For those who play EQ or EQ2 as well as SWG, here's a couple handy aliases for logging out.
/alias camp /sit;/pause 1;/logout;/
/alias desktop /pause 30;/quit
Just run those commands once, then you can "/camp" to cleanly logout to char select, and "/camp desktop" to cleanly logout and leave the game. If you want to edit your alias file directly, you can add the following two lines:
/alias camp /sit;/pause 1;/logout;/
/alias desktop /pause 30;/quit

Has the character size also been removed? Cant check now but thats so annoying, come on, its stored local and has a character limit? Which idiot invented that. Ran cross it when storing all my resources & stats + my character bio (that I cant continu because the profile also has a character limit :'()
But I agree, for the rest /notepad is a great tool

You can also use color codes in the /notepad. It's very useful for creating shop signs, harvester names etc. Once you have it in the notepad, you can copy it to the shop sign field (in the structure terminal).
If you want to create text with a lot of different colors, it's good to open the notes.txt in Windows totype the color codesin there. Why? Because everytime you start with "\", the next 7 Characters are not being printed, as the notepad expects thecolor code.
Or, what I do frequently: first enter #123456 (which is the color code, just like in HTML) and some text after it, then go back in front of the #123456 and type \. So you can see what you are typing.
I use the /notepad for maintaining my price list.
As we are talking about useful stuff, could we have an ingame calculator? Would be sooooo useful when calculating prices for produced items. Pleeaaase!

My tip is to do with running multiple clients.
I'd sometimes get Direct X errors when trying to run a third client at the same time, but I found that if you discon one of the two clients you have logged on and leave it at the character select screen, you can load the third one on and then log the first one back on from the char select screen.

If you have friends on EQ2 or EQ then they can join the same chat chanel: They can join yours by /join swg.servername.chat.roomname (in theory). You can send tells (I've done this) via /tell EQ2.servername.charachtername and they can either /reply or type your path name thing.
To contact eq1 players I think you need [ instead of /.
You must only use this knowledge to convince the poor fools of SWG's superiority or to slag off EQ or Sony in general.
This should work in reverse but /join is reserved so I'm not sure how to join a chat that is started in EQ2

I keep all my tailoring info in my notepad, so much easier when someone asks what clothing they can have combat tissues put into (for example) I can just grab the details and drop them a mail for them
I don't know how I survived without it

Go to your Ctrl-O options menu
select "controls" from the menu on the left
Select "keymap" at the bottom of that menu
Now search the "Chat" tab at the top from the menu that pops up and rebind your "Chat text copy" and "chat text paste" command, or something like that.
Rebinding it to "ctrl-shift-c" and "ctrl-shift-v" is easy to remember.
I use /note a ton to save colored sign/structure names, keep notes on current creature resources, and to type up long emails before I send it..

KStarfire is correct on this, it is under the profiles. If you edit it outside of SWG, you can access the changes in SWG - good for recording resource stats to update swgcraft.com or someplace similar.

I like /notepad and use it a lot (hehe, nice workaround for those pesky macros that keep disappearing) - now if we only could have a /calc - I'd love to see an ingame calculator (I hate alt-tabbing back to windows to use calc.exe)... Please? Pretty please?
