Thread: The chase for FSCS Dev response wanted

Heh, it may not be a "pattern" per say. But I really don't believe theholocrons were put in place just so we could learn that you have to master 5 professions (no matter how they are selected). I think the 4 that the holos tell us are supposed to lead us in some fashion to the 5th.

Whether it's a pattern, logic, similarity in roles, or what. That's why I worded the question to the Devs the way I did.

I'll make this short. If anyone has the post of the original quote about holocron release, please add a link to it below. The developers have already posted that Holocrons have been added to the game to give us hints to how we will find our own paths to unlock FSCS. This was a hint from the devs and I dont expect the devs to respond atall to this string or any other further attempts to find out about hints. They have given us unannounced hint in the original post about this. I hope that everyone will find the hint that the holocrons offer. I hope that i find it too. The holocrons give us 4/5 professions to master to unlock, and should provide some kind of hint as to how we are to find the final one. This is the reason that the voice will not reveal any more clues to unlock. It has tried to hint you in 4 times already... 4/5 of the path has been revealed to you... now you have to use the hints given already to find the last. There may be a pattern, but it is not one that you can follow from player to player... there is a pattern within all necessary skills, that we must find, using the help of the holocrons. I just hope that when the hint is given to us, we hear it for what it is.

I have not unlocked FSCS personally, so i have no foundation behind which to stand, except for the hints that the devs have offered us sofar. I am still working on my first holocron profession, but i am taking my time at it so i can look within to find the pattern... not outside my personal path. I wish all of you the very best of luck, and the best of wits. I hope that you all find the true path of the jedi, and May the force be with us all .

I doubt there's a pattern. Chances are, when you create a character a random number generator is executed that generates 5 numbers between 0 and 32. Each profession relates to each number and that's how your 5 are chosen. It could be a little more complicated but that's the easiest way for each character to have 5 random professions to open their slot.

Anyone know if Jedi had to master more than 1 elite or hybrid profession? If so man that takes some time.

I'd be more than happy to see the official answers to these questions. I've read the FAQ, and I've read most information I can find regarding this. Point me in the right direction if you don't want to provide a link, and I'll be more than glad to "study up more".

All the steps (not just holcron) are random, as has been stated in the past.

Many have had to master 3 or more elite and/or hybrid professions to open the FSCS. To date, I only know of one person who reported they had all Starting professions.

Doh! I don't think this statement says yay or nay. We all know it's random and that's what GarVa just stated again. It is the level of randomness based on what variables or no variables at all and still doesnot mention whether or not it is based on Mastered Professions only or other in-game content.

I personally still believe that yes, holo-professions are based on a set of variables and then randomly chosen within lists of categories of possible professions for certain different variables; eg. species, gender, starting profession, location, appearance, and possible, creation date/time.

Definition of 'random' - lacking a definite plan, purpose, or pattern

I do not think it could be any clearer than that. There is no pattern. It is simply 5 random professions. The four holo professions and one other profession (the other 'step' GarVa refers to in his post).

This doesn't disprove the people that think there are number patterns that relate the 5 professions. The devs wanted it to be random so they wrote a program to make it seem random. However at the time they were assuming we would never be told what any of those professions were, holos came later. Therefore they wouldn't have to make a very complicated program to assign everyone their 5 professions. They could generate one random number and use a simple pattern to pick all 5 and everyone's professions would be different, and it would be impossible to find the pattern because you would never know any of the professions in the pattern until you finished all 5. Now with holos it became possible to find a pattern. However GarVa is saying its random because it was supposed to be random, not because it is. Just like they say jedi are the most powerful players in the game, because they are supposed to be, not because they are.
