The rebel herald on Yavin4 sends you on an 11km run to a rebel held Imperial base, thats it, nothing else there

Ctrl and < and > changes the text size in the chat window.

You can use Cntl+ "," or "." to resize the font in the spatial chat box.

You can set yourself to walking by default in the control tab of the options menu. then you can ask everyone else "Hey, where's the fire?"

Tip: remove your weapon to get missions as they spawn closer if you do

Tip: If you are a CH and aranged combatantwith DoT you can solo krayts, or anything else. Simply use 1 pet each time you hit the Krayt with DoT, run away for 3 minutes, come back, and the Krayt or whatever has 5k less health and one of your pets is now incapacitated. Rinse and repeat with 10 pets and you have killed yourself a krayt dragon. (i have done this numerous times)

If your waypoints become bugged and stop working (can't create new ones or destroy old ones), all you need to do to fix it is force the game to load your character again. You can do this by logging, dying, or by taking a shuttle trip to another part of the planet. Anything where you see the loading screen will fix your waypoints.

The NPCs that send you out to places and do not give a reward are designed to simply "give" you the location of cool places.

The final destination is the reward.

Does that make sense?

This one is for young creature handlers.

Once you're done with taming the non-aggressive creatures and head out to try to get those wrixes and other mean nasties, here's a couple of ideas that have worked well for me.

1. Always keep mask scent on. If it breaks, freeze and wait until you can mask again before you move. Some people say it doesn't matter against the really tough ones but we're talking rancors here so it will be awhile (for me at least).


2. Once you find a nice, tough, aggressive critter you want, walk up to him rather than run. If you're masked then you'll still have time to run away if it breaks and papa or mama aggro on you, if not you won't surprise all the critters. Lots of people have said crawl but I've never noticed a difference between that and walking and walkings alot faster.


3. Just before you try to tame, unequip your weapon so that if the baby aggros on you, you won't automatically attack it and get lots of aggro from the whole crowd of critters as well as killing the baby.


4. If you have a tough pet watching your back make sure you don't tell him to guard you. If the baby aggros on you then he'll jump in and it will likely die.


5. If it does aggro that's a good thing. Run away from mama & papa and he'll stop after a bit. Now he's away from the crowd and you don't have to worry as much about others in the group aggroing on you.


6. Make a macro for your taming. Mine looks like this [/follow; /tame; /peace;]. It works pretty well (except for failed tames)on everything but flyers on hillsides who move around too quick follow pathing causes me to run in circles.

In addition I set a highlight on the sentences with the word "tame" in so I can see if it worked or not in amidst all the clutter in my combat window. When I'm grinding CHxps I also changed the color of the word "harvested" so I can see when one creature is done and determine if both my pets have hit my next target before I finish it with my carbine.

To save space on the Toolbar I have mapped alot of my common functions to alt-*key* combinations (in the Options screen, Controls/Keymap). IE:

Stand, Kneel, Sit, Prone: alt-A, alt-S, alt-D, alt-F
Harvest Meat, Bone, Hide: alt-M, alt-B, alt-H (using macros)
Loot All: alt-L
Attack (just plain attack): Left window buttun
Peace: Right window button

When the overlay map is not displayed, press Ctrl-M and keep it held down. Use the scroll wheel on your mouse to adjust the zoom in and out on the map.

If you frequently get lost on planets like Dantooine (because you forget to set waypoints) wheresome of the outposts are not shown on the map (Ctrl-V), you can look under some of the tabs (such as cloning facility) and find waypoints back to them.

Also, a request, can someone post the keyboard command to hide all the ui elements for taking a screenshot? I did something by accident th other day and hid them and had to relog to fix it.

Kind of off topic about NPC quests, but check out my how too on macros for any macro question. It is still a work in progress, but there is alot of content there.

Setting a highlite to the word tame is great. So how do you do it??

Looking for an Entertainer and can't find one in town? Open up your planetary map using Ctrl-V, then open up the Cantina folders.

Higher level Dancers and Musicians who have registered there location will be indicated with an asterick "*" next to the cantina location.

There might also be an indicator next to player registered public buildings such as guildhalls if an entertainer is present and registered.
