Wild lairs are named without the creature name in it, i.e. "a pile of rocks". These lairs are fair game and safe to attack without someone else complaining about it, assuming they're not already attacking it.

Lairs that are someone's mission specifically have the creature name in it, "a piket lair" or "a seething bol lair". Attacking these lairs is considered poaching and may bring about unwelcome treatment from the mission owner.

My tip for using a droid, is to get a droid with a Medical Rating. This will add to your healing ability. I use onewhen I'm fighting BH marks, I find that I do better by using this droid to help heal my damage than I do with a combat droid.

Good stuff.

I use Panes 5 and 6 for my droid storage, and its really useful. In slot00 I put the actual droid, and then slots 01-09 I put the items in that droid's storage compartment. This way I know where the items are, and where to put them back when I'm done.

Being able to trade Astromechs with Pilot Programs already installed is a nice feature, but I'm curious as to why players cannot do the same with Flight Computers. (Since Flight Computer count against your total number of Droids in your datapad.)

(Copied and pasted from a Teusday Tip in August (This tip seems to never go out of style!))

(Copied and pasted from a Teusday Tip in march, (An earlier post of mine.))

If somebody has a really hard name to type in and you like talking to them but its a pain to type (example) /t Jon'Smith'Da'm'a'n' (messege);

Then you can set up an alias to talk to him like this...

/alias jon /t Jon'Smith'Da'm'a'n' <-----(without a semi colon after it)

Now all you will have to do is type /jon (messege)and it will /t Jon'Smith'Da'm'a'n' (messege)

Please note that if you put a semi-colon at the end of the alias it will not work! It will end the command and say you need to send a messege....

To add to the droid tip, ship components in a droid storage compartment appear on the ship management terminal. I keep factory crates of my favorite missiles and countermeasures in my droids. When my chaff launcher gets low, I can just reload it directly from the crate in the droid.

It's an exploit, I'm sure. My alt Kniol Kiodo has been an MDE since Jan 04, and until one of the last publishes you always had to use a Droid Repair Kit to heal damage done to droids. I've noticed in just the last couple weeks, by accidentally having my droid targeted once, that it healed considerably when I used a Bacta Shot. I didn't "exploit" the exploit, knowing that it must be a bug, and I have some top-of-the-line Droid Repair Kits anyway.

Being a droid bug, it will probably be many moons before it's fixed, sadly. Droid Engineers' problems seem to be ranked waaaaaay down there, close to the Rangers and Smugglers.

Hello Thunderheart,

this is one of the best tuesday tip so far. Even if droid could get some lovin, it's nice to remember people how handy they can be.

My tip :

In need of storage? Buy 5 droids with storage modules and you have 50 new safe slots to carry your stuff.

Thanks, I appreciate it, but Drashk is a DE legend and the thanks should go to him for the great tip

Also, if anyone out there has a great tip they would like to seein the opening Tuesday Tip post, email it toSWGTips!

This is a useful post!

Talking about calling things and using things from the toolbar, anybody figured out how to use the Health-buff Crystal without opening their inventory and using the radial menu? I'd really like to use it from the toolbar, personally...just like these droids and other things, like swoops, mounts, weapons, stims, etc.

Thanks for the great droid tips TH. Question: any chance of making droids/creatures/factional pets, callable at any time, with no delay, even in combat? The old system of having a delay when pulling out these things, and storing them, was probably put in to avoid some sort of exploit, but nowadays, it is dated. In addition, the delay makes it a real pain for Creature handlers to pull out pets before a mission, especially in a good group that can take out missions relatively quickly.

Removing the pet call delay is In-Development (Down towards the bottom).

I know this is way off topic, but what remaining use do camps serve if pets can be called immediately anywhere? I've always thought the idea of camps to be very cool, but their usefulness has continually been whittled down--now to nothing but RP.

_____
TIP: All player city shuttles will have their ticket terminal and ticket droid on the rear side of the shuttle. This can be useful when approaching a shuttle port in a hurry, especially when terminals are slow to load into the world.

Camp Uses:

1. Terrain Removal: Have a mission target spawn inside a tree or a can't access a quest item due to a rock? Drop a camp!

2. Self-Inflicted Spam: Camps no longer disband automatically when abandoned (since publish that loosed camp placement restrictions), instead they remain until server reset or you manually disband them. If you leave them, you will get the "you have abandoned your camp" message every 2 minutes as long as you are on the same planet until server reset.

3. Griefing / Wierdness: Due to being able to have multiple camps (just wait for the last one to be abandoned), you could potentially cover a planet in camps, or at least make a camp city.

A tip on astromechs:

Even though the MandalMotors "Hutt"-style freelance fighters (with the exception of the Krayt fighter)have a visible astromech socket drawn onto their model, you can't actually load an astromech into the ship. You'll need to use a flight computer. No droid sidekicks for you, freelancer!
