I didn't say that there ispattern. There is in fact "no pattern". But - with enough information collaborated from players, we can view similar characters that might have mastered similar professions that other players could attempt to master and unlock. There is a baseline to the randomness. The randomness has to be based of a set of variables.

Complete randomness could result in the following examples:

To unlock, master the following:

Artisan
Brawler
Entertainer
Marksman
Medic

OK - way too easy

Another:

Architect
Armorsmtih
Chef
Droid Engineer
Weaponsmith

As you can see, complete randomness would cause many odd Holo-Profession sets.

RANDOM means NO pattern.

Simple as that - stop wasting your time on the forums and just enjoy the game - focus on the journey, not the destination, and you will have a lot more fun!

There is nothing fun about grinding. If you play the game it was meant to be played you will never, never finish all 5 professions.

I could see myself mastering 5 professions eventually. I'ld hit 4 with my current plan if I keep playing long enough. Just ... not too likely the 5 I picked would be the 5 the randomizer picked.

But I don't think I'll see the 4 before I'm done. Bonus decay does too much to discourage PvP, and the Jedi 'solution' doesn't impress me in the least

Luke,

I'm pretty sure we've seen exactly those two already as openers. If not, they were only slightly off. Basically, one person with 5 starters, and another with 5 crafting elites.

Of course, on the flipside, they both fit a random pattern .

15 Masteries (in order): Marksman, Scout, MCH, Pistoleer, TKA, Fencer(H1), Medic, Combat Medic(H2), Bio-Engineer(H3), Pikeman(H4), Brawler, Entertainer, Dancer, Image Designer, Artisan,
(Wrong on two possible pattern guesses for myself so far).
Pre-guessing my opener: Swordsman or Weaponsmith.

this is totally not true especially for a power gamer who masters a profession within a week.

even if he is not doing for holocron, they'll likely only play that profession for a week before deciding they want to do something else....and they may keep that profession and go for another, or something.

It is totally and completely possible to complete all 32 professions in under a year, at least for a power gamer.

the only professions that cause problems seem to be politician and BH...and i think investigation is even easier now....

as for a casual gamer...he will likely never complete his 5 professions, unless he uses holos and/or is really lucky.

OK im a power gamer didnt get intrested in making jedi till dec 26. since then ive mastered from scratch teras, brawler, medic, combat medic, commando, and smuggler. Before that i Had pistoleer, SL, marksmen and rifleman. Teras was final holo so ive made 5 non holo prof since then.So thus i must conclude a power game with lots of money like me can do 2. profs a week im on doc now. then im gonna do bio engineer so i never ever ever ever have to craft damed meds again. ( thats the hard part takes 5 hrs with macro.you can master all othercombat medic skills in one night if you pay 5 tumblers and use area heal for 4hrs)

The problem with the holo grind is that it is decreasing the quality and knowledge of the masters. Mainly the crafters. You learn quite a bit about a prof long after you have mastered it. I have been master artisan for about a month, and I think I know less than 60% of what I will in 1 month about that prof.

The DEVS did a great job on the game... but all it is you get 5 Holocrons... you learn 4 Prof. and guess the last.... Casual gamer's game... hehe... real funny. Get over it guys, you have to use 5 cheap holocrons.... so many great ideas but Powergaming had to be it (Oh Joy!) Have fun trying to figure out a impossible variable!

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but I'm pretty sure when theyupdated us on theJedi on the servers, they mentioned something along the lines of "even now, people have begun to figure out the steps to unlocking the FSCS." - to me...well, that just doesn't sound all that "random" to me.

This is not a forum for discussion of the game and its mechanics being developed or altered, this is a help forum for getting information on the game.

That depends on if you play the game the way the DEV's "meant it to be played" or how you mean to play it. One of the chat logs quoted one of the dev's as saying that they really didn't see anyone as having reached the "end-game" of SWG until they had mastered and dropped a number of professions. And that was stated BEFORE the introduction of holo-crons if I remember correctly. Master a ton of crap, see the world, you WILL become a Jedi.

Folks are right when they say that not everyone will become a Jedi. Because not everyone is a power-gamer with 12 hours a day to play this game. Some of us have to *gasp* earn a living, or have a family that needs our love and support and interaction. I.E. - A casual gamer. NO CASUAL GAMER WILL EVER BECOME A JEDI ON HIS/HER OWN.

So, if you want to become a Jedi, stop posting on the boards, stop hunting holo's just start grinding professions. Pick the easiest of each type and start with those and then move on. You will eventually find the key to unlocking it.
