Hey! you didnt show up on Dev tracker
Tip: if you cant place the structure where you want it, try destorying all the lairs around that area. They will block you from placing it.

Ps. now no one can say "first"

It takes time for Dev Tracker to show new posts from them. That's why.

Tip: Umm

Color in structure names...Still a lot of people that don't know how to do it.

In the structure name (houses, factories, harvesters...etc) use \#000000\ <text>

The numbers represent HTML color code found on various sites. Can be used to make rainbow colors or just about however you want.

Also for clickies...Lots of people don't know how to do it on the forum.

Enter the link like this: <a href=(complete URL)>Text</a> Have to have the </a> in there or you won't close the URL coding and everything else will be included in the link. Then do not hit submit...hit Edit as HTML first. Then hit submit.

If you want to get technical, it's Hexadecimal Code. I know this...But was making it simple.

No, as far as I know, there isn't a collection of Tuesday Tips on this site, so I was providing a helpful resource.

If I was trying to get hits, I'd say, *not real*"Click here for the second race revealed!!"*not real* when that is clearly a link to SWG Stratics!

Edit: Don't want to fool anyone.

I think that some good ideas for Tuesday's Tips might be things you can't find in the holocron for info. Things like how to work the survey and other droids effectively, or some helpful hints (tips) on how to improve your time on the racetracks (ie. macro-ing a command to mount your speeder can save you a second or two on your time). Maybe if the tips didn't seem like a repeat of information you can find all over, like in the holocron, manual, or those (sorry i find em annoying) helper droids. Hey TH, also, maybe if there could be a weekly post choosing a random profession and helping out on how to do a part of it a little better. It was very trial and error for me to learn how to make decent armor. Also, way back when last year when I mastered Ranger (my favorite profession so far, i can't wait to go back to it), I didn't know that you could craft camps to gain survival xp. Sure would have saved me some time, rather than sitting in camps endlessly day in and day out. If there was a tip every week about a profession and a helpful tip on how to be a better ____(insert profession here), then maybe it would help some newbs out, and maybe entice a vet to try a new profession that he/she may have thought was too complicated. Especially the crafting professions, learning how the stats of the resources used effects the outcome of your prototype would really be helpful tips.

Just a thought.

come on TH, did Q-3PO do this one already. There is a list of past Tuesday Tips right?

Well, there are a lot of new players and some tips are timeless in that they are always handy, even if they are reminders. Q-3PO did a great job of choosing helpful tips.

Though, I appreciate that you are so familiar with the feature

What kind of tipsshould we see? Between the Tuesday Tips and everything that players have posted, there really has been a lot of ground covered.

I'd like some insight for maybe some seldom used //commands

Kinda like the /board and /purchaseticket commands.... Those are the kinds of tips that I find neat.

Maybe you could do something with an in-depth look at resources... like why people can mine steel =P ...things like that.

Would be nice for the devs to give another reminder that slicing is COMPLETELY random, tool quality doesn't matter, and that masters get higher percents, ranginr from 11-35 on weapons and 15(?)-45 on armor encumbrance

The next Tuesday Tip could be a cleaned up and updated collection of past Tuesday Tips & player submitted tips. This could even be a Friday Special.

There is a lot of information on the forums but there is also an enormous amount of cruft. As a newbie player, its difficult to sift through it and figure out what is still relevant and what needs to be disregarded.

In the same vein:

1. Encourage correspondents to have up-to-date faqs and strategy guides for their professions. Most are doing a terrific job, but there is room for improvement. As an incentive for the correspondents and players to do this work, consider having the devs and/or you to go over these faqs and guides once they are done and point out obviously incorrect info and maybe add a few tidbits. Bits of these could go to Holocron as well.

2. SOE knowledge base is hard to use because there isn't an obvious way to restrict it to just entries relavant to SWG. (If there is, here is your next TT).

3. Holocron...its not bad as far as it goes, but I drew so many blanks that I don't bother checking it anymore.

4. Please update the in-game information for non functional/incorrect specials, capped mods, etc. It is ironic that what must be the definitive source of information is in fact more misleading than a player written guide. I have forgotten how many times I had to explain that even though the ui is showing '+53 xyz', you get the benefit of only +25.
