That you can use ctrl-p to display those hard earned profession titles above your character name for others to see. It doesn't get displayed by default which I thought after ctrl-1 targeting myself to see.
This is wrong as Ctrl-P brings up the People (Community) window. Does anyone know how to display titles, really?
It may be really obvious to some but not be immediately obvious to others but each category on the baazar can be listed by subcatagory by clicking on the box beside the category name. It should be a (+) to make it more intuitive but once you know, you know. It reduces the slogging through junk.
Those precious cut and paste functions are still available. Go to the options dialog -> controls -> key map -> chat tab. In there there are all the chat cut/paste/copy functions that work anywhere text is needed (i.e. macro editing). The are just unbound. I just rebound those keys to shift+ctrl+alt + x/v/c since the regular ctrl+x/v/c are used.

Take a close look at the Character tab in that ctrl+p dialog YodaJediMD before accusing others of wrongness.

Actually, ctrl-p is right, there's just a little more you need to do. See the top of that community window? There are several tabs there. Click on the one labelled "Character". There you can set all kinds of information about your character, including a title. Select a title from the drop-down box and it'll display under your character's name to others. More titles become available to you as you master skills, so be certain to check back often to start wearing your new title with pride. ![]()

Installations are not worth the maintanence! You can get several thousand minerals - more than enough to reproduce that structure 100x over - without paying 1 credit of maintanence - just let it BURN. Factories on the other hand... PAY THE MAINTANENCE! They cost WAAAAY too much to just let burn.
Yes it is, since as of the last patch harvesters no longer work if the maintenance isn't paid.
I'm so happy about this, finally justice for those of us who went through all the trouble of paying the maintenance.

Due to a game change yesterday, Installations now stop when their maintenance budgets go to 0 or below (the "X credits to repair" type of thing). Sorry folks, but you knew it had to happen eventually. Now, even in new harvestors, you have to pay maintenance before it even gets turned on or it will stop immediately.
Also, building a harvestor on an 80+% resource doesn't necessarily help, as it looks like some resources changedailynow. Here's what happened with minerals around Scylla's Mos Eisley, Tatooine area lately:
Friday: Lots and lots of Steel (5 types).I was mining a 75% deposit of Cefooate Steel. No Copper anywhere.
Saturday: Lost a Steel type, but was still lots of it around. Changed the Steel type I was mining to Soteob. 60-something% alumnum deposit vanishes, along with all other aluminum on the planet. Started miningVikla Ore instead. One Copper type in miniscule amounts.
Sunday: Whoa, what happened? One Steel Type, hard to find (everywhere, ironically, but in the towns Bank Square). Started mining Copper, since there's now3 or 4types, one at a 77% deposit. Aluminum returns, but in really low quantities. Thewind resource changed (Note to SOE: Don't do that again or we'll hunt you down with carbines), requiring all wind generators to be updated.
Monday: **edit**? No Steel types on the planet anymore. No Iron either (no ferrous metals = bad). Five Copper types or so. The Ore deposit I was mining vanishes. Started miningAluminum again, even though it's only 30-some%.
Tuesday: Whoa, we have Steel again, 3 types. One type is fairly easy to find. Still lots of Copper, but less types. A second wind type appeared. Still mining Copper, changed Aluminum to Steel again, even though the deposit is only 40-some%.
So, as you can see, the resource AI is being run daily now. I think we should start a petition to have it so that it only changes once or twice a week at most.
Thanks for the info Paweh, but at the risk of sounding like a jerk:This isn't really the thread for it. Let's stick to "Did you know?" posts...
Here's mine:
Did you know?
You can /healdamage while sitting down? Your char automatically stands up when you use a stimpack and sits back down. Good way to keep your mind regen to a maximum.
Ctrl-N is the default way to get Names to appear and disappear from npc's or pc's. So to take a screenshot, first hit Ctrl-Shift-H to get rid of the hud, then Ctrl-N to get rid of the names. (getting rid of the hud was already mentioned, but not the names
)
OK, I'll condense my previous post:
Did you know: Resources move daily?
Medics, Did you know:
/healwound used without an argument will automatically heal whichever attribute that needs the most healing that you have wound medipacks for?
(/tendwound on the other hand requires you to specify a wound type.)
Just getting started and this thread has a wealth of information!
Thanks to all who have contributed.
Did You Know?
You can name your droids!
Just use a name when you're programming him in the same manner mentioned earlier in this thread. Instead of typing /say <command>, type /say <droid name> <command>. For example,
Teaching my new droid, that I want to call Rover, to follow me:
/say Rover Follow me
After you teach it 3-5 different commands while using it's name, It will adopt that name as its own.
