Thread: Tuesday Tips December 14th Dont forget about the notepad!
Each week, Q-3PO started a thread for you to share game tips with fellow players. Tuesday Tips will continue on with that tradition so be sure to join in and add your helpful tip. Do you have a little known command you use all the time? A cool place to visit? A trick (non-exploit) to getting more out of the game?
Share it here.
To get things started:
One of the little things that new players not know of and that veterans may overlook from time to time is the handy notepad.
Type /notepad and you will pull up a notepad that will save your notes. You can save plans for a player event, jot down bazaar notes and information, reminders of things to go back and check into and all sorts of things.
What small tip do you know that is often forgotten or overlooked?
Check out last week's tips
And its a great place to store your macro's so that the "Macro Monster" does not eat the really long ones.

I dont know off the top of my head, but I will find out tomorrow and get back to ya
Yep, that's where it is. Also, if you look in that folder you'll find another file called macro.txt. This file is all of your macros. It can be moved to the same directory on another computer so you don't have to write them again.

I use /note a LOT. It is under your account name under profiles. If you have characters on multiple servers but the same account, they all share the same notepad... but if you have multiple accounts, each account has a seperate notepad. The text file that stores your macros is in the same location. Some of your game settings (such as chat color) are also stored in this location while others are stored in the folders for the servers.
Also another little known one is ctrl-up arrow when you send a misstell to repeat the last line. Go up and correct your mistake and resend the message.

/nod
i use /note a lot as well, very very convenient for jotting down bits of info that i need...better than alt+tabbing to word or some other place to recall bits of relevant info (e.g. geno codes, etc)
