Does the original music play or do you get nothing?
Have you tried any other music yet?

Finally, and this may sound stupid, does the actual renamed title have .mp3 in it or is that just the file type now?

If that is in the title, that is the issue.

Guys... I've noticed many posts here where people are suggesting to just rename another sound file type to end in .mp3

Typically this just won't work, you MAY get lucky once in a while.

Also to rename the file extention you need to be able to see them.

To do this you need to open a folder (any one), click tools/folder options, then the view tab, then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"

Other wise, if you rename lets say a .wav, the actual file name will just be mus_title_lp.mp3.wav (as seen by your PC).

A converter is required to actually make a wav to an mp3. I know Nero is bundled with a sound editing software suit that will do this 30 times unless you purchase the plugins.

I will check the bitrates of my tracks (they work) to give an idea of what is needed as soon as I get some time, late for work now

P.S. (should've added this at time of post - sorry guys!)

Remember, once you've done above setup, ALL files will need the extention added after a rename, make sure you remember to do this or recheck the hide extentions again, if you don't include the extention (.zip, .doc, .txt whatever the file was you're renemaing), windows will not know what program to use to open it at a later date.

Did you make a folder and label it "music" or did you just put the .mp3 in the SWG file?

It would be nice if SOE's policy would lighten up and allow MOD's like Blizzard allows MOD’s in WoW. The HUD in SWG has always bugged me. It looks like Freelancer. The HUD does not look Star Warsy. I just have a feeling that the devs would like to do more but are held back. I don’t know why I feel this way but I just do—L M A O or am I just hopeful? I bet it is a ton of politics involved in all this.
