quote from Tiggs:

The 3rd party progam post was not only for macros but all programs. Changing anything with game play is considered against our EULA or TOS agreement including changing art, music ect.

I don't think this is the same thing as what this thread is discussing. No game files are changed, you merely copy mp3 files into a folder, and the game already looks in that folder and.. for some reason.. uses the MP3 files contained within. In other words, the game client was specifically programmed to seek them out and use them.

Another problem with the argument that this is against the TOS, is the fact that this thread still exists.. it was created last March, and they've had 7 months to lock/delete/whatever the thread, but it's still here.

A Definative answer would be nice from the Devs. I want to change my music because I can no longer stand the default music, but I also don't want to violate the TOS or EULA.

I don't get it.. EQ2 uses the same EULA, but yet they allow custom music done the same way.

According to Tiggs post on the subject, it is. She specifically said modding the music was a violation. I think it's crap that it is but I'm just reporting that she said it.

Well, until I get a warning, I'm keeping mine.

I have the Tatooine Jawa theme for Tat, March of the Ewoks for Endor etc. Until the actual Devs can match my music from the trilogy, as opposed to the same generic crap for each planet, I'm keeping it.

Ive Managed To Change Most Of The Music In The Game But The Only one i cant is the battle music ... (the One I Want The Most) I Have The Song picked as the last battle music from Episode III and ive changed the file name but it still wont play .... i think it might have something to do with the a b c thing on the Guide could someone explain to me what i might be doing wrong?

This Is The Bit In The Guide i dont understand?

Combat Music (the stuff you want to change the most)
There is and a, b, and c for each player_v_player/npc/creat and the old combat music.

Note: player_v_player does not mean it only plays while pvp'ing. The same goes for player_v_npc and player_v_creat

Thankyou

There are over 20 some-odd combst musics in the game, meaning that if you want it to play your custom music all the time, you'd have to come up with 20 or so replacements, all named correctly. If you just replace one combat song, you'll get that song about once about every 20 or so times.

This really should get some support from SOE, it really helps cut out the tedium which is the Star Wars score.

I'm trying to find out how to replace a certain combat song (the song when the trade federation is marching into Theed in episode 1 i think), but I don't know which title to useto replace it.

I figured I could use a brief 1/2 second .mp3 file sound for each of these files:

mus_player_v_player_a_lp
mus_player_v_player_b_lp

mus_player_v_player_c_lp

mus_player_v_npc_a_lp

mus_player_v_npc_b_lp

mus_player_v_npc_c_lp

mus_player_v_creat_a_lp

mus_player_v_creat_b_lp

mus_player_v_creat_c_lp

mus_combat_a_lp

mus_combat_b_lp

mus_combat_c_lp

then take away 1 song and let the 1/2 mp3 sound play for each of the 11 combat songs, and then when the one combat song that wasn't covered in my music folder played, i could then know which title accesses that song (I've got a lot of time on my hands today and I really want this one combat song out of the queue )

Anway, I did what i said above, and found that there was at least 5 other combat songs, maybe more that are not accounted for using the above-mentioned song titles in my "music" folder.... including the PRE-CU song which i wanted to get rid of.

So maybe part "c" wasn't enough...? I triedadding on a part "d" to each of the 4 catergories, then part "e", "f",... "g". still cannot seem to access the post CU songs, and more importantly, the one pre-CU song i really want to replace.

Anyone have a more current list of titles that can be used in your music folder to replace the music that plays while in combat...?

What someone needs to do is make a way to listen to all the music in the game, that way you'd know which file was what specific song.
