I agree. Jedi were allowed to be a part of the game as something extremely exceptional and rare for the very highest class of players to attain, even in spite of the fact that Vader has supposedly destroyed all but a handful of force users. I feel that making jedi content easy to access (if not easy to progress in) was a poor judgement call by the leads. Now the game is so full of jedi that I don't know if there's a fair way to do anything about it.

I guess we're just stuck with jedi-land now, although i'd like to see an option for alternatives to the jedi as end-game content. perhaps when the game develops further we can have a higher level of professions or skills beyond our standard master level boxes, or some means of recovering used skillpoints to add to a template or gaining more than 250 skillpoints as a reward for long-term xp instead of just jedi skills. I certainly feel like 2nd tier profession boxes are a low ceiling for something i've been working on almost 2 years, and the ability to achieve something higher or more rare ability-wise would be cool.

Now i won't start by accusing anyone that has posted here of being a hypocrit, since I don't know any of you in game anyway. My question is, how many of you are willing to sacrafice your own game play and not become a jedi and not do the jedi "thing" as it were. Personally, I've got 3 "glowy" characters and have had 2 of them since pub 9, one of whcih started with 3 unlocks. Guess how many jedi i have......ZERO. So instead of complaining about it, just do just as I and I know many other people have. Refuse to grind the xp and do the quests.

I'm with you there.. mind you i havent unlocked any jedi or fs stuff.. dont know even how to go about it as i have no interest in playing a jedi...

now there are some less drastic albeit less satisfying options apart from having vader come in and beat down all the jedi...

I strongly feel that players need to have the option to not be surrounded by jedi...

Option 1:

non jedi server. has its drawbacks and it would be better to have a jedi rare server but i dont know if thats possible. I know i would move even if it meant starting my character over from scratch.. seems like this would be a great rp server if it ever got given a chance

Option 2:

make visibility a really really really really really really bad thing.. not sure exactly how but make it so bad even power gamers wouldnt want it. Then make it so visibility is only gained within any city. Also dont make jedi be overt(if they still have to be overt now i dont know) doesnt solve any problems with game balance or anything but at least you could get away from jedi, you could sit in a cantina with your friends and not be forced to watch a bunch of tools with lightsabers battling and destroying the experience.

Option 3:

PVP planet... make a planet that is all pvp.. maybe make a zone factional pvp and another free for all... maybe not speceific to jedi but i bet it draws a lot of powergamers out of the rest of the planets and that would bring most jedi who are a problem with them.

Why not limit the number of play hours for jedi characters in each month (say 10 hours)? It could even be possible tomodulate this according to the number of jedi on a server, effectively acting like a hard cap.

Everyone still gets a chance to try the profession, there will befewerjedi playerstooling around in cities / cantinasand players can still use their alts to play.

Like itor not, many people, regardless of how many hours they play, want to reach jedi and wave the glow stick. In order to keep the money rolling in over a prolonged period of time SOE need to accomodate these wants.

Should jedi be easily available within 2 months to everybody or onlybe available to players who have 35+ per week to indulge in playing games. The economic answer for SOE is somewhere between these two extremes and will be subject to a constant balancing act. At the moment there are too many visible jedi and they areupsettingthe immersion factor of the game. However, a decision to cap the population or prevent new /returning players from reaching the sameendgame as others would make the playerreaction to CU look mild by comparison.

I like the earlier suggestion of additional professions, skill points or combat levels for veteran players though. Loyalty rewards are a powerful way of retaining customers. The difference should be noticeable but not too large (i.e 5% better)

I agree with a lot of what is being said, and this is coming from a Jedi.

Tbh I didn't want to persue the Jedi road, however, after doing almost everything in the game, including starting and running a city/guild witha friend, there wasn't too much more to do, so, I ground out my fsxp and got an extra slot and I'm grinding jedi and two new profs I hadn't tried before. So getting the Jedi has certainly increased my lifetime in the game.

However, I do feel the same way about too many Jedi and I purposely try to be inconspicuous in towns and cities, I never get my saber out and always try to remember to wear normal clothes as I'm supposed to be in hiding.

It's probably the more juvenile players who feel the need to showoff their jedi that are the pain. I agree knights forced to be overt doesn't help much. But anything uber in a game such as this will always be visable, wether its because people want to show off, or because its taken so long to achieve, or a lot of money to buy, they maybe feel they have a right to use it and play it.

If only SOE hadn't mentioned anything when the game was launched about achieving Jedi things wouldn't have got to this stage. It scares me to think of all the dev hours put into Jedi at the neglect of other profs, especially smuggler and crafters, that's why I don't moan on the Jedi forum, we;ve had it good up until now, let the devs do their thing with other profs for a change.

No answers to the problem, but just my thoughts.

This is going to sound like a flame but it's not. I also have three accounts, one glowing so much the old man and I are on a first name basis (his name is Gus BTW). So i agree that people can just say no to becoming a Jedi. Unfortuately so many of the missions now not only require a group, they require a few jedi if you are going to have a chance (DWB and Corvette as starters). My issue is not the number of Jedi but that so much of the content SEEMS to be created specifically with Jedi players in mind.

I can tolerate the Jedi but give me something besides nuna hunting as content.

Perma-death and blue glowies.

Problem solved.

If there is an actual consequence to being killed as a Jedi - other than just an extra hour of grind time - then you will see far fewer Jedi running around.

Publish 19 is a disgrace beyond words, fix jedi?

The only good is fixing saber + fixing force armor.
