Thread: Faction Ranks
Well I can only reply to what I have seen so far (I am a Corporal in the Rebel Alliance)
Private (200 FP! Start with this when you join)
Lance Corporal (400FP! In addition to the 200 needed to join)
Corporal (800FP! In Addition to the 800 needed to join)
Am going to document this as I go up the chain but I am sure somebody must have a full list somewhere!
Does anyone know what purpose the ranking system will have?
I am corporal now working on sargent but seeing as how your rank isn't displayed and only you truly know what it is, then what is the point of spending extremely hard to get faction pts on it? just wondering
Corporal Pointblank of the Rebel Alliance
Yea, there should be an option to show your rank to the public or not.
A rank system, just to provide a large max. faction point poll is rubbish....
I can only comment on what i have so far but heres what i know.
The function of ranks is to increase the maximum carrying capacity of faction points. To clarify this, when you first start out, you can see every item that you can buy on the list, but you will not be able to attain enough points to actually buy them, unless you get these ranks. I have been buying them as i get the points because im trying to get a most expensive faction item. If anyone can add what the actual faction limits are per rank it would be great. The costs seem to increase by 400 each rank.
One last thing to add, when you purchase a rank, say it costs 400 over the minimum (ie you must have 600 faction to be promoted) it doesnt actually take away 400 faction, it only takes away like 380 or so, as they get more expensive, you get a little more left over each time, i think the 2000 cost one only actually took away 1850 or so faction from me when i bought it.

That's straight from the Guide by Prima. So if its wrong. Not my Fault
To my knowledge I thought you needed ranks to be eligable for higher perks and to be able to raise your cap on how many faction points you can occur?
Does anyone know for sure which ranks raise what limits?
I am trying to save 6000 FP and do not wish to give up 4000 to raise the cap only to find out later I didnt have to.
I know I could just test the limits...but a guide would be soooo appreciated.
Hi everyone ![]()
I need some help,
anyone knows where i can find a list of the faction ranks ??
Yeah i do,
go to any computer game store and take a look at Prima's guide to SWG. Its not worth buying it but it has info in it like that. I just looked at it myself yesterday.
