This does not include Re-spec info as Re-spec is temporary.

I will be appending this as more is answered.

Section 1. Attacking Creatures and NPC's

Q. How do I auto attack?

A. Ctrl+Click on the attack that you would like as the default auto-attack.

Tip: Using your basic attack for your auto attack is a good idea untill you get used to

the new system. This uses minimal to no action and can keep you going while recovering

action pool points.

Tip: You can still double click on a target to iniateattack as long as default (it is #1 on radial).

Q. Is there an auto-defend?

A. No. Auto defend has been taken out of the game. You will now be required to defend yourself.

Q. How does the /con system work?

A. The /con system has a new color system and level number for easier reconition. The system is as follows:

Grey - Not worth the trouble, minimal XP awarded.

Green - Easy fight, small amount of XP awarded (Might cause a problem if more than 2).

Blue - This is the ideal target. Fairly decent XP. Could be trouble if you take more than 1 at a time.

White - This would be the 1 on 1 ideal fight. I would not recommend more than 1 at a time.

Yellow - Stronger than you. You can win but not more than 1 on 1. More than 1 WILL kill you.

Red - If danger is your game, this is your color. Good Luck! Will probably see you at the cloner.

Purple - Steer Clear of this color. I will see you at the cloner 99 out of 100 times.

Q. How do I know when I am being attacked?

A. Besides the change in music, your role icon will flash from red to black to blue.

Tip: Role icon is on the left side of your HAM window.

Tip: You can change your role by double clicking the icon.

Q. How come /peace does not work?

A. This is no longer a valid command. You can use the escape key to exit combat.

Tip: Not having an auto-attack will keep you from continually attacking a lair. You can double click on the lair to attack it once.

Tip: You gain 10% XP for every level a creature or NPC is above you, and you lose 10% for every level the creature or NPC is below you.

Section 2. Doctors and the CU

Q. Where are all my crafting schematics?

A. Crafting is no longer handled by doctors. All med crafting has been moved to

Bio Engineer or Medic.

Q. How can I get XP?

A. All XP is now granted through healing during combat. You will also get XP by healing yourself in combat.

Tip: See your local BE for enhancers for your healing abilities.

Q. Do I get weapon and armor certs?

A. Yes. You are certified for battle armor. Weapon certs are now level based.

Q. Can I still buff?

A. Yes. You can now buff Action, Health, Mind, and attack speed.

Tip: See your local BE for enhancers to help you give the best buff.

Q. What If I still want to be a crafting doctor?

A. With the new pre-req for doctor you will now have enough SP to pick up the required BE line.

Section 3. Crafters and the CU

Q. How will I get to my harvesters?

A. You will either need to get a PSG or hire a merc to protect you. Also grouping with a personLevel 80 appears to keep anything level 70 or under from agroing you.[Added May 31] You can now apply camo kits to help in the wild.

Q. Where have my schematics gone?

A. Some have been moved to other professions. Check carefully though, you might have some new ones.

Q. Resource requirements have changed, I have been saving them for a long time, what do I do?

A. Try trading them for what you need, remember one man's junk is another man's treasure.

Q. Can I wear armor?

A. No. Only elite combat professions may wear armor.

Q. Can I equip a weapon?

A. Yes. You can equip any level 1 certed weapon.

Tip: The crafting system now uses some new figures for specialized ingredients. It no longer works on the basis of 0 -1000 if the stat for the material has a cap on a stat of less than 1000. i.e. if the cap on say conductivity for Dolovite Iron was only 450 then the quality would be measured from 0 - 450 for the slot that calls for that perticular resource, with that perticular stat weighing.

Section 4. Interface

Q. Can I change to theold Icons?

A. No.

Q. Where is the Que? Will it come back?

A. The que is not compatible with the CU. Your next action will be surrounded by a yellow marker in the toolbar.

Q. How can I change back to the original controls?

A. Ctrl+O, goto interface, click on the keymap button, select Star Wars Galaxies from the pull down menu.

Q. Why can I not see experience in the system message anymore?

A. Experience will now show in the combat spam. [Updated] Experience amounts have now been put back in the general spam and a system message now appears again.

Q. What is the role icon for?

A. The role icon, located on the left side of your HAM, defines what role you are playing in the group. i.e. Tank, Crowd Control, Ranged, Medic, and so on. This way everyone knows what everyone's role is so to better plan an attack.

Section 5. Entertainers in the CU

Q. What can I do, now that I cannot buff?

A. Entertainers can still heal Battle Fatigue. Also entertainers can give an insperation buff. This will increase XP by 10%

as well as improve crafters ability to craft.

Q. Do I have to /setperform for the insperation buff?

A. No. The buff is passive, all they need to do is listen.

Q. Can I still deny service?

A. Yes you can.

Tip: Entertainers can now charge a cover charge to allow for healing and buffs. To use this type /covercharge [amount] in the command line. Any player attempting to watch/listen will have to pay the cover charge before they can do so.

Tip: Watch for more to come for entertainers in the future.

Section 6. Misc Questions

Q. I am missing XP, where did it go?

A. Some forms of XP are no longer used in the CU. These will be converted to useable XP.

Q. Can I still Solo?

A. Yes. However grouping will give special bonuses to takedown time. Grouping will make killing easier.

Q. Will I negatively affect the group if I am a lower level?

A. No. Your level will be raised to the group level. However you may take a bit more damage depending on

your modifers.

Q. Will I gain the same XP as everyone else in the group?

A. No. XP is granted based on your base level. You will still get the same XP based on con.

Example: If a white con gives you 400XP solo a white con grouped will give you 400XP. There is a bonus for being in a group, but your base XP will remain the same.

Q. Where are my buffs listed?

A. All buffs/debuffs are now shown by Icons under your HAM.

Tip: XP is set per level, however if you attack something higer than you, you get a +10% bunus per level above yours. Also the opposite is true for levels below you as well. There are also bonuses for killing agro's and DB'ers.

Tip: Anything 10 or more levels below yours will not agro you.

Special Tip From Tuesday's Tip: Center of Being is your best friend if you are a solo melee or a tank. This ability makes your defensive stats more effective. Ultimately lowering the damage you take in combat. This can help you level effectively.

Q. How come /peace does not work?

A. This is no longer a valid command. You must either A) Uncheck your auto-attack or B) untarget your current target or

C) move out of range of your target.

Great job on the list of tips

Also, to end combat, you should also be able to just hit the ESC key...

I wish that had been documented. I wish a lot of this had been documented.... I was in "combat" for 45 minutes in the middle of Theed last night because some agro got me as I was travelling into town. I couldn't get rid of it.

Q. Can I change the Icons?

A. No.

A note on this, you can rewrite your favorite specials into macros and then assign old "style" icons to the commands. There are still about 50 or so of the old icons in the list to choose from. I do not personaly advise doing this as you probably sacrifice your cooldown timers in doing it, but it is a work around solution to those who are adamantly against the new icons.

Tip: Grouping with a higher combat level player gives you all the damage mitigation of the highest combat level in the group. To stop yourself from being one-shotted while travelling, group with a combat player (level 80 preferably).

Q. There is still a lot of bug, Jedi force run, LS action/mind cost, Clock /target, lost all the waypoint, too far to listen/watch, root bug, many others, Why SOE release this beta version with a lot of bug to the live server??

A. They don't care about customer, they must release CU before the next expansion even it have a LOT of bug.

Tip: This is not the first time, SOE always do that, release a beta bug version to live server, if you remember those patch before.

How do I attack something while attempting to toggle thru the enemies near me?

/Attack still works, although you should be able to use anyspecial that you have to attack a targeted MOB. In master marksman and brawler you get very basic attacks to use, and these typically work best for your default attacks (ctrl-click on a special as mentioned to make it auto-attack), however, any special should do to attack the mob you have targeted.

and MacBoy, this thread is for those that are trying to discover and enjoy the new system. Troll and flame elsewhere. If you're truly dissatisfied, then cancel and leave, but don't take it out on those of us that are really enjoying the change
